Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Johnson
Clay Johnson, 75, of Salem, passed away Jan. 9, 1999 at his home.

He is survived by a daughter, Henrietta Binkley of Salem; three sons, John C. Johnson of Hobart, Ind., Bill Johnson of Paducah, and Doug Johnson of Frances; four brothers, Walter Johnson of Kuttawa, Grant Johnson of Arkansas, Wayne Johnson of Madisonville, and Henry Johnson of Akron, Ohio; a sister, Violet Blue of Hanson, Ky., 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Dycus Johnson; his parents, Herbert and Lucy Devault Johnson; two brothers; and a sister. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 13 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. Roger Rice officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Lemon
Roy Lemon, 76, of Marion, passed away Jan. 5, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of the Marion United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife Betty of Marion; a son, Robert Lemon of Louisville; a brother, James Lemon of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Rosa Croft of Marion; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His parents were Rosa and James Lemon. He was preceded in death by a sister, Velda Lemon Simpkins.

Funeral services were held Jan. 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Spurrier officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Cox
Edna Drennan Cox, 94, of Providence, passed away Jan. 4, 1999 at Shemwell Nursing Home in Providence.

Cox taught school in Caldwell, Crittenden and Webster counties for 53 years. She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Haroldlene Gobin of Providence; two granddaughters, Johnetta Fritz of Clay and Shanda Belt of Madisonville; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shady Grove Baptist Church or to the Visionary Fund at the General Baptist Church in Providence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Jan. 7 at Melton Funeral Home in Providence with Rev. Barry Cullen and Rev. Jerry Easley officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Eslinger
Charles A. Eslinger, 69, of Marion, passed away Jan. 2, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital. He was retired from NIPSCO.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Eslinger of Marion; five daughters, Marie Binkley of Marion, Sandra Black of Rensselaer, Ind., Joyce Goodman of Pierce, Ill., Opal Burscno and Patricia Bruce, both of Paris, Ill.; a son, Charles Eslinger, Jr., of Monticello, Ind.,; two step sons, David Pirlot of Wheatfield, Ind., and Allen Pirlot of Rensselaer, Ind.; two brothers, George Eslinger of Mt. View, Mo., and Dean Eslinger of Scotland, Ill; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Jan. 8 at Davis Cemetery in Burnettsville, Ind.

Woodall
Paul Archie Woodall, Jr., 60, of Stamping Ground, Ky., passed away Jan. 3, 1999 at his home. Woodall was a native of Crittenden County, and was a retired teacher and coach at Bryan Station High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Reed Woodall; his mother, Geneva Blakey Woodall; a daughter, Elicia June Myall of Gilbert, S.C.; two sons, Paul Aaron Woodall of Salina, Kansas and Paul Douglas Woodall of Stamping Ground; two sisters, Sherrie Stidham of Scott County and Mary Lowell of Georgetown; a brother, James Robert Woodall of Jackson, Wyom.; and seven grandchildren, Jesse Burgess, Kristi and Tommy Myall, Victorya, Sarah, Rebecca and Elicia Marie Woodall.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Archie Woodall, Sr.

Memorial services will be held Jan. 7 at Johnson's Funeral Home in Georgetown. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Kentucky Elk Restoration Project, 198 Shawnee Trail, Cadiz, Ky. 42111 or to the Watershed Watch, Kentucky River Basin, P.O. Box 88, Versailles, Ky. 40383.

Tyner
Services for Billie Sue Tyner, 64, of Salem were held May 22 at Salem Baptist Church with Dr. James Dwiggins officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.

Tyner passed away May 20, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital.

She is survived by two sons, Stan Wheeler of Sheridan and Steve Wheeler of Ledbetter; her mother, Marie Stroud of Salem; and two grandchildren.

Cannon
Lela Mae Cannon, 93, of Marion, passed away May 22, 1999 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

She was a member of Piney Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Cannon is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Cannon; and her parents, William Alonzo and Nanny Agee.

Services were held May 24 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Cortis Hill officiating. Burial was in Crayne Cemetery.

Miller
Services for James Earl Miller, 62, of Marion, Ill., formerly of Salem were held May 23 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Holloman officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Miller passed away May 20, 1999 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Miller, of Marion, Ill.; two daughters, Rhonda Simmons of Marion, Ill.; Victoris Mieldezis of Duluth, Ga.; a son, Greg Miller of Marion, Ill.; two sisters, Ocie Smith of Salem and Etheline Cope of Mayfield; a brother, Alex Miller of Marion, Ky.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Bertha Miller.

Berry
Flora Lanham Ford Berry, 90, of Dawson Springs passed away May 22, 1999 at NHC Health Care Center in Madisonville.

She was a member of Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church.

Berry is survived by three sons, Col. William Ford of Lebanon, Ill., Norman Ford of Hanson and Bobby Joe Ford, Madisonville; a brother, George Lanham of Marion; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Ford and James Berry; her parents; four brothers; a sister; and a child.

Starnes
Johnie Starnes, 86, of Marion, passed away May 23, 1999 at Livingston Hospital.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the 101st Airborne Division.

Starnes is survived by a son, John Starnes of Marion; two sisters, Annie Revels of Ft. Pierce, Fla. and Mary Calley of St. Mary, Fla.; a brother, Ed Starnes of Ft. Pierce; a grandson; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Starnes.

Services were held May 26 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery.
