PADUCAH, Ky. – Marshall Wayne Twitty, 49, passed away April 21, 2007 at his home. He was a 1976 graduate of Tighlman High School and was formerly employed as a welder with Paducah Marine Ways.
Surviving are three daughters, Cathy Harris and Caren Twitty, both of Paducah, and Christy Twitty of Louisville; his mother, Linda Twitty of Paducah; two sisters, Laura Penn of Marion and Melinda Bullmer of Paducah; three grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
A memorial service was held at Trinity Baptist Church in Paducah with Dr. Kenneth Brown officiating. Lindsey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ladd
Services for Ruby Jewell Ladd, 76, of Marion, were April 26, 2007 at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville. Bro. Brian Richardson officiated. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs.
Ladd passed away April 23 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Surviving are four daughters, Judy Hunt of Marion, Claudia Norris, Myrtle Lee Adams and Ruby Griffin, all of Dawson Springs; two sisters, Evelyn Ladd of Burna and Bessie White of Hartford; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Niles Ladd; her parents, Oscar and Nora Johnson Hicks; a son, James Niles Ladd; a great-grandchild; and several brothers and sisters.
Phelps
PRINCETON, Ky. – Henrietta “Jo” Phelps, 94, passed away April 24, 2007 at Princeton Health and Rehab. She was a retired clerk from Akridge Farm Supply. She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church in Fredonia.
Surviving are a son, Philip Phelps of Princeton; a daughter, Wanda Beck of Fredonia; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Prowell of Marion; and a special friend, Margaret Yates; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Orval Prowell, Orlen Prowell and Clifford Prowell; two sisters, Arsie Gerlitzski and Arnie Hillyard.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m., April 27 at Morgans Funeral Home with Dr. Jerrell White and Rev. Dean Ray officiating. Burial will be in Rowland Cemetery.

Watson
SALEM, Ky. – Funeral services for Truman Watson, 82, were April 21, 2007 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Fouts officiating. Burial was in Lola Cemetery.
Watson passed away April 18 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Watson; two sons, Ronnie Watson of Salem and David Watson of Boaz; a sister, Helen Watson of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, Paul Watson of Newburg, Ind., and Carter Watson of Marion; and three grandchildren.
Cherry
PRINCETON, Ky. – Services for Everett Cherry, 97, were April 18 at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Jones officiating. Burial as in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Cherry passed away April 15 at Princeton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was retired athletic director at Kentucky State Penitentiary and a member of First Christian Church.
Surviving are a son, Mike Cherry of Princeton; a daughter, Dinah Cherry Marshall of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Louise Cherry Purdy of Princeton; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Winnie Davis Cherry. His parents were Charles Cherry and Lena Perry Cherry.
Duncan
Vada E. Duncan, 78, of Marion, passed away April 11, 2007 at Crittenden Health and Rehab. She was of the Baptist faith and Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son, Garey Steven Duncan of Marion; daughter, Rita Gail Thweatt of Symsonia; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Duncan; two brothers; two sisters; and her parents, Guy and Eloise Lauderdale McDowell, Sr.
Services were April 14 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Mapleview Cemetery.
Starrett
Amalia “Amy” Maria Starrett, 37, of Marion, passed away April 11, 2007 at Lourdes Hospital.
She is survived by her companion, Jeff Joyce; her mother, Lina Jane Jones of Apache Junction, Ariz.; a sister, Deborah Merrick of Princeton; a son, Tyler Starrett of Marion; a daughter, Kristen Dreihaupt of Marion; a niece; and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert John Dreihaupt; and a brother, Gleneal Dreihaupt.
Services were April 14 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Princeton.
Vance
Sherman Dale Vance, 47, of Marion, passed away April 13, 2007 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Josianne Vance; a son, Josh Vance of Marion; three stepsons, Joshua Walser of Fort Irwin, Calif., Kyle Goff of Marion and Skyler Greenwell of Morganfield; his mother, Patsy Ashby Vance of Sturgis; a brother, Mike Vance of Marion; a sister, Vonnie Hemling of Sturgis; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Vance,
Myers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Newcom
CLAY, Ky. – Mary Elizabeth Newcom, 79, passed away April 8, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a m ember of Grace Baptist Church in Clay for more than 30 years.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, C.D. Newcom; a daughter, Brenda Kay Harris of Clay; five sons, John Newcom of Marion, Calvin Newcom of Clay, Tommy Newcom of Clay, David Newcom of Blackford and Bobby Newcom of Marion; two sisters, Sue James of Sturgis and Carolyn Ashby of Clay; a brother, Darrell Gibson of Marion; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandechildren.
Services were April 11 at Grace Baptist Church with burial in Whie Oak Cemetery near Clay. Bro. Larry Williams officiated.

Mayes
Paul E. Mayes, Sr., 73, of Marion, passed away April 5, 2007 at Crittenden Health and Rehab. He was a Baptist minister and former coal miner and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Mayes of Marion; a daughter, Paula Phelps of Salem; two sons, Paul E. Mayes, Jr., of Alabama and Ronnie Mayes of Madisonville; 12 grandchilden; and 17 great-grandchildren..
He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Glenn Mayes; and a daughter, Christine Yvonne Mayes.
Services were April 10 at Gilberet Funeral Home with burial in Rosebud Cemetery.
Padget
Marguerite M. Padget, 83, of Marion, passed away April 3, 2007 at Crittenden Health and Rehab. She attended Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Betty McGill, Carol Noonan and Cathy Barber, all of Springfield, Ill., and Janet Dunaway of Granite City, Ill.; a son, Ron Padget of Marion; a sister, Maxine Neuber of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date in Springfield, Ill., with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-9 p.m., April 5 at Myers Funeral Home.
