Miles Brandon, 51, of Calvert City and formerly of Marion, passed away Friday at 1:55 a.m. at his home.
He was born in Madisonville and worked as an Asbestos-Abatement for M.P.S., Inc.. at TVA-Shawnee Fossil Plant. He was also a Member of the Asbestos Workers Union Local #207.
Survivors include his wife Ginger Leigh Green Brandon of Calvert City; his mother Sarah Knight Brandon of Paducah; a sister, Sara Kay Ransdell of Gulfport, Miss.; a brother, Richard Knight Brandon of Georgetown; four nieces and nephews, Brandon Blake and Cal Parker, both of Gulfport, Miss.; Sarah Katherine Brandon and Richard Miles Brandon II, both of Georgetown, Ky.
Brandon was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Richard Miles Brandon.
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday Oct. 22 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating. Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion.

Caniff
Anna Rose Caniff, 57, of Bonita Springs, Fla., formerly of Marion, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at Naples, Fla.
She was a member of Estero Methodist Church in Estero, Fla., a member of the Spring Run 9 Hole Ladies Golf Association, worked at Potter & Brumfield in Marion and was for 11 years the owner of Pood’s Restaurant in Princeton, Ind. She had been a real estate agent at Gulf Coast Realty in Florida.
Survivors include her husband, Jay Caniff of Bonita Springs; three sons, Todd (Sarah) Riley of Marion, Chris (Andrea) Caniff and Colt Caniff, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; three sisters, Brenda (Terry) Coleman of St. Louis, Jean (Dale) Smith of Calvert City and Joan (Lynn) Scarbrough of Burna; and five grandchildren, Paxton and Payton Riley of Marion and Conner, Alexa and Addyson Caniff of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Wanda Thompson.
A memorial service in Marion will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Burdon and Rev. Keith Davis officiating. Burial will be at Hampton Cemetery.

Oliver
Funeral services for Stanley “Hawk” Oliver, 81, will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Thurman officiating. Visitation will be held starting at 10 a.m., Friday.
Oliver passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2007 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Ill. He was well known for his organization of the Marion High School reunions held annually on the July 4 holiday weekend. He was a Kentucky Colonel and had been given the Key to the City of Marion for his work with the annual school reunion.
Survivors include two daughters, Cetyl Gatena and Tamela Oliver; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two daughters-in-law, Janie and Judy Oliver.
Oliver was preceded in death by his wife, Tina; and two sons, Jim and Bill Oliver.
Burial at Mapleview Cemetery will follow the funeral.
Lane
Rebecca Doom Lane, 52, of Eddyville passed away at 8:10 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007 at her residence.
She was a retired correctional guard for the Kentucky State Penitentiary in Eddyville and a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Caldwell County.
Survivors include three daughters, Jessica Colson of Wichita, Kan., Lara Lane of Nashville and Ashley Lane of Paducah; a grandson, Camron Colson of Wichita and her mother and step-father, Dottie and Jimmy Manley of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harland Doom, her paternal grandparents, George and Iva Shewcraft Doom, and her maternal grandparents, Leslie and Dolly Doom McClure.
Services were at 11 a.m., today (Thursday, Oct. 18) at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville. Visitation was Wednesday night from 5-8. Burial will be at Dycusburg Cemetery.
LaRue
Fannie Louise LaRue, 83, passed away at 10:45 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
Survivors include her sons, Roger Dale LaRue and Robert Glen LaRue, both of Fredonia; Larry Joe LaRue of Mayfield, John Wayne LaRue of Florida and James Newton LaRue of Eddyville; daughters, Charlotte Ann Conger of Fredonia and Janet Louise Lyles of Paducah; a sister, Connie Faye Perryman of Marion; brothers, John Ed Cash of Arkansas and William Garland Cash of Harrosburg; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
LaRue was preceded in death by her husband, James Jap LaRue; two sisters; one brother and her parents, William Homer Cash and Margaret Ruby Mayfield Cash.
Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 12 at Boyd Funeral Chapel in Salem with Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial was at Salem Cemetery.
Hollis
Guy Hollis, 50, of Sturgis passed away at 5:14 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Hollis of Sturgis; a daughter Lucy (Richard) Belanger of Fort Knox; two sons, Michael (Jeanna) Ramage of Morganfield and Josh (Amber) Sindeff of Sturgis; three sisters, Bonnie Jackson of Eddyville, Betty Hill of Sturgis and Vicky Cox of Fredonia; two brothers, James Hollis of Marion and George “Porkchop” Hollis Jr. of Sturgis; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 13 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Stacy Foster officiating. Burial was at Loveless Chapel Cemetery in Salem.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Croft
Mitchell R. Croft, 50, of Eddyville passed away at 12:20 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
He was of Baptist faith.
Croft is survived by a son, Josh Croft, and a grandson, Thomas Mitchell Croft, both of Corydon, Ind.; his mother, Pat Downs Hunt of Marion; two brothers, Dale Croft of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Derek Croft of Salem; a sister, Tina Culver of Burna; and his step-mother, Mary Croft of Salem.
He was preceded in death by his father, Junior Croft.
Services were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Gordon Downs and Rev. Michael Grimes officiating. Burial was at Hampton Cemetery in Livingston County.
Paris
Dorothy Lee Paris, 88, of Marion passed away at 2 a.m., Thursday Oct. 11, 2007 at Crittenden County Health & Rehab Center.
Born Aug. 22, 1919 in Crittenden County, she was a member of Marion Christian Church and former owner of Paris Upholstery in Marion.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris Ann Hodge, and a son, Mike Paris, both of Marion; a step-son, Eddie Paris of Evansville; step-daughter, Gelima Paris Hutcherson of Buffalo, Ky.; a brother, Paul A. Hunt of Carlisle, Iowa; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Paris was preceded in death by her husband, Jamie H. Paris; a son, James F. Paris; her parents, Issac and Maggie Long Hunt; and 10 siblings.
Funeral services were Sunday, Oct. 14 at Myers Funeral Home with Rev. Cortis Hill officiating. Burial was a Paris Cemetery.
Jones
Lottie B. Quertermous Jones, 77, of Henshaw passed away at 2:39 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Edward E. Jones; two daughters, Brenda Jones of Henshaw and Dena Davis of Waverly; five sons, Darrel Jones of Sturgis, Dorris “Bud” Jones and Doyle Jones, both of Henshaw; Donald Jones of Flora, Ill., and Roger Jones of Darmstadt, Ind.; a sister, Ruby Phillips of Marion; a brother, Bill Quertermous of Grand Prairie, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aleck Levi Quertermous and Hettie Flora Tudor Quertermous.
Funeral services were Oct. 2 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Rev. Jim Lane officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Morganfield.
Porterfield
Vanessa Porterfield, 45, of Fredonia passed away at 8:33 p.m., Oct. 16, 2007 at her home.
She was a member of the Frances Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Evert Porterfield of Fredonia; a son, Brandon Joe Wagoner of Frances; a daughter, Brittany June Wagoner of Fredonia; a brother, Richie Lindsey of Frances; her father, Larry Lindsey of Marion; a sister, Teresa Miniard of Marion; her mother, Faye Brown of Frances; a grand-daughter, Catelyn Wagoner of Sullivan and two nieces.
Porterfield was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Wagoner.
Funeral services were Friday with Rev. Lonnie Knight officiating.
