Dr. Dorris J. Hutchison, 88, a microbiologist who was a pioneer in cancer research at the Sloan-Kettering Institute, passed away in Westerly, R.I., on May 9, 2007.
She is survived by three nieces, Jane Pack, Carole Albright and Linda Caterine; three grand nieces and nephews, Gayle Click, David Pack and John Robert Pack; eight great nieces and nephews; and three godchildren.
Hutchison was preceded in death by her parents John and Maud Hutchison; a sister, Alene Dabney; and a brother, Ray Hutchison.
Her final memorial celebration was Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at the Carrsville Cemetery in Carrsville. A brunch and short program was held at the Carrsville Community Center following the graveside memorial.
Arrangements were handled by Boyd Funeral Directors.

Young
Armilda J. Young, 71, of Ledbetter passed away at 3:50 a.m., Thursday, June 28 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehab.
She was a member of the Eastern Star at Columbus, Ga., the Homemakers of Livingston County and Lady Shriners of Wasilla, Alaska.
Young is survived by her husband, Wayne Young of Ledbetter; sons David Young of Wasilla, Alaska, Robert Young of Paducah, Bruce Young of Fort Wayne, Ind., and John Young of Paducah; brothers, John May of Fort Wayne, Ind., Jim May of St. Paul, Minn., Myron May of Anderson, Ind., and Byron May of Indianapolis, Ind; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Her parents were Russell and Harriet Boots May.
Funeral services will be at Meacham Funeral Home in Albany, Ind. Local arrangements were handled by Boyd Funeral Directors.
Sisco
Christine M. Sisco, 74, of Marion passed away at 10:43 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehab.
Sisco is survived by two sons, Paul Sisco of Fredonia and David Sisco of Crayne; a brother, Richard Yester of Ann Arbor, Mich; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Sisco.
Services were Saturday, June 30 at Boyd Funeral Chapel in Salem with Father Larry McBride officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Jordan
Funeral services for Billie "Bill" Don Jordan, 69 of Cookeville, Tenn., were Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Farina, Illinois with Rev. Don Price officiating. Interment was in Farina City (Ill.) Cemetery.
Memorial services were Sunday, July 1 at Cookeville First Baptist Church with Dr. Randall Adkisson and Rev. Charles Hutchinson officiating.
Jordan passed away Monday, June 25, 2007 at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1938 in Ballard County, Ky., to the late John and Martha Wallace Jordan.
Jordan was a member of Cookeville First Baptist Church, and a U.S. Navy veteran. Before moving to Cookeville, he was an active member of First Southern Baptist Church in Farina where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Jordan graduated from Heath High School in western Kentucky where he was an outstanding basketball player. He played college basketball for Southeast Missouri State University and for the U.S. Navy. He is a member of the Sports Hall of Fame at Southeast Missouri State University. Jordan earned his bachelor’s degree in education at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and his master’s degree in administration at Murray State University. His teaching career included schools in Missouri, Tennessee and Illinois where he taught math and coached basketball. He also served as principal in the LaGrove School District in Farina, Ill.
Jordan is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Joyce Owsley Jordan; a son, Mark (Joni) Jordan of Kevil, Ky., a daughter, Lori (Dean) Marlow of Murfreesboro, Tenn., five grandchildren; Jeremy Jordan, Blake Marlow, Caleb Marlow, Gaven Marlow and Hannah Marlow; two nieces, Cathy Travis of Cookeville and Sherry Galloway of Murfreesboro; and two nephews; Keith Owsley of Racine, Wisc., and Kendall Owsley of West Palm Beach, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Jordan, and sister, Joyce Titsworth.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Jordan, Dean Marlow, Adam Jaynes, Blake Marlow, Caleb Marlow and Gaven Marlow.

Nunn
James C. “J.C.” Nunn, 87, of Danville, Ind., passed away May 30, 2007 at Indianapolis.
Nunn, who was born Sept. 3, 1919 in Anniston, Mo., was a Marion High School graduate. He was a gear lab technician for Allison Manufacturing for 30 years. He retired in 1981. Nunn was a volunteer for Wycliffe Bible Translators of Dallas, Texas and was U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Lucille Yandell Nunn; four brothers and two sisters.
