BENTON, Ky. - Charles William "Bill" Moore, 50, formerly of Marion, passed away July 23, 2005 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehab.
Survivors include a son, Billy Moore; a daughter, Melissa Moore; and a sister, Karen Ordway, all of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Earl and Lucille Sherer Moore; and a brother, James D. Moore.
Services were July 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Frank McCallum, Rev. Tony Alexander and Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial was in Hurricane Cemetery.
Tinsley
MORGANFIELD, Ky. - Paula J. Tinsley, 48, passed away July 21, 2005 at her home.
Surviving are her husband, Jackie R. Tinsley, Sr.; a daughter, Kristy Tinsley of Morganfield; a brother, Paul Scott of Michigan; two sisters, Elizabeth Lester of Knoxville, Tenn., and Becky Scott of Michigan; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jackie R. Tinsley; her parents, Howard and Louis May Scott; a brother; and a sister.
Services were July 24 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. John Shirey officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Corley
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Anna Mae Corley, 87, formerly of Marion, passed away July 18, 2005 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She was a member of Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Lois Sheffield and Treva Corley, of Marion, Gladiola Martin of Clay and Teresa Phillips of Louisville and several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ervin Corley; her parents, Robert Lee and Cordia Evelyn Sutton; two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services were July 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Cortis Hill officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Grimes
SALEM, Ky. - Imo Jean Grimes, 75, passed away July 25, 2005 at her home. She attended Creekside General Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., July 28, 2005 at Boyd Funeral Home. Bro. Roger Holloman and Bro. James Rundles will officiate with burial in Tyner's Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Billie J. Grimes of Townville, S.C., and Donna M. Whited of Salem; three sisters, Sue Adams of Jasper, Ind., Cena Cobb of Salem and Fannie Hayes of Henderson; three brothers, Odell Cobb of Reidland, Jim Cobb of Burna and J.T. Cobb of Elkhart, Ind.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; a brother; her husband, Billy Grimes; and her parents, Joe and Betty Loveless Cobb.
Loftis
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Wilma Lee "Ma" Loftis, 93, passed away July 22 at her home. She was born in Crittenden County.
She attended Family Altar Chapel and while living in Kentucky sang alto with the gospel quartet, "Faithful Four."
She is survived by two sons, William "Carlton" Loftis of Battle Creek, and Charles "Slim" Loftis of Mansfield, Ohio; a daughter, Thelma Royer of Battle Creek; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Guthrie C. Tharp of Morton, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Bessie Harris Tharp; four sisters; two brothers; and a son, Robert "Bob" Wayne Loftis.
Services were July 26 at Farley-Estes and Dowdle Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald A. Hoeksema officiating. Burial was in Hicks Cemetery.
St. John
LITTLETON, Colo. - Judy E. Belt St. John, 58, passed away July 18, 2005. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Ill., and lived in Battle Creek most of her life, serving with many non-profit groups such as MADD and Relay for Life.
Surviving are a daughter, Jill (Justin) Willey of Sterling, Colo.; two sons, Mark (Kristen) St. John of Marshall and Matthew St. John of Littleton; two granddaughters, Abigail and Madelyn St. John; her father, Eugene Belt of Ceresco, Colo.; and a brother, Danny (Brenda) Belt of Ceresco.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Theda Belt.
Services were July 22 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Larry T. Messer officiating. Memorials may be made to Chayah House, 1544 Marion Street, Denver, CO 80218-0018.
Maxfield
DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. - Funeral services for Emma Alberta Maxfield, 84, formerly of Crittenden County, will be held at 10 a.m., July 29 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Lonnie Knight will officiate with burial will be in Owen Cemetery. She passed away July 26 at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include four sons, Jim Maxfield of Livingston County, Tom Maxfield of Troy, Texas, Dennis Maxfield of Tulsa, Okla., and Joe Maxfield of Kansas; three daughters, Doris Rushing of Fredonia, Myra Watson of Marion and Joyce Troutvetter of Evansville, Ind.; a sister, Helen Ramage of Murfreesboro, Tenn; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Maxfield; a son, Louis Maxfield; a daughter, Pamela Kay Maxfield; a granddaughter, Rhonda Rushing; her parents, James Albert and Effie Brasher; a brother, Tom Brasher; and a sister, Myra Fulenwider.
Byford
WHEATCROFT, Ky. - Marshall L. Byford, 70, passed away July 24, 2005 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi, Ill. He retired from Peabody Coal Company and was a U.S. Army veteran and member of Clay First Baptist Church where he was the song leader and a Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of Wheatcroft Masonic Lodge No. 881, Madisonville Rizpah Shriners and Scottish Rite.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Deen of Norris City, Ill.; three sisters, Pam Marlowe of Fredonia, Barbara Mercer of Princeton and Mary Moody of Eddyville; three brothers, Charles Byford and Ronnie Byford, both of Columbia and Gerald Byford of Star City, Ark.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded ind death by his wife, Katie.
Services were July 27 at First Baptist Church in Clay with Rev. Paul Ware officiating. Burial was in Rocksprings Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 485, Clay, KY 42404.
Bacon
EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Eldress Dottie Bacon, 56, passed away July 25, 2005 at Western Baptist Hospital. She was pastor of Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church in Salem. She was vice-moderator of the Eddyville District Conference until her election as moderator.
Surviving are three children, Francyenne (Steve) Maynard of Arlington, Texas, Julian (Tasha) Crawford of Crayne and Lamont (Jami) Davis of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Kourtnei, Jessica, Anthony and Jordan; her mother, Mary F. Crawford of Marion; a sister, Mary Nolen of McKenzie, Tenn.; two brothers, James Crawford of Salem and Jerry Crawford of Paducah; an aunt, Addie Crawford of Salem; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Crawford.
Services will be at 11 a.m., July 30 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Millikan officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery.
Dalton
MORGANTOWN, Ky. - Maxie Lou Dalton, 71, formerly of Marion, passed away July 17, 2005 at Morgantown Care and Rehab.
Surviving are three sisters, Kay Fuller of Marion, Jean Tabor of Salem and JoAnn Fox of Chandler, Ind.; two brothers, Ted Dalton and Neal Dalton of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Graydon and Effie Wheeler Dalton.
Funeral services were July 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. David Winders officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Walker
James E. "Jimmy" Walker, 67, of Marion, passed away July 9, 2005 at Livingston Hospital. He was a retired gas station attendant and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ann Walker; a son, Charles E. Walker of Fredonia; five sisters, Charlene Doughty of Calvert City, Ann LeFebvre of Slidell, La., Christine Williamson, Corene "Dolly" James and Linda Sue Brown, all of Marion; two grandsons, Nikkie Thomason of Smithland and Aaron Walker of Fredonia; a granddaughter, Shauna Walker of Narrows, Ky.; a step grandson, Jesse Whitfield of Fredonia; a step granddaughter, Ashley Winters of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Ann Nichols Walker; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services were July 12 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Faughn officiating. Burial was in Love Cemetery.
