Ollie Sturgeon, 94, of Marion passed away April 30, 1999 at Mercy Hospital in Owensboro.
He was a member of Marion Baptist Church and would have been married
for 73 years May 7.
Sturgeon is survived by his wife, Velda Sturgeon of Marion; a daughter, Christine Sliger of Owensboro; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held May 3 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Fletcher
Services for Charles Fletcher, 78, of Marion will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 6 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Revs. David LeNeave and Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.
Fletcher passed away May 2, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church.
Fletcher is survived by his wife, Fannie Fletcher of Marion; four sons, Carl Ferrell of Villa Ridge, Mo., Charles Fletcher, Jr. of Deaver, Wyo.; three sisters, Rebecca Gibbs and Ruby Driver of Fredonia and Mary Mae Harris of Eddyville; a brother, Charlie Peck of Fredonia; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Effie Fletcher.
Hall
Bernice Hall, 90, of Marion passed away April 28, 1999 at her home.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Hall is survived by two sons, Bill Hall of Brownsville, Ore., and Jon Hall of Benson, N.C.; three daughters, Sue Mills of Reidland, Nira McCallum of Marion and Sarah Woody of Paducah; a brother, Edd Mize of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters, Agnes Kern of Granite City and Virginia Bridges of Hot Springs, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Darrell Hall and Barrett Hall; and her husband, Rev. Marvin Hall.
Services were held May 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Revs. Douglas Mize and Grandville Courtney officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Lourdes Hospice.
Fritts
Naomi Nell Fritts, 81, of Marion passed away May 4, 1999 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.
Fritts is survived by a son, Leon Fritts of Valparaiso, Ind.; two daughters, Barbara Heady of Marion and Geraldine Wallace of New Buffalo, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held Thursday, May 6 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Russ Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery.
Lowery
Services for Emma Elizabeth Lowery, 69, of Louisville, were held April 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion with Revs. John Conn and Ken Heacox officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Lowery passed away April 22, 1999 at Caritas Medical Center in Louisville.
She is survived by a son, Steven Logan Lowery of Bardstown; a daughter, Lisa Knutson of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Dr. Thomas Logan and Dr. John Logan, both of Henderson, and William Logan of Madisonville; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Lowery was preceded in death by her husband John Lowery.
Adkins
Sue Arflack Adkins, 68, of Marion, passed away April 23, 1999 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherri Farris of Reidland; two sons, Ricky Arflack of Rainbow City, Ala. and Billy Arflack of Marion; a sister, Linnie Shelton of Elberfield, Ind.; a brother, Logan Martin, Jr. of Marion; and nine grandchildren.
Adkins was preceded in death by her parents, Stella and Logan Martin, Sr.; a son, Ronnie Arflack; and a brother, Kenneth Howard Martin.
Services were held April 25 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Roberts
Garry Lynn Roberts, 15, of Covington, La. passed away April 18, 1999 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Wilson of Covington, La.; his stepfather, Shane Wilson of Picayune, Miss.; a sister, Dawn Roberts of Picayune; a brother, Courtney Roberts of St. Louis. Mo.; his grandmother, Pauline Fryar of Marion; and his grandfather, Vern Roberts of Paducah.
Roberts was preceded in death by his father, Garry Lynn Roberts, Sr.
Services were held April 28 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Rollie Stratton officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery.
Crowell
Colista Crowell, 86, of Princeton passed away April 15, 1999 at Hilltop Nursing Home in Kuttawa.
She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Princeton.
Crowell is survived by a son, James Crowell of Princeton; a brother, J.D. Orr of Marion; a niece, Cheryl Singleton of Marion; and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Crowell.
Services were held April 17 at Morgan's Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Board officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Ryan
Virgil Ryan, 74, of Dawson Springs passed away April 14, 1999 at Caldwell Co. Hospital.
Ryan was an owner/operator of his own barber shop.
Services were held April 17 at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Rogers officiating. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery.
Ryan is survived by a son, Jerry Ryan of Dawson Springs; a sister, Opal Quintana of Dawson Springs; a brother, Lonnie Ryan of Dawson Springs; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Ryan.
