Monroe Harris, 87, of Marion passed away April 19, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was a farmer and a member of Fredonia Pentecostal Church.
Harris is survived by two daughters, Patsy Tyrie of Marion and Thelma Sizemore of Paducah; two sons, Bill Harris of Laconia, Ind. and Allen Harris of Marion; a sister, Lizzie Bealmear of Chandler, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Belle and Charlie Harris; a son, Houston Harris; and five brothers.
Services were held April 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Nicky Davis officating. Burial was in Fredonia Cemetery.
Thompson
Ellis Thompson, 89, of Smithland passed away April 20, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Thompson of Smithland; three sisters, Callie Gullett of Calvert City, Elizabeth Lanier of Kevil and Frances Taylor of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held after 9 a.m., Thursday, April 22 at Boyd Funeral Home and the funeral to follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Belt
Services for Greg Belt, 18, of Marion were held April 14, 1999 at the Crittenden County High School Gymnasium with the Revs. Farris Sahawneh and Tim Baker officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Belt passed away April 10 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
He was a junior at Crittenden County High School and was a member of the Crittenden County Rocket football and track teams. He was also a member of the Technology Students' Association, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving are his parents, C.G. and Ruth Belt of Marion; and two sisters, Gala Belt and D'arcy Belt, both of Marion.
Donations may be made to the Greg Belt Memorial Scholarship Fund at Farmers Bank.
Pope
William D. Pope, 79, of Smithland passed away April 9, 1999 at his home.
Pope is survived by his wife, Ola Hurley Jordan Pope of Smithland; a daughter, Donna Pope, of Denver, Colo.; a son and daughter-in-law William David and Jeannie Pope of Ledbetter; two sisters, Nellie Jane Gorham of Paducah and Rosemary Dunning of Hampton; and three grandchildren, Amberly Gish of Benton and Jeanna and Brittany Pope of Ledbetter.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Pope.
Funeral services were held April 11 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Wring officiating. Burial was in Hampton Cemetery.
McKinney
Services for Orville McKinney, 85, of Marion were held Sunday at Union Baptist Church with the Revs. Herbert Alexander and Russ Davidson officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.
McKinney passed away April 2 at Western Baptist Hospital.
McKinney was a member of Union Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cora McKinney; a son, Danny McKinney of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Janice Arflack of Madison, Ala.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Fritts
Carmon Fritts, 85, of Marion passed away Monday at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
He was a member and deacon of Marion General Baptist Church.
Fritts is survived by two sons, Marshall Leon Fritts and James Doyle Fritts, both of Marion; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Sunderland of Marion; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Fritts.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Revs. Nicky Davis, Buddy Hix and Tim Baker officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Wright
Services for Dora Wright, 79, of Tolu were held Tuesday at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Loyd Harris officiating. Burial was in White's Chapel Cemetery.
She passed away Sunday at Caldwell County Hospital.
Wright is survived by a son, Danny Wright of Marion; a daughter, Kimberly Champion of Tiline; a sister, Henrietta Tabor of Princeton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy S. Wright.
Riddle
Memorial services for Elvia Mae Riddle, 74, of San Fransisco, Calif., formerly of Livingston County, were held Sunday at Dyer Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Beals officiating.
Riddle passed away March 12, 1999 at her residence.
She is survived by two daughters, Janie Cheeseman of Portland, Ore., and Ruth Riddle of Kent, Wash.; two sons, Gary Riddle of Pacifica, Calif., and Barry Riddle of San Jose, Calif.; six brothers, Charles Lemon of Grand Junction, Mich., Luther Lemon of Paducah, Maurice Lemon of Joy, Harold Lemon of Golconda, Ill., Rudy Lemon of Union City, Tenn., and Larry Lemon of LaPorte, Ind.; three sisters, Linda Thurston of Michigan City, Ind., Velda Henson of Ledbetter and Phyllis Weber of Paducah; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Riddle; a grandson; and three brothers. Her parents were Ollie and Edith Lemon.
The body was cremated. Entombment is in Turlock Memorial Park in Turlock, Calif.
McChesney
Pauline McChesney of Chesterfield, Va., passed away March 17, 1999.
She was born in Shady Grove. McChesney was the daughter of the late Earl and Ollie Coleman McChesney of Marion.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret N. Gwynne of Richmond, Va.; a son Philip L. Guess of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters Opal Brown of Jacksonville, Fla.; Jean McChesney of Minneapolis, Minn.; two brothers William McChesney of Fulton, and Dr. James McChesney of Richmond, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held March 19 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Richmond, Va.
Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery at a later date.
