Raymond August Montalta, 77, of Marion and formerly of Kankakee, Ill., passed away Dec. 5, 2006 at Livingston Hospital.
Surviving are two sons, Tom Montalta of St. Anne, Ill., and Raymond Montalta, Jr., of Marion; two daughters, Lois LaPorte of Bonfield, Ill., and Cathie King of Marion; a brother, Don Montalta of Aroma Park, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lois Montalta.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m., Dec. 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Services will be at noon Dec. 9 at Schreffler Funeral Home in Kankakee, Ill., with burial in Aroma Park Cemetery.
Perryman
James Trice Perryman, 86, of Marion, passed away Dec. 3, 2006 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Ovella Perryman; a son, Larry Perryman of Merrillville, Ind.; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Perryman of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Jane Perryman; a daughter, Debbie Perryman; and three brothers. His parents were Jess and Myrtle May Wiggins Perryman.
Services were Dec. 6 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial in Mexico Cemetery.
Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Workman
NEWBURGH, Ind. – Alma Lavern Croft Joyce Workman, 87, formerly of Salem, passed away Dec. 5, 2006 at Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She and her husband John M. Joyce owned and operated Main Cafe in Salem and New Harmony, Ind. She attended Concord Methodist Church in Paducah.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Joyce Jerome of Newburgh, Ind.; a brother, Dennis Croft of Salem; a sister, Melva Shouse of Lola; two sisters-in-law, Anna May Croft of Evansville and Mary Croft of Salem; four grandchildren, McKayla Jerome Bohanna of Charleston, S.C., Timothy E. Jerome of Evansville, Jeffrey P. Joyce of Manassas, Va., and Mark D. Joyce of Placerville, Calif.; two great-granddaughters, Caroline E. Bohanna of South Carolina and Jacqueline Joyce of California; a step great-grandson, Darren Kyle of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews, including Joyce Belt of Rosiclare.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John M. Joyce and James M. Workman; a son, Col. John P. Joyce; three brothers, Oakley Croft, James H. Croft and Herman R. Croft, Jr.; and her parents, Herman R. Croft and Nettie C. Vaughn.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Dec. 7 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Boyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Armstrong
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ill. – Services for Jonathan Cody Armstrong, 22, will be held Dec. 8 at Leamington Community Church in Gallatin County, Ill., with Rev. Buddy Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Family Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Dec. 7 at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare.
Cox passed away Dec. 4.
Surviving are his wife, Stephanie (Patton) Armstrong; his mother, Reima Robertson of Rosiclare; his father, Tony Armstrong of Rosiclare; an expected daughter, Sophie Marie Armstrong; three sisters, Erin Mabrey of Cave In Rock and Heather Robertson and Jessica Armstrong, both of Rosiclare; his grandparents, Steve Daniel of Rosiclare, Ronald and Mary Ann Armstrong of Elizabethtown and Bill and Michelle Tennault of Creal Springs, Ill; his mother- and father-in-law, Danny and Linda Patton of Cave In Rock; a sister-in-law, Mandy Patton of Evansville.

Gass
Services for Blaine Gass, 75, of Marion, will be at 1 p.m., Dec. 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Joey Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.
Gass was a member of Ambassadors for Christ Church, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War and was a longtime employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Gass; four sons, Bradley Doom, Michael Shane Doom, Jaivon Doom, all of Marion, and Jerry Deatheridge of Lola; a sister, Clara J. Towery of Marion; and two grandchildren, Callie and JaCinda.
Alexander
Services for Harold Alexander, 88, of Marion, will be at 1 p.m., Nov. 30, 2006 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. A.C. Hodge, Rev. Jerry Thurman and Rev. Steve Graham will officiate with burial in Crayne Cemetery.
Alexander passed away Nov. 27 at Livingston Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy M. Alexander; two sisters, Marilyn Patterson of Evansville and Evelyn Herrenbuck of Boonville, Ind.; two granddaughters, Kim (Tony) Floyd of Marion and Michelle (Kevin) Garland of Benton; two stepgrandchildren, Amanda and Ally Floyd of Marion; three great-grandchildren, Kensley Bowerman of Benton and Rece Diles and Shelby Wahl, both of Marion; a son-in-law, Norvall Smith of Grand Rivers.
Alexander was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Smith. His parents were William Patton and Esma Brown Alexander
Mayes
James G. Mayes, 60, of Marion, passed away Nov. 21, 2006 at Crittenden Hospital.
Surviving are a son, Daren Mayes of LaGrange; two daughters, Karen Brady of LaGrange and Sabrina Hester of Cub Run; three brothers; one half brother; and six sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Edna Estes Mayes.
No services were held. Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Hardin
EDDYVILLE, Ky. – Services for Evelyn Hardin, 85, formerly of Crittenden County, were held Nov. 29, 2006 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville. Rev. James Oates officiated. Burial was in Crayne Cemetery.
Hardin was retired from Moore Business Forms and was a member of Dycusburg Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene (Peggy) Hardin of Paducah and Billy Hardin of Calvert City; a daughter, Linda (Mike) Sutton of Eddyville; a sister, Blanche Hearell of Marion; a brother, J.R. Tharp of Wanatah, Ind.; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.D. Hardin; and a great-grandchild, Cameron Hardin. Her parents were Alvin Tharp and Ilene Wesmoland Tharp.
Milton
Services for Eulah Olive Cook Milton, 94, of Marion, were Nov. 17, 2006 at Lola Pentecostal Church. Rev. Tim Fouts officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
She passed away Nov. 15 at Crittenden County Health & Rehab.
Milton once directed a 23-piece orchestra at Bethel Chapel Church where her father pastored. She and her husband Floyd ministered seven churches and were evangelists at many revivals. They retired to Dover, Tenn., but returned to Marion in their later years.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Floyd Milton; two daughters, Velva Belt of Granite City, Ill., and Sharon Belt of Marion; three grandchildren, Sharie Frazer of Marion, Boyce Belt of Granite City, Ill, and LaVonna Ennis of Nigeria, West Africa; eight great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Adrianne and Lee of Granite City, Jordan, Johnathan and JoHanna of Nigeria and Tucker and Regan Frazer of Marion.
Her parents were Rev. Ralph Cook and Lena Oliver Angelo.
Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Day
HAMPTON, Ky. – Barger O’Neal Day, 80, passed away Nov. 15, 2006 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of American Legion Post 217 at Burna.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Kathryn Day; a granddaughter, Chandra Ladd of Gilbertsville; two sisters, Dorothy McReynolds of Gilbertsville and Phyllis Ramage of Hampton; three great-grandchildren, Garrett Moberly and Brian Ladd, both of Murray, and Brandon Ladd of Gilbertsville; one great-great-grandson, Bryce Ladd of Gilbertsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Dickerson; and his parents, Courtney and Ora Mars Day.
Funeral services were held Nov. 16 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Birk officiating. Burial was in Hampton Cemetery.
