STURGIS, Ky. – Glenda “Tootsie” Johns McClanahan, 79, passed away Aug. 19, 2006 at her home.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Ratley of Sturgis and Mona Franklin of Salem; a son, Tim Johns of Sturgis; a brother, Charles “Buster” Omer of Sturgis; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fize Johns; her secnd husband, Boots McClanahan; and a sister, Katherine Hegg.
Services were Aug. 22 at Whitesell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Don Phelps officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery.
Harris
SALEM, Ky. – Services for Gracie L. Harris, 87, were Aug. 20, 2006 at Lola Pentecostal Church. Rev. Tim Fouts officiated. Burial was in Lola Cemetery.
Harris passed away Aug. 17, 2006 at Livingston Hospital. She was a member of Lola Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Christine Hunter, Wanda Damron, Brenda Bradford and Charlotte Harris, all of Salem; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Harris; a son, Charles Roy Harris; twin daughters; four sisters; two brothers. Her parents were Joseph Lacey and Henry Alice Todd Miller.
Watson
HENDERSON, Ky. – Donald Franklin Watson, 70, passed away Aug. 1, 2006 at his home. He retired as business manager of Methodist Hospital after 25 years and was a member of Keck Avenue Southern Baptist Church in Evansville, the Methodist Hospital volunteer board, a music staff member at Keck Avenue Baptist Church and was a founding member of the Southlanders Quartet. He was known as the Silver Fox.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Delores Watson; two daughters, Glenda Floyd of Henderson and Julie Westendorff of Alexandria, Va.; a son, Michael Martin of Henderson; a brother, Jackie Watson of Providence; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Aug. 5 at First Assembly of God in Henderson with Dr. Ron Osborn and Rev. Mike Ballard officiating. Entombment was in Fairmont Mausoleum. Benton-Glunt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

EDDYVILLE, Ky. – Carter Peek, 49, passed away Aug. 16, 2006 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
He was an iron worker for Local #601 in Paducah and a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm.
He is survived by a son, Corey Peek of Baton Rouge, La.; three daughters, Crystal Gavtreau of Geisman, La., Autumn Clark of Calvert City and Lettie Peek of Murray; three brothers, Huston Peek, Billy Peek and Ollie Peek, all of Fredonia; two sisters, Jeanine Ray of Dycusburg and Janet Peek of Benton; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Peek and Father Robert J. Dumminey; and his parents, Hubert Peek and Jessie Dee Turley Peek.
Services were Aug. 21 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Charles Ray officiating. Burial was in Caldwell Springs Cemetery
Martin
KUTTAWA, Ky. – Derrick Martin, 43, passed away Aug. 20, 2006 at his home. He was a direct staff caregiver for the Harralson House at Bright Life Farm near Princeton. He attended Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Caldwell County.
He is survived by his parents, Darrell and Bonnie Childress Martin; a brother, Doyle Martin of Lyon County; a sister, Donna Gilley of Marion; several nephews; and a niece.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Aug. 24 at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville with Rev. Terry Davis officiating.
Lakeland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Hall
KUTTAWA, Ky. – John F. Hall, 79, passed away Aug. 8, 2006 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Faye Brown Hall; a sister, LaVerne Jamriska of Sarasota, Fla.; a brother, Ben Hall of Lake Station, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Joseph Hall; three sisters; two brothers; and a nephew. His parents were Edward and Jennie McClure Hall.
Services were Aug. 12 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Bud Collins officiating. Burial was in Frances Cemetery.
Matthews
Orman Matthews, 66, of Marion, passed away Aug. 12, 2006 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a member of Repton Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Matthews of Marion; a daughter, Theresa Matthews of Fredonia; a sister, Rozella Singleton of Marion; a granddaughter, Grace Driskill of Fredonia; and his mother, Gwennie Matthews of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Matthews.
Services were Aug. 14, 2006 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Victor Hill officiated. Burial was in Repton Cemetery.
Koon
Services for Mary Etta Koon, 87, of Marion, were held Aug. 14, 2006 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Cortis Hill officiated. Burial was in Tyner’s Chapel Cemetery.
Koon passed away Aug. 11 at Crittenden County Health and Rehab. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Frances Holliman of Salem; a son, William Jake Koon of Marion; a brother, Jimmy George of Dixon; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Wayne Koon; her husband, Jake Koon; four brothers; and two sisters. Her parents were Herman George and Driskill Conyer George.
Bebout
Dorothy Nell Bebout, 74, of Marion, passed away Aug. 12, 2006 at her home. Services were Aug. 16 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Starrick officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Marion and a former member of Trace Creek Baptist Church in Mayfield.
Surviving are three daughters, Paula Oliver of Fredonia, Patricia Brown of Mayfield and Phyllis Martin of Marion; a son, Stephen Bebout of Paducah; two sisters, Mildred Jones of Marion and Blonda Minner of Marion; a brother, Doyle Sherer of Marion; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Pearl Sullenger Sherer; a brother; and three sisters.
Eigel
TANGENT, Ore. - Peggy A. Eigel, 60, passed away Aug. 9, 2006 at her home. She was born in Sturgis, Ky., and moved to Oregon in 1990. She was a lifelong volunteer, mostly at her church and through Greater Albany Public Schools at the Albany Education Center. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Albany second ward.
Surviving are her husband, Wayne E. Eigel; two daughters, Ann Cisneros of Monmouth, Ore., Rebecca Eigel of Tangent, Ore., and Stephen Eigel of Salem, Ore.; her mother Margaret Berry of Salem; two brothers, James Harold “Red” Berry of Marion and Carroll Berry of Salem; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold; and a sister, Mary Berry.
Services were Aug. 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with burial at Willamette Memorial Park.
Fisher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
