Calvin Meadows, 90, of Salem passed away March 28, 1999 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Meadows is survived by two sons, Jack M. Meadows of Salem and Tom Meadows of Providence.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roma Jewell Meadows; a daughter, Polly Crafford; and a son, Roy Meadows
Funeral services were held March 30 at Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro, Tenn. Burial was Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Gainsboro.
Harlan
Funeral services for Virginia Harlin, 78, of Barlow were held March 25 at Jones Funeral Home in Barlow with Rev. Tom Camp officiating. Burial was in Barlow Cemetery.
Harlan passed away March 23, 1999 at Western Baptist Hospital.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Barlow and the Barlow Women's Club.
Harlan is survived by her husband, James Harlan; three sons, Joe Harlan, of Barlow, Jerry Harlan of Paducah and James Harlan, III of Poplar Bluff, Miss.; four grandchildren; two nieces, Kristi Hughes and Rene Wallace of Marion; and a nephew, Jeff Hughes of Crossville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ewing Rudolph and Clyde Bailey Rudolph; and a sister, Marie Hughes.
Services were held March 25 at Jones Funeral Home of Barlow with Rev. Tom Camp officiating. Burial was in Barlow Cemetery.
Gass
Services for Daisy Gass, 88, of Hampton were held March 27 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland with Rev. Steve Dennehy officiating. Burial was in Scotts Chapel Cemetery.
Gass passed away March 24, 1999 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
She was the oldest member of Hampton United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by three daughters, Pauline Champion of Paducah, Gracie Davis of Hampton and Shirley Kegal of Ledbetter; two sons, Earnest Eugene Gass of Henderson and Sherman Gass of Hampton; one half brother, Tom Hampton of Evansville, Ind.; one sister, Beulah Stubs of Scottsmoor, Fla.; one half sister Jean Drendle of Cucumonga, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Gass; and three sons, James Lewis Gass, Franklin Gass and Herman Gass.
Croft
Nathan Croft, 90, of Burna passed away March 25, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital.
Croft is survived by his wife Carnella Croft of Burna; a son, Jim Croft of Ledbetter; a grandson, David Croft of Lone Oak; a granddaughter, Kimberly Croft of Lexington; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 27 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Thurman officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Damron
Services for Velva "Dink" Damron, 81, of Salem were held March 29, 1999 at Boyd Funeral Chapel in Salem with Revs. Russ Davidson and A.C. Hodge officiating.
Burial was in Tyner's Chapel Cemetery.
Damron is survived by a niece, Billy Jean Long of Lake Wales, Fla.; a great-niece, Shanda Woolman of Lake Wales; a great-nephew, Larry Mason of Paducah; a great-great niece, Amanda Woolman of Lake Wales; and two great-great nephews, Heath Woolman and Chase Woolman of Lake Wales.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Damron.
Turner
Ella Leaffa Turner, 88, of Ledbetter passed away March 25, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital.
She was a member of Liberty Grove Church.
Turner is survived by two sons, Joe Turner of Reidland, Todd Turner of McHenry, Ill.; seven daughters, Martha Rushing of Salem, Ethel Arnold of McDaniel, Dee Reese, Betty Owen and Brenda Patway all of Woodstock, Ill., Dianne Ziegler of Marengo, Ill. and Samantha Blake of Ledbetter; a brother, George Curnel of Marion; six sisters, Gracie Belt of Rose Bud Ariz., Muriel Belt of Salem, Mina McDaniel and Sara Curnel both of Marion, Pearl Wagoner of Paducah and Arla Givens of Carrsville; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford Turner; a son; a daughter; and her parents, Sam and Jennie Sullenger Curnel.
Funeral services were held March 29 at Boyd Funeral Chapel in Salem with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery.
Hosick
Mayme Perrin Hosick, 87, of Salem passed away March 25, 1999 at her home.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Hosick of Salem; a son, Allen Perrin of Blountsville, Ala.; two daughters, Nova Dunning of Burna and Wanda Teitloff of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two stepsons, Roy Hosick of Los Angeles, Calif., Charles Hosick of Edgewater, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Nancy Carlson of Yakima, Wash. and Mary Lou Wilson of Calahan, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Perrin; two brothers; a sister; and her parents, Barnett and Verda Ellen Lawrence Hosick.
Funeral services were held March 29 at Pleasant Grove General Baptist Church with Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery.
Gilliand
Vancie Gilliand, 90, of Marion passed away March 27, 1999 at her home.
She was a member of Cave Springs General Baptist Church.
Gilliand is survived by two sons, Tommy Gilliand of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Jerry Gilliand of Marion; three daughters, Martha Cox of Marion, Linnie Holloman of Marion and Mary Jones of Marion; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Gilliand; and a daughter, Golda Belt.
Services were held March 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Hinnard
Lenoir Hinnard, 80, of Fredonia passed away March 27, 1999 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Miss.
He was a World War II veteran and a retired steel worker.
Hinnard is survived by two sons, Richard Hinnard of Fredonia and Russell Hinnard of Marshall, Miss.; a daughter, Clara Bell Smith of Ridgecrest Calif.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Floy Story of Corvallis, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hinnard; and his parents, Thomas and Hattie Summers Hinnard.
Funeral services were held March 31 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Willard Walls officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery in Caldwell County.
