Kitchens
Rudell “Rudy” Wayne Kitchens, 75, of Salem died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at his home.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Kitchens, of Salem; daughters, Amy Kitchens O’Bryan (Randy) of Grand Rivers and Denise Kitchens Kaszuba (Kevin) of Burna; sons, Jeff Kitchens (Kelsey Brandes) of Louisville, Aaron Workman (Lora) of Salem and Matt Kitchens (Jenna Heckel) of Louisville; sister, Belinda Wolfington Toohey (Michael) of California; brothers, Larry Wolfington of Ledbetter and Doug Wolfington (Michelle) of Paducah; grandchildren, Heather, Shelby, Cory, Kegan, Briana, Alyssa, Ashley, Shalynn,
Dalton, Gabby and Jayden; and great-grandchildren, Tanner and Tatelynn.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Louise Binkley Wolfington Cooper.
Services will be at 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at Faith Church in Salem with Rev. Kevin Pleasant and Rev. Israel Sanders officiating.

Dickerson
Linda Sue Dickerson, 75, of Hampton died Dec. 11, 2017 at Oakview Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City.
She had worked as a nurse’s aid and was a member of Hampton Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Tina (Joe) Kemp of Hampton; grandson, Cole Grimes of
Paducah; two great-grandsons, Casey Grimes and Aiden Grimes of Paducah; and two
sisters, Evelyn Edmonds and Armalee Kimberlin, both of Hampton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Isabel Dickerson.
Services were Thursday, Dec. 14 at Myers Funeral Home in Marion.
Wood
John O. Wood, 78, of Marion died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at Baptist Health
Madisonville.
He was a member of the Marion congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Wood of Marion; children, Tracy Wood of Madisonville,
Dale Wood of Louisville and Denise Szymanski of Tucson, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elva Wood; a daughter, Cynthia
Wood; a sister; and two brothers.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Hinchee
Carolyn G. Hinchee, 77, of Marion died Wednesday at her home in Marion.
She was a member of Repton Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Charles R. Hinchee, Jennetta Lynn Travis and Damita
Joy Papineau, all of Marion; sisters, Helen McConnell and Sue McDowell, both of
Marion; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hinchee; parents, Frank Allen and
Margie Juanita Gillespie; and a granddaughter, April Dawn Travis Newman.
Services were Saturday, Dec. 16 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion. Burial was at Mt.
Zion Cemetery.

James
Mary C. “Dolly” James, 84, of Marion died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 at Crittenden County
Health and Rehab. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gleneth Reed James of Marion; children, Shirley (Gary)
Buchanan of Marion, Rickey (Kathy) James of Terre Haute, Ind., Angie (Dennis) Dooms
of Marion, Lisa (Mark) French of Marion and Patty Brown of Marion; 10 grandchildren;
and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mary Walker; four brothers; and
six sisters.
Services were Wednesday, Dec. 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion. Burial was at
Piney Fork Cemetery.
Jent
Ben W. Jent, 75, of Princeton died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at Ray and Kay Eckstein
Hospice Center at Paducah.
He was a retired entrepreneur, built Venture River Water Park in 1994 and founded
Christ Tabernacle Church in Princeton in May 2002.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Blackwell Jent; daughter, Andrea York and
husband Mike of Eddyville; a son, Troy Jent and wife Becky of Hopkinsville; five
grandchildren, Courtney Barrett and husband Brantley, Megan Blackburn and husband
Kell, Ashley Jent, Victoria McNeely and husband Quinten and David Jent; and one
great-grandchild, Jax Barrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Jent and Roxie Bohannan Jent; four
brothers, Burlin Jent, Jim Jent, Bob Jent and Darrell Jent; and one sister, Betty Jent.
Services were Saturday, Dec. 16 at Christ Tabernacle in Princeton with Pastor Troy Jent
and Rev. Rick Clendenen officiating.

Myers
Tony Ray Myers, 56, of Marion died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Felecia Myers of Marion; brothers, Ronnie (Gayle) Myers and
Eddie Jack (Paulette) Myers, both of Marion; sister, Carolyn Rose of Marion; and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Verna Myers; and brother, Jerry
“Tubbo” Myers.
Services were Sunday, Dec. 17 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion. Burial was at
Freedom Cemetery.
Riley
William Edward Riley, 54, of Marion died Friday, Dec. 15, 2017 at Baptist Health
Paducah.
Survivors include his daughters, Hannah Riley of Paducah, Haley Riley of Princeton and
Kara Riley of Paris, Tenn.; grandson, Austin Riley of Paris, Tenn.; sisters, Tennie Murray
and Mary Ralston, both of Marion, Anita Scheeringa and Betty Miller, both of Hebron,
Ind., Wanda Kinnis of Dycusburg, Faye Waters of Eddyville and Donna Ball of Portage,
Ind. ; and brothers, Clinton Riley of Salem, Tommy Riley of Frances, Charles Riley of
Marion and Paul Riley of Crown Point, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Randle and Ruby Lee Riley Sr.;
sister, Carolyn Peek and brother, William Randle Riley Jr.
Private graveside services will be held at Dycusburg Cemetery.
Curtis
Dillard Curtis, 88, of Marion Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 at his home.
He was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Curtis of Marion; children, Jimmy (Cecilia) Curtis,
Mark Curtis, Larry (Lorie) Curtis, Donald (Joyce) Curtis, Patty (Wayne) Howerton,
Regina (Gene) Oliver and Sue Corley, all of Marion, Angel (Paul) Cantie of New York
and Gail (Mark) Williams of Georgia; 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mattie Curtis; a son, Richard Curtis;
three brothers; and four sisters.
Services are at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion.
Burial will be at Rosebud Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m., until
service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Barnes
Marie Barnes, 93, of Salem went to her eternal home Thursday morning, Dec. 14, 2017
at her residence.
Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Riller Knight of Tiline.
She was also preceded in death by her four sisters and three brothers.
She was the wife of the late Nick Barnes and the loving mother of Cynthia Moore
(Ralph) of Eddyville, Phillip Barnes (Sandy) of Salem, Janet Lee McCloud (Jim) of
Grand Rivers, Pamalyn Hardin (Ty) of Burna, and Lisa Ann Tynes of Gilbertsville. She
was preceded in death by her son, David Barnes of Salem. In addition, she is survived
by 10 grandchildren, Natalie Moore White (Ryan), Adam Barnes (Leslea), Shanna
Moore Leslie (Blake), Josh Perryman, Luke Jones (Alison), Chad Hardin (Taylor), John
Wingham, Grant Jones (Amy), Marie Hardin Scott (Dustin), and Jessica Wingham; and
17 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Barnes enjoyed serving the Lord through her membership of Pinckneyville Baptist
Church. She taught Sunday School for many years and participated in the Women’s
Missionary Union. Later in life, she was employed at Salem Nursing Home for about 13
years. She loved her work and often fondly recalled her time spent there. At home she
was reverent in daily bible study, prayer and a teacher of Christ likeness. Her hobbies
included piano, gardening, cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She was the most loving
and giving mother and grandmother in the world. She will be immensely missed by all.
Services were Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and
Cremation Services with Rev. Roger Rice and Rev. Gerald Cannon officiating. Burial
was at Pinckneyville Cemetery.
