Mae Flanery, 102, passed away Dec. 25, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
Flanery was the oldest member of Marion United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. Flanery and her husband were the former owners and bookkeepers of the Standard Oil Company in Marion. She was a member of the Marion Woman’s Club, member of the Crittenden Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and was one of the last remaining widows of a World War I veteran left in Crittenden County. She was also the bookkeeper at Johnson’s Furniture for 25 years.
Survivors include her nephew, John Oxford of Victoria, Canada and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Flanery, who passed away May 8, 1972; her parents, John R. and Bell Beard Oxford; and four brothers, Russell, Paris, Ray and Escholl Oxford.
Funeral services were Friday December 28, 2007 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating. Burial was at Cave Hill Cemetery in Cave In Rock, Ill.
Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion was in charge of arrangements.

DeBoe
Funeral services for Calvin DeBoe, Jr. 74, of Salem, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Bro. Leslie Joyce officiating. Burial will be in Pinkneyville Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday.
DeBoe passed away at his home Jan. 1, 2008. He was born on Claude Kitchen's farm at Pinkneyville to Joseph Calvin Sr. and Elva Mae Fryar DeBoe. He was a retired coal miner and farmer. He was a charter member of Salem Methodist Church and a member of Pinkneyville Baptist Church, UMWA and the American Legion Post 217.
DeBoe served during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy, spending three birthdays at sea near the Korean shoreline. His ship was shelled twice in one week. He also served in the Kentucky National Guard for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife, Terry Lee Tilton DeBoe; his mother-in-law, Etta May Tilton; his children, Connie Yvonne (Joe) Riley of Eddyville, Donna Mae Kuester of Evansville, Ind., William Calvin (Tiffany) DeBoe of Marion and Charles David (Ann) DeBoe of Marion; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; foster sister, Geneva (Eugene) Threlkeld of Carrsville; foster brothers, Charles (Margaret) Fryar of Princeton and Billy Fryar of Eddyville; half-sisters, Sue (Abe) Jones of Antlers, Okla., Shirley (Cecil) Spangler of Christopher, Ill. and Linda (Walter) DeVilley of Fenton, Mo.; half-brother, J.E. (Bobbie) Brasher of Marion; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
DeBoe was preceded in death by one infant son; an infant granddaughter; his mother, Elva Mae Fryar; his father, Joseph Calvin DeBoe Sr.; foster parents, Omer and Ovelia Fryar; father-in-law, Dwight W. Tilton; and step-mother, Virginia DeBoe.
Dove
Sandra Dove, 53, of Paducah passed away at 3:24 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
She was an employee of Western Baptist Hospital and attended Four Rivers Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Dove; a daughter Angie (Nathan) Curnel of Marion; two sons, Michael Dove and Brice (Stacey) Doe, all of Ledbetter; a brother, Terry Lemon; and three grandchildren, Ashton Dove, Devin Dove and Riley Curnel.
Her parents were Marion Luther Lemon and Nellie Powell Lemon.
Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 28 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah with Dr. Brad Henson officiating. Burial was at Clark's River Cemetery in Paducah.
Adams
Danny Eugene Adams, 47, of Marion passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 at his home.
An active hunter and fisherman, he was owner and operator of Adams Logging and was active in the Girl Scouts for six years.
Survivors include his former wife, Marketta Adams; parents Charles and Edna Adams; daughters Pamela Sue Adams Kirk and Rebecca Danielle Nicole Adams, all of Marion; and two brothers, Jeremy Colby of Clarksville, Tenn., and Jason Colby of Bethamy, Okla.
Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 27 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Phillip Dunning officiating. Burial was at White’s Chapel Cemetery.
Hagstrom
Hazel LaVerne Hagstrom, 84, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 in Katy, Texas where she and her husband had recently moved.
Hagstrom was born on Sept. 9, 1923 in Marion to Perce Ray Taylor and Gladys Enoch Taylor.
Survivors include her husband of 61 loving years, Walter Gus Hagstrom; sons, Garry (Teresa) Lee of Houston, Texas, and Steven (Stephanie) Erik of Woodinville, Wash.; grandchildren, William, Sarah, Eric, Brad, Lindsay and Brian.
Hagstrom retired in 1983 from Arkla, Inc. in Evansville. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Evansville, president of her Sunday school class and an active volunteer in the church library. She was a great seamstress and enjoyed knitting, needlework and reading. She loved music and was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. She will be remembered for her special fondness of butterflies, her family said.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 29 in Katy, Texas with Rev. Jerry Thomas officiating. Entombment was at Memorial Oaks Cemetery Mausoleum in Houston.

Chittenden
Funeral services for James Carter Chittenden, 80, of Smithland were at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Bro. Gary Murray officiating. Burial was at Good Hope Cemetery.
Chittenden passed away at 4:25 p.m., Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Chittenden of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one sister, Katie Chandler of Salem; a brother, George Chittenden of Smithland; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Chittenden was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Newton and Linnie Ada Mitchell Chittenden; three sisters; and two brothers.
Asbridge
John W. Asbridge, 89, of Marion passed away at 1:53 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was born March 31, 1918 in Tiline. Asbridge was a retired coal miner and attended Frances Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, John “Sonny” Asbridge of Marion; a daughter, Mary Ann Johnson of Hillsdale, Ill., a special friend, Elsie Stone of Crayne; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Belle Ward Asbridge; a brother, Don Earl Asbridge; and a grandson, Jeffery Koon.
Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 28 at Myers Funeral Home in Marion with Bro. Darrell “Butch” Gray officiating. Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion.
Fox
Roy Jasper Fox, 70, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Fox was born in Crittenden County Aug. 25, 1937 to the late Jasper and Edna Fox. He retired from Alcan Aluminum in 1995 after 22 years as a supervisor. He was a big UK basketball fan and enjoyed NASCAR and western movies. He loved gardening, and was a fan and supporter of Kentucky Wesleyan for more than 15 years, and an All American Club member. He was co-owner, along with his wife, of Fox Creations Inc., for 13 years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Hollis Gene Fox; and a sister, Jean Tabor.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mona Fox; a son, Jeff (Geri) Fox of Owensboro; a daughter, Tina (Russell) Brewer of Madisonville; and daughter, Theresa Meadors of Marion; a step-son, Tommy (Tammy) Basham of Owensboro; a step-daughter, Tammy Brown of Owensboro; eight grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tommy (Barb) Fox of St. Louis.
Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 28 at Glenn Funeral Home which included Masonic rites. Entombment was at Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Martin
Janie Martin, 65, of Princeton, passed away at 6:25 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at Caldwell County Hospital after a short illness. Martin was born Sept. 20, 1942 in Beckley, West Virginia.
Martin was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents Silas Pyatt and Maude Elizabeth Brown West, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Martin; eight children, Tammy Glass and Charles (Vivian) Martin, both of Marion, Teresa Powell of Russellville, Terry Toms of Glasgow and Teana (Dwayne) Hale, Lisa (Sean) Schumacher, Victor (Cathy) Martin and Melissa (Greg) Williams, all of Princeton; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Virginia Scott of Gilbertsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 28 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Eric Archuleta officiating. Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
