Mildred “Millie” Bowerman-Walter, 76, passed away at 6:55 p.m., Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Three Rivers Health in Three Rivers, Mich., following an illness.
Born Nov. 3, 1930 in Dycusburg, she was a retired certified nurses assistant from Cass County Medical Care Facility in Cassopolis, Mich. She moved from Kentucky to Cassopolis 53 years ago.
She is survived by a son, Steven R. Bowerman of Niles, Mich.; two granddaughters, Shelia (David) Boodt of White Pigeon, Mich., and Amber Bowerman of Portage, Mich; two sisters, Shirley Minner of Marion and Hazel Owen of Fredonia; a daughter-in-law, Denise Bowerman of White Pigeon, Mich.; and a brother James A. (Diann) Turley of Paducah; a grandson, Princeton Wright of Portage; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Bowerman; four sisters and two brothers.
Services were Wednesday, June 20 at Connelly Funeral Home in Cassopolis with Rev. John McClimans officiating. Burial was at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Cassopolis.
Lott
Elwood H. Lott, 69 of Frances passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 10:10 p.m., at his home.
He is survived by his wife Susie; two sons Stanley Joe Lott and Michael Elwood Lott of Frances; one daughter Vicki Jo (Rob) Burris of Marion; four grandchildren Derek, A’Deana, Cheyenne and Levi Burris; one sister Doris (Raymond) Bailey of Evansville, Ind.; one sister-in-law Ann Lott of Indianapolis, Ind., and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Hice Lott and Addie Mae Davidson Lott; one brother Robert Glenn Lott and one sister Christine Mae Lott.
He was a member of the Frances Presbyterian Church, the Victory Way Quartet and WKGMA. Elwood was retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department.
Pallbearers were Don Owen, Wayne Coleman, Phillip Tabor, Jerry McDonald, Gerald Ford and Carol Wayne Croft.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Wednesday June 13, 2007 at Frances Presbyterian Church with Bro. Daryl “Butch” Gray officiating and Rev. A.C. Hodge assisting. Burial followed in the Frances Cemetery.
Hodge
Gabriela “Gaby” Hodge, 56, of Cadiz passed away June 5, 2007 in Gautier, Miss., at her mother’s home.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Curtis Wynn of Fredonia; a grandchild, Miranda; mother, Magdalena Felts; three sisters, Patricia Santiago, Pamela Felts of Chicago and Gina Edwards of Gautier, Miss.; two nieces Jessica Norris and Sara Felts; and a great-niece, Trisha. ‘
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald “Coffee Bean” Hodge of Marion; father, Robert Dean Felts; and great-niece Gabriella Wells.

Orenduff
T.W. Orenduff, 68, of Hardin, Ky., formerly of Marion, passed away June 6, 2007 at 12:45 a.m., at his home.
Orenduff is survived by his wife Judy Orenduff of Hardin; a son, Tom Orenduff of Hampton; three daughters, Clara Spurlock of Anna, Ill., Barbara Wilson of Olin, Ill., and Merri Seals of Brookport, Ill.; two sisters, Helen Head of Marion and Ina Morse of Salem; a brother, Richard Orenduff of Marion; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Allie and Mima Jane Orenduff; a stepfather Russell Jones; a son, Mark Orenduff; and a brother, Larry Orenduff.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 9 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. David Winders officiating. Burial was at Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Ramey
Jerry Ramey, 62, of Grand Rivers passed away at 7:28 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
He is survived by three brothers, Don Ramey of Mayfield; Bill Ramey of Grand Rivers and Charlie Ramey of Kuttawa; two sisters, Glenice Stafford of Madison, Tenn., and Diane Wallace of Marion.
Ramey was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Gertrude Ramey; three brothers and one sister.
No funeral service was held. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Funeral Director Services of Symsonia was in charge of arrangements.
Downing
Henry Downing, 54, of Kuttawa passed away at 6:35 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
He was a retired laborer for Local 1214 in Paducah and was a member of Frances Baptist Church in Crittenden County.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Rebecca June Peek Downing of Kuttawa; two sons, Darrell Wayne (Carolyn) Downing of Eddyville and Timothy Ryan (Candice) Downing of Kuttawa; a brother, Johnnie Downing of Kuttawa; four sisters, Maybelle Yates and Joann Woodall, both of Kuttawa, and Betty Shaffer and Hazel Millsaps, both of Robbinsville, N.C.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Downing was preceded in death by his parents, John Homer Downing and Maudeline Trimm Downing and two sisters, Dorothy Oliver and Christine Fulks.
Services were June 13 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Kenneth Odom and Rev. Lonnie Knight officiating. Burial was at Macedonia Cemetery in Lyon County.
Joiner
James Claude “J.C.” Joiner, 66, of Smithland passed away at 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Grand Rivers.
Born in Smithland, Joiner was past master of the Paducah Lodge 127, member of the Smithland Lodge 138, member of the committee on education for the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, an Honorary 33rd Degree Mason and a member of the West Kentucky Scottish Rite Foundation. He was also a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Church of Christ and retired Livingston County school teacher who had taught for 34 years.
Survivors include his wife Judy Joiner of Smithland; one daughter, two brothers; three sisters; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mamie Irene Paris and Ann Joyce Joiner; and a brother, W.A. Joiner.
Funeral services were held June 8 at Smith’s Funeral Home in Smithland. Burial was at Cothran Cemetery. Masonic rites and military honors were held at the cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital or St. Jude Hospital.
Buxton
Laura Marie Buxton, 88, of Salem passed away at 12:40 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Bob (Barbara) Jones of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Juanda Lewis and Mary Helen Ross, both of Salem; grandchildren, Leta Sue Witcher and Mitchell Jones, both of Pensacola; great-grandchildren, Nicole Witcher of Virginia Beach, Va., and Eric Jones of Pensacola.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Eugene Jones; six brothers; and her parents, Louis and Johnnie Houser Hansen.
Graveside services were June 11 with Bro. Buddy Hix officiating. Burial was at Frances Cemetery.
Starrick
Carles A. Starrick, 73, of Marion passed away at 12:25 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Livingston Hospital in Salem.
Starrick was born Dec. 8, 1933 in Paragould, Ark. He was a Baptist and a retired timber buyer.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lawnsdale Starrick of Marion; four daughters, Cathy (Stan) Conyer, Diana (Billy) Watson, Shirley (Carl) Sosh and Debbie Myers (Mark), all of Marion; a son, Danny (Donna) Starrick of Marion; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Andy and Della Mae Fears Starrick.
Services were at Myers Funeral Home June 10 with Rev. Danny Starrick and Rev. Jerry Thurman officiating. Burial was at Repton Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 304, Salem, KY 42078.
Knoth
Edith E. Knoth, 71, of Hampton passed away at 8:18 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Knoth was a member of the North Livingston Baptist Church where she served as Junior Sunday School teacher for many years.
She is survived by her husband, William K. Knoth of Hampton; and two sons, Billy Joe (Marilyn) Knoth of Ledbetter and Steve (Debbie) Knoth of Hampton.
She was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Edna Brummitte and one granddaughter.
Services were June 12 at Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem with Rev. Ken Cummins officiating. Burial was at Hampton Cemetery.