Nunn is survived by daughters, Judith Profitt of Columbus, Sharon Newby of Brownsburg, Jerri Curless of Indianapolis and Teresa Navarrette of Herndon, Va.; a brother, Thomas Nunn of Wilkesboro, N.C., 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were June 2 at Hendricks Community Bible Church in Danville. Entombment was in Danville South Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements were handled by Baker Funeral Home of Danville.
Heaton
Mary Beth Heaton, 83, of Princeton passed away at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 3 at her home following a short illness.
She was a homemaker and member of the Southside Baptist Church.
Heaton is survived by her husband Dewey Thomas Heaton Sr.; one son, Thomas (Russene) Heaton of Marion; two daughters, Alice (John) Segree of Hopkinsville and Shrilda (Tyrone) French of Princeton; two brothers, Bill Nichols of Princeton and Jack Nichols of Kuttawa; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon, Charles, Edwin and Fred Nichols; and one sister, Alice Lucinda Nichols. Her parents were Fred and Johnnie Hays Nichols.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, July 5 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 6 with Rev. John Benton and Rev. Delton Beall officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Malcom
Peggy Malcom, 65, of Crayne passed away at 8:25 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
She was a member of the Mexico Baptist Church and was for many years the director of Crittenden County Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Malcom; a daughter, Leanne Hutchings of Lexington; a son, Kayle Malcom of Robards; a brother, Kerry Crider of Ledbetter; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, June 25 at Mexico Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Burdon officiating. Burial was at Mexico Cemetery.
Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Lockhart
Hugh Dempsey Lockhart, 83, of Marion passed away at 6:45 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, a 50-year member of the Salem Masonic Lodge 81, member of the Plumbers Local Union 210 in Merriville, Ind., for 50 years and a member of the Pipefitters Union.
Lockhart is survived by his wife, Dorothy F. Lockhart; a step-daughter, Dolores (Kenneth) Belt of Marion; a nephew, Donnie (Helen) Tharp of Salem; one great-nephew, Mark Tharp of Murfreesboro, Tenn., one great-niece, Donna Brewer of Cummings, Ga.; three step-grandchildren, Lacinda N. Files of Springdale, Ark., Melissa D. (Dennis) O’Leary of Sturgis, Jeremy S. (Jessica) Belt of Marion; four step-great-grandchildren, Zachary W. Files, Suzannah N. Files and Wesley K. Files, all of Springdale, and Jaxon Belt of Marion.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Tharp, and his parents, Hugh Lockhart and Pearl Tyner Lockhart.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 26 at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem. Bro. Paul Cannon and Bro. Rob Ison officiated. Burial was at Salem Cemetery.
Travis
A memorial service for Douglas “Doug” Jackson Travis, 88, of Paducah was Monday, June 18, 2007 at Lone Oak United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Dr. Ben Boone officiated. Burial was scheduled for a later date.
Travis, originally from Marion, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007, at his Paducah home.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a 60-year employee of the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources. Travis was a member of Quail Unlimited, the National Wild Turkey Federation, lifetime member of Ducks Unlimited, American Red Cross, director of Camp John Currie, member of the Water Safety Council, a Golden Glove Boxer, attended Murray State College, was a member of Murray State College Boxing Team, member of the National Rifle Association, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and a lifelong conservationist.
Surviving are his wife, Patty Babb Travis; four daughters, Shannon (Eddie) Mills of Bowling Green, Julie (Ronnie) Lowery of Brentwood, Tenn., Barbara Butler of Nolensville, Tenn., and Peggy (David) Denham of Cleveland, Tenn.; one son, Leslie Adams of Paducah; one sister, Iris Ann Shiver of Gallatin, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Travis Mills and Makayla Mills, both of Bowling Green, Ashley Lowery and Sarah Lowery, both of Brentwood, Kyle Denham and Rebecca Butler, both of Nolensville, and Amanda Denham and Rachael Denham, both of Cleveland, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jo Jenkins, and one brother, Reginald Travis. His parents were George Jackson Travis and Iris A. Guess Travis.
