SALEM, Ky. - Memorial services for Paul D. Barnes, 76, of Salem, were held May 6, 2005 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. John East officiated.
Barnes, a member of Salem Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II, passed away May 3 at his home.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Iris Barnes of Salem; three daughters, Sharon Barnes of West Palm Beach, Fla., Carol Rucks of Springfield, Mo., and Beverly Degenford of Plantation, Fla.; four sons, Roger Barnes and Richard Barnes, both of West Palm Beach, Edwin Barnes of Marion and Wayne Barnes of Salem; a brother, Robert Barnes of Dallas; three sisters, Winniford Barnes, Ann Barnes of Texas and Delores Barnes of Florida; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and his parents, Charles Ross and Bertha Horn Barnes.
Fraliex
FREDONIA, Ky. - Donnie Fraliex, 67, passed away May 2, 2005 at his home. He was a retired coal miner and member of First Baptist Church in Fredonia.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia O'Bryan Fraliex; a son, Steven Fraliex of Fredonia; a daughter, Shonta Manus of Princeton; three brothers, Bill Fraliex of Fredonia, Paul Fraliex of Burna and Douglas Fraliex of Kuttawa; two sisters, Stella Wyatt and Dottie Hooks, both of Fredonia; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond Fraliex, Richard Fraliex, Steve Fraliex and Bob Fraliex; a sister, Betty Crayne; and his parents, John Henry and Mary Peek Fraliex.
Services were May 4 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with Dr. Jerrell White and Rev. Bill Bruce officiating. Burial was in Fredonia Cemetery.
Davis
Angela Gail Nash Davis, 35, of Marion, formerly of Hog Mountain, Ga., passed away May 1, 2005 as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident in Crittenden County (see related story, page 1A).
Funeral services were May 4 at Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Barbara Nash officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Faulkner
SMITHLAND, Ky. - Louis Ray Faulkner, 90, passed away April 24, 2005 at Salem Springlake Care Center. He attended Bethel United Methodist Church, was a member of the American Legion Burna Post 217, served in World War II and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by four nephews, David Stalions of Smithland, Fred Faulkner of Versailles, John Faulkner of The Woodlands, Texas and Dr. Baird Faulkner of Nashville; two nieces, Kay Story of Benton, Beverly Wallace of Salem, a sister-in-law, Gladys Faulkner of Salem; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edwinna Threlkeld Faulkner; a sister, May Stalions; a brother, Dr. Roscoe Faulkner; and his parents, Nathan F. and Jennie May Faulkner.
Services were April 27 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Walzie Hosick officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery.
Hurley
SALEM, Ky. - Tommie Rhea Hurley, 71, passed away April 22, 2005 at her home. She was of Cumberland Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include her husband, Owen Hurley of Salem; three brothers, Douglas Harnice of Paducah, Eddie Harnice of Smithland and Jimmy Harnice of Sevierville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Lee Kirk; and her parents, Tommie H. and Vivian Sullenger Harnice.
Services were April 25 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Rittenberry officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Wheeler
Brad Wheeler, 55, of Marion, passed away April 25, 2005 at Crittenden Hospital.
Private graveside services were held April 27 at Mapleview Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Winters officiating.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Wheeler of Marion; his mother, Mary Henrie Wheeler of Marion; two daughters, Michelle (Steve) Dickerson of Marion and Carisa (Mark) Williams of Marion; a sister, Carolyn Wilkinson of Evansville; a brother, Bill Wheeler of Marion; and a granddaughter, Emma Cathryn Williams of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bradburn Leonard Wheeler.
Poindexter
SALEM, Ky - Monema Poindexter, 95, passed away April 25, 2005 at Crittenden County Rehab. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Keith E. Poindexter of Rosiclare, Ill.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Courtney James Poindexter; three sons, Kelcy Poindexter, Dennis Poindexter and Arnold Poindexter; three sisters; and two brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m., April 28 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Grimes will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Perrin
LOLA, Ky. - Funeral services for Christine Perrin, 87, were April 24 at Lola Pentecostal Church. Rev. Tim Fouts officiated. Burial was in Lola Cemetery.
She was a 25-year member of Lola Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Shelby Jean Perryman Reeves of Lola; three sons, Donald Wayne Perryman of Bayou, Randy Dean Perrin of Sarasota and Mike Perrin of Lola; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Willard Perryman; her second husband, John Randall Perrin; a brother, James Moody Davis; and her parents, James "Jack" M. and Edna Noel Davis.
Millikan
Damon Keith Millikan, infant son of David and Chantel Millikan, passed away April 17, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Other survivors include a brother, Seth Millikan; grandparents, George "Red" and Brenda Fox Benton of Marion; a grandfather, Otis Millikan of Marion; two uncles, Michael (Brooke) Coleman of Princeton and Darren Millikan of Marion; an aunt, Sandy (Marty) Williams of Dunnellon, Fla.; and three cousins, Jaden Coleman and Isaac Maroney of Princeton and Zach Williams of Dunnellon.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Sue Millikan.
Graveside services were April 19 at Mapleview Cemetery. Bro. Gary Murray officiated.
Richards
DALTON, Ky. - John Nelsz Richards, 79, passed away April 16, 2005 at his home. He was a deacon at Prospect Baptist Church and a retired heavy equipment operator at Christian Coal Co.
He is survived by his wife, Algie Lacy Richards of Dalton; a daughter, Karen Maddux of Marion; a sister, Edith Richards of Dalton; two grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by two sisters; a brother; and his parents, George W. and Ruby Neisz Richards.
Services were April 19 at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Darrell Clarke and Bro. Tom McKim officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery near Dalton.
Williams
Billy W. Williams, 33, of Marion, passed away April 14, 2005 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was a member of Ambassadors for Christ Church.
Surviving are his parents, Connie and David "Tiny" Williams of Marion; a sister, Mary Lou Williams of Marion; two brothers, Tommy Williams of Marion and Charlie Williams of Eddyville; a grandfather, Clarence Adams of Marion; and two uncles.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Williams.
Services were April 16 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Freedom Cemetery. Rev. Kenny Downs officiated.
