BURNA, Ky. – Beatrice Jennings, 74, passed away Jan. 29, 2007 at Salem Springlake Health & Rehab. She was a member of Hampton Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Claude Jennings; a daughter, Angela Kolb of Carnation, Wash.; a sister, Mary June Jennings of Burna; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother. Her parents were Henry and Alberta Clark Dickerson.
Services were Jan. 31 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Wring officiating. Burial was in Hampton Cemetery.
Rogers
Robert Rogers, 70, of Marion, passed away Jan. 20, 2007 at Western Baptist Hospital. Services were Jan. 22 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Sister Lucy Tedrick officiating. Burial was in Piney Fork Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Jane Rogers; two sons, Steve Rogers and Donald Rogers, both of Marion; a daughter, Ann Stewart of Marion; two sisters, Betty Davenport of Missouri and Isabelle Cole of Kansas; a half sister, Debbie Shewcraft of Florida; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Freels
Rita Freels, 49, of Marion, passed away Jan. 27, 2007 at her home.
She is survived by a daughter, Crystal Curnel of Murray; five brothers, Roger Belt and Eddie Dean Belt, both of Marion, Leon Belt of Salem, Kenneth Belt of Panama City, Fla., and Daryl Belt of Fredonia; five sisters, Glenda Tyson, Terry Jo Moore, Libby Atkins, all of Marion, Donna Belt of New York, N.Y. and Denise Williams of Eddyville; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Guy Belt and Billie Jo McElmurray Belt.
Services were Jan. 31 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Jones officiating. Burial was on the family farm.
Sherer
TOLU, Ky. – Kenneth Marvin Sherer, 68, passed away Jan. 30, 2007 at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Feb. 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Porter will officiate. Burial will be in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Surviving are his mother, Katie Sherer of Tolu; two brothers, Guthrie Sherer and roger Sherer, both of Tolu; four sisters, Jean Underhill, Mary Phillips and Donna Tinsley, all of tolu, and Alma Tinsley of Fredericktown, Mo..
He was preceded in death by his father, Millie C. Sherer; a brother, Larry Sherer; and a nephew, Willie Underhill.
Hunt
Funeral services for Sadie Lee Hunt, 87, will be held at 2 p.m., Feb. 2, 2007 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.
Hunt passed away Jan. 31 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehab. She is a member of Marion General Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Doris Nesbitt of Marion and Shirley Griffin of Dixon; a brother, Leslie Butler of Marion; three sisters, Deloris Doom of Atlanta, Martha White of Providence and Clement King of Nashville; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tyler Hunt; three brothers; and a sister. Her parents were Ed and Cora Butler.
Belt
Graveside services were held Jan. 25, 2007 for Mary W. Belt, 70, at Hurricane Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Porter officiating.
Belt passed away Jan. 24 at Western Baptist Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Edwin Taylor Belt, Sr.; two sons, Harold Belt and Edwin “Hottie” Belt, both of Marion; six sisters, Helen Miller of Tolu, Nancy O’Toole of Louisville, Donna Newcom of New Albany, Ind., Sandy Quertermous of Hampton, Joann Traylor of Princeton and Judy Moore of Murray; a granddaughter, Hattie W. Belt and a grandson, James Taylor “P.J.” Belt, both of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Edward and Anna Louise Bennett Moore; three sisters; and a twin brother.

Hackney
Dale Hackney, 53, of Marion, passed away Jan. 29, 2007 in a traffic accident on U.S. 60 west of Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hackney; a daughter, Shannon Hackney of Marion; a son, Shane Hackney of Marion; five sisters, Martha Stinnett of Dycusburg, Patsy Lubbenhusen of Ferdinand, Ind., Judy Thurman, Wanda Hamby and Monda Watson, all of Marion; three brothers, Danny Hackney, David Hackney and Steve Hackney, all of Marion; and two granddaughters, Bristen Holeman and Halle Hackney, both of Marion.
He was preceded in death a brother, Ricky Hackney; and his parents, Robert and Laverne Hackney.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Feb. 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Curtis Franklin will officiate with burial in Union Cemetery.
Kirk
Hayden Kirk, 74, of Marion passed away Jan. 15, 2007 at his home. He was a retired mechanic and longtime employee of the Crittenden County School District.
Services were Jan. 18 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Mac Dossett and Rev. Nicky Davis officiating. Burial was in Dunn Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Louise Belt Kirk; seven daughters, Juanita Saunders of Gilbertsville, Leshia Lady of Kuttawa, Diana Jo Kirk of Evansville, Renee Cox of Hawkpoint, Mo., Sheila Kolich of Evansville, Susie Murray of Cadiz and Heather Kirk of Marion; a son, Robert Hayden Kirk of Fredonia; two sisters, Vilas Todd of Sheridan and Carol Elledge of Kuttawa; six brothers, Harry Kirk of Princeton, James D. Kirk of Downs, Ill., Ollie Kirk of Chandler, Ind., Edward Kirk of Dekalb, Ill., Elbert Kirk of Marion and Glenn Kirk of Cunningham, Tenn.; 28 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Harold Wayne Kirk; two granddaughters; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter. His parents were Joseph and Novella Kirk.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ill. – John Edward “Johny” Reed, 62, passed away Jan. 18, 2007 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Reed; two sons, Jeremy Edwin Reed of Cave In Rock and Eric Quinn Reed of Paducah; two daughters, Nanette Amanda Ohse of Golconda and Heather Dianne Jenkins of Elizabethtown; his mother, Martha Reed of Elizabethtown; a brother, Lonnie Reed of Peoria, Ill.; two half brothers, Eddie Jo Reed of Elizabethtown and Roy Reed of Indiana; a sister, Dianne Vaughn of Elizabethtown; a half sister, Donna Fielding of Texas; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Seba Edwin Reed; and a brother, Randall Reed.
Services were Jan. 21 at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare, Ill. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery.
Barnes
BURNA, Ky. – Mamie L. Barnes, 78, passed away Jan. 16, 2007 at Livingston Hospital. She was of Baptist faith and a member of Eastern Star No. 417 in Smithland.
Survivors include her husband, George Barnes; three daughters, Betty Lois (Bobby) Brown and Donna Sue Tabor, both of Marion, and Brenda Tabor of Smithland; a son, Tom Tabor of Burna; a stepdaughter, Teresa (Tony) Sanders of Kevil; two stepsons, Larry (Angie) Barnes of Salem and Martin Barnes of Carrsville; four brothers, James Curnel, Lonnie Curnel, Doug Curnel and Donnie Curnel, all of Marion; two sisters, Mary Sue Curnel and Pearlie Curnel, both of Marion; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Coy Clifton Tabor; a son, J.C. Tabor; a grandson, Jeff Hopper; three brothers; and a sister. Her parents were Harman and Esther Privitt Curnel.
Services were Jan. 19 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Bennie Chandler officiating. Burial was in New Union (Ditney) Cemetery.
Clark
Services for Raymond Clark, 91, of Marion, were Jan. 24, 2007 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Heath Martin officiated. Burial was in Crowell Cemetery.
Clark passed away Jan. 20 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Wheatcroft Masonic Lodge No. 881.
Surviving are his wife, Teresa Clark; a son, Bobby Clark of Marion; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
