FREDONIA, Ky. – Services for Dorothy Boone Wheeler, 84, were held Oct. 25, 2006 at Morgan’s Funeral home in Princeton. Rev. David Fambrough and Dr. Jerrell White officiated. Burial was in Fredonia Cemetery.
Wheeler passed away Oct. 23 at Hilltop Nursing Home in Kuttawa. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fredonia.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Norman Wheeler; a son, James Wheeler of Fredonia; two daughters, Patricia Walker of Nashville and Judith Yates of Bowling Green; a brother, J.E. Boone of Princeton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm Boone; a sister, Elizabeth Bradshaw; and two granddaughters. Her parents were James Edward and Myrtie Jones Boone, Sr.
Gade
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Services for Virginia R. Gade, 82, were Oct. 12, 2006 at Hardy Valley Funeral Home. Burial was in Bethany Cemetery.
Gade passed away Oct. 9 at Norton Hospital. She was a retired bookkeeper for Watson Lane Elementary School and a lifetime member of the Jefferson County PTA.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Marie (Gerald) Kordes, Catherine (John) Hunt and Lucy (Robert) Phillips; a son, Larry (Vicki) Gade; eight grandchildren, Lisa Cooper, Julie Herrin, Jennifer Gade, Christopher Brown, Matthew Gade, Sara Morris, Amy Allen and Ashley Vinton; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred “Al” Gade.
Grace
CALVERT CITY, Ky. – Graveside services for Lois Edwards Grace, 83 were Oct. 12, 2006 at Rosebower Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Roger Rice and Rev. Edwin Waldrop officiated.
Grace passed away Oct. 10 at Superior Care Home-Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah. She was a homemaker and member of Rosebower Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, William Harold Grace; a son, Harold Wayne Grace of Marion; a daughter, Myra Grace Paschal of Calvert City; four sisters, Mabel Phelps of Calvert City and Robbie Jones, Shirley Mathis and Yvonne Truitt, all of Paducah; two brothers, Henry Steve Edwards of Calvert City and Harry Gene Edwards of Paducah; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Belt
Edward “Eddie” Belt, 64, of Marion, passed away Oct. 13, 2006 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, was a retired insulator with 36 years of service; and was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Belt; a daughter, Michelle Reddick of Marion; a son, David Belt of Paducah; a brother, Herschel Belt of Marion; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachelle Diane Belt.
Services were Oct. 16 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Brantley and Rev. DeAnn Thompson officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Eskew
RIO LINDA, Calif. – Opal Lucille York Eskew, 83, passed away Oct. 11, 2006. Services were Oct. 17 at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes in Sacramento, Calif.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Gale Bowen of Rio Vista and Karen Sue Avara of Rio Linda; a sister, Bonnell Love of Waco, Texas; three grandsons; two great-grandsons and many cousins in Crittenden County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Keith Eskew; and a brother, Robert William York. Her parents were Robert Marvin York and Lorene James.
Wells
SULLIVAN, Ky. – Ronnie Wells, 73, passed away Oct. 4, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Union County. He served in the U.S. Army, was a barber and was retired from Peabody Coal Company.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley WElls; his mother, Katie Hodge of Nashville; two daughters, Rhonda Marsh and Rosanne Wells, both of Sullivan; two sisters, Betty Meek of Nashville and Ann Clifton of Clarksville; a brother, Don Wells of Highland, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Services were Oct 8 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Noble Cobb officiating. Burial was in Sullivan Community cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice or Sullivan Baptist Church.
Williams
CENTRAL CITY, Ky. – Services for Dorothy M. Williams, 91, were Oct. 7, 2006 at Myers Funeral Home. Rev. John East officiated. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Williams passed away Oct. 4 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was a native of Crittenden County and member of Marion Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, John S. Williams of Central City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Shelby Williams; a son, Robert L. Perryman; four brothers; and a sister. Her parents were Willie and John Moore.

Payne
NORTONVILLE, Ky. – Services for Ruth Alize Payne, 87, were Oct. 8, 2006 at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville. Rev. Bobby Reno officiated. Burial was in Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton.
Payne passed away Oct. 5 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. She was a member of Nortonville Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Tommy Payne of Marion; three daughtrs, Sandy Lane of Hopkinsville, Paula Payne York of San Diego, Calif., and Cathy Payne of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Katherine Wagner of Nortonville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Payne; two brothers, Willis Huston Long and James Long; a sister, Mable Johnston; and her parents, Eugene Long and Girtie Long.
Garner
ENID, Okla. – Ruby Garner, 93, passed away Sept. 18, 2006 at Integris Bass Health Center. Burial was in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery in Cherokee, Okla.
She is survived by a sister, Edith King, and cousins Marvin Roberts and Ada Mae Hillyard.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Byran Blew, James R. Means and Glen Garner; two sisters, Gladys Blew and Betty Bales; and a brother, Jeffery Lamb. Her parents were Thomas Edgar and Ethel Crider Lamb of the Sugar Grove/Deanwood communities.
Foster
ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Ruth Jean Foster, 84, passed away Oct. 6, 2006 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Foster was a true “foster mom” to many children. She has many nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Wallace Foster; a son, Neal Lee Foster of Florida; a sister, Ruby Barfield of Marion; a grandson, Neal Lee Foster Jr., of Massachusetts; a niece, Susan Barfield of Marion; and two nephews, Jimmie Bigham and Clinton Bigham of Marion; and several cousins.
Her parents were William Fidella Bigham and Alma May Jennings Bigham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Services were Oct. 9 with burial in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, Mich.
Haney
DAYTON, Nev. – Cheryl Annette Haney, 48, passed away Sept. 22, 2006. Funeral servicees were Sept.28 at First Baptist Church in Carson City. She was a homemaker, and a Lyon County Sheriff Search and Rescue volunteer.
Among her survivors are her parents, Russell C. and Marilyn J. Eaton of Baldwin Park, Calif.; her husband, George M. Haney of Dayton; two daughters, Alison and Rhonda Haney of Dayton; a sister, Sara Dempsay of Phelan, Calif.; a brother Russell Eaton of Marion; and five nieces and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Tony Eaton.
