Funeral services for Evelyn McCain, 67, of Marion will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 13 (today) at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. George Ponnell Bruton officiating. Visitation was Wednesday evening.
McCain passed away at 6:15 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at Crittenden Health and Rehab. Burial will be at Mapleview Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Wyle McCain of Marion; two sons, Charles Folden and Michael Thomas of Evansville; three daughters, Gloria Whitlock and Barbara Moss of Evansville and Anna Lee of Paducah; two sisters and several grandchildren.
Hughes
Funeral services for Ronnie “Doorknob” Hughes will be at 1 p.m., Saturday at Myers Funeral Home. Visitation will be held starting at 6 p.m., Friday.
Hughes, 68, passed away at 7:15 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 at his home following a lengthy illness.
A member of Deer Creek Baptist Church, Hughes was retired from Smith Contracting Company. He was a member of the Marion City Council from 1994-2004, served on the board of directors for the Pennyrile Area Development District and Pennyrile Allied Community Services.
Born Aug. 30, 1939 in Marion, Hughes was the son of Virgil and Cloyce Stephenson Hughes.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hughes of Marion; a son, Ronald Dane Hughes of Cadiz; a stepson, Jamison Belt of Hot Springs, Ark.; three brothers, Denton Hughes of Tampa, Fla., Nelson Hughes of Marion, and Douglas Hughes of Ashburn, Ga.; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Mapleview Cemetery Saturday afternoon following the funeral. Rev. Brad Hall and Rev. Rich Gardner will officiate.

Pugh
Graveside services for Lillian Grace Pugh, infant daughter of Christopher and Misty Pugh of Marion, were Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 at White’s Chapel Cemetery in Crittenden County.
Survivors include paternal grandmother, Mary Pugh of Marion; maternal grandparents, Bobby and Brenda Pierson of Sturgis; maternal great-grandfather, Jerry Beach of Providence; and several aunts and uncles.
Myers Funeral Home in Marion was in charge of the arrangements.
Hardy
Joint memorial services for Mr. Jesse Keith Hardy and Mrs. Ruth Riley Hardy of Orlando, Fla., and Paducah will be at 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem with the Rev. Mark Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Hampton Cemetery.
Mr. Hardy passed away Saturday morning at Medco Center in Henderson and Mrs. Hardy passed away August 20, 2002 in Orlando, Fla.
Mr. Hardy was a World War II veteran where he served in the 2nd Infantry Division.
He is survived by many nieces, great nieces and nephews, and two special friends, Farline Ramage and Bea Hardin and one sister-in-law.
Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his parents, Markey “Dude” and Luna Myrick Hardy. Mr. Hardy was also preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie “Baby Doll” Hardy and one brother, L.C. “Luther” Hardy.
Visitation will be between 1 p.m., and the funeral hour on Friday, Sept. 7 at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors.
Hughes
Funeral services for Michael Lynn Hughes, 46, of Smithland, will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors with Rev. Brian Hayes officiating.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Thursday (today) at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors.
Hughes passed away at 12:15 p.m., Sept. 4, 2007 at Livingston Hospital and Healthcare. He was a member of Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Calvert City.
He is survived by his wife, Dana Hughes of Smithland; parents, George, Jr. and Odetta Teitloff Hughes of Paducah; children, Jessica Campbell and Rachel Hughes, both of Paducah; step-children, Courtney Ward and Paul Lee, both of Smithland; sisters, Rita Lichtenburg of Draffenville and Venita Wilson of Paducah; brothers, Gene Hughes of Sharpe and Dennis Hughes of Ledbetter; grandchildren, Seth Campbell and Ty Campbell, both of Paducah.
Keeling
Walter T. “Buddy” Keeling Jr., 61, of Burna passed away at 2:20 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007 at Livingston Hospital.
Services will begin at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Bro. Brent Lee and Bro. Jimmy Keeling officiating.

Keeling attended Friendship Baptist Church in Smithland and was an ordained minister. He was also a member of the NRA and Local Union 1969 International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers.
Survivors include his wife, Diann Keeling of Burna; his mother, Sarah Lee Keeling of Burna; a son, William Dale “Billy” (Janet) Keeling of Burna; a daughter, Tammy Diann Query of Hardin; two brothers, Jimmy Kenneth (Delores) Keeling of Newbern, Tenn., and Ronald Wayne (Donna) Keeling of Tiline; five grandchildren, Whitney Nicole Myers and Cody Myers both of Draffenville, Amber Nicole Keeling of Burna, and Karmen Leean Harbert and James Thomas Query, both of Hardin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Thomas Keeling Sr.
Howard
Carlton “Boots” Howard, 94, of Dycusburg passed away at 11:15 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007 at Rivers Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa.
He was a retired grocer, formerly owning and operating Howard’s Grocery in Dycusburg. Howard was also a self-employed farmer and veteran of the World War II Merchant Marines. He was a Kentucky Colonel and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, John (Becky) Howard of Eddyville; a daughter, Ann (Gene) Stoehr of Eddyville; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Hall Marshall Howard; a brother, Seldon Howard; and his parents, Rufus Warren Howard and Ruby Ferguson Howard.
Services were Tuesday, Aug. 28 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Mike Grimes officiating. Burial was at Dycusburg Cemetery.
Kimbrell
Thurman Andrew Kimbrell, 71, of Marion passed away at 6:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007 at Tradewater Point Nursing Home in Dawson Springs.
Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. No formal services were planned.
Kimbrell is survived by his wife, Frances Kay Kimbrell of Marion; a son, William Glenn Kimbrell of Marion; two sisters, Ruby Feltman and Genella Thornton, both of Alabama; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Fulks
Clara Fulks, 72, of Eddyville passed away at 9:10 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007 at Livingston Hospital in Salem.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Willard Fulks; three daughters, Rebecca Downing of Kuttawa, Lois (Randy) Rushing of Dycusburg and Judy Turner of Paducah; a stepson, Roy Lynn Fulks of Marion; two brothers, Johnny Brown of Marion and Chester Brown of Salem; five sisters, Ada Peek and Kathy Nelson of Mishawaka, Ind., Dorothy Patton of Eddyville, Bobbi Brasher of Salem and Betty Jean Fitzgerald of Nashville; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Fulks was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther Peek; her second husband, Mahlon Jackson; a daughter, Tina Peek; two sisters, Edna Calvert and Joyce Williamson; and by her parents, Ross and Naomi Cox Brown.
Services were Saturday, Aug. 25 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Lonnie Knight and Rev. Kenneth Odom officiating. Burial was at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.
Holland
Baptist minister Gordon Holland, 62, of Creswell passed away at 9:25 p.m., at Crittenden Hospital.
He was pastor of Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Crittenden County and formerly pastor at several other area churches including Dycusburg Baptist, Lake City Baptist, Sugar Creek Baptist, Mint Springs Baptist, New Hopewell Baptist and Mount Haven Baptist.
The funeral was scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Jerry Thurman officiating. Burial was to be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Baker Holland; a son, Eddie (Melissa) Holland of Calvert City; three grandchildren, Braden, Conner and Abigail; two brothers, Bobby Holland of Princeton and Dickie Holland of Calvert City; a sister Dottie Peters of Eddyville; and several nieces and nephews.
Holland was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Juanita Prescott Holland; a daughter, Gail Richardson; and three brothers, Clinton, Buddy and Billy Holland.
