Opal Jane Corley, 86, of Marion, passed away Nov. 18, 2000 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
Surviving are a sister, Lillian Corley of Marion; two grandsons, Kent Crider of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Stephen Crider of Marion; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Corley, and a daughter, Beauton Crider.
Funeral services were held Nov. 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Caldwell County. Rev. Frank McCallum officiated.
Herring
Newman Herring, 84, of Eddyville, passed away Nov. 14, 2000 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Herring of Eddyville and David Herring of Madisonville; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, O.B. Herring, Jr., of Kuttawa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhea Sadler Herring; a brother, William N. "Bill" Herring; and his parents, O.B. and Mary Katherine Waters Herring.
Funeral services were held Nov. 17 at Lakeland Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Yates and Rev. Richard Tapscott officiating. Burial was in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.

Adams
Funeral services for John L. Adams, 63, of Fredonia, were held Nov. 20, 2000 at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Adams passed away Nov. 17 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Survivors include a brother, Bill Adams of Edelstein, Ill.
Lowery
Guy Allen Lowery, 89, of Marion, passed away Nov. 16, 2000 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Marion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Lowery of Marion; a son, Paul Lowery of Marion; a daughter, Mary Ann Cox of Harrisburg, Ill.; two brothers, Ollie Lowery of Tolu and James H. Lowery of Bellview, Neb.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Nov. 18 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Leslie Chapman officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Belt
Linvel O. Belt, 78, of Chicago, passed away Nov. 14, 2000 at Christ Hospital in Chicago. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Belt; two daughters, Beverly Phillips and Judy Schiesser; a son, David Belt; several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 19 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. David Davis officiating. Burial was in Lola Cemetery.
Doom
Lawrence Doom, 75, of Salem, passed away Nov. 14, 2000 at his home. He was retired from McLean Trucking Co.; a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church; a World War II veteran, serving with the 42nd Rainbow Division in Europe. He earned a bronze star, and was a member of Findlarer Masonic Lodge #475 of Dearborn, Mich.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ann Pace Doom; a son, Larry Pace Doom of Salem; and four sisters, Martha Maxfield of Cadiz, Hazel Guess of Marion, Shirley Smith of St. Peters, Mo., and Marge Sumner of Cadiz.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Doom and Iva Doom.
Funeral services were held Nov. 16 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Maxie Hanson officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Sisley
Graveside services for Margaret Duffy Sisley, 94, of Marion, were held Nov. 10.
Sisley passed away Nov. 6, 2000 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
Surviving are one son, Harry Leslie of Marion; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Treva Leslie King.
Walker
Annis Lee Walker, 82, of Clay, passed away Nov. 8, 2000 at her home. She was a member of Rocksprings Baptist Church in Wheatcroft.
Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at Grace Baptist Church in Clay with Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Crittenden County.
Surviving are four daughters, Nancy Leggitt of DeMotte, Ind., Tommie Jean Warren of Providence, Faye Vaughn of Clay and Sandra McClemore of Prattville, Ala.; five sons, Charles Johnson of Evansville, Jack Johnson of Owensboro, Les Johnson of Clay, Bennie Johnson of Marion and Lynn Walker, Jr., of Dixon; a sister, Hallie Frances Hill of Paglan, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jackson Johnson, Jr.; her second husband, Lynn Walker, Sr.; and a son, Jimmie Ray.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice of Webster County.
Belt
Linvel O. Belt, 78, of Chicago, formerly of Crittenden County, passed away Nov. 14, 2000 at Christ Hospital in Oaklawn, Ill. He was a veteran of World War II and the boilermakers' union for 35 years. He was employed by Standard Boiler & Tank.
Funeral services are pending at Boyd Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy S. Belt of Chicago two daughters, Beverly Phillips of Lockport, Ill., and Judy Schiesser of Colorado; a son, David Belt of Palos Hills, Ill.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
His parents were Claude and Eva Belt of Crittenden County. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland Belt and J.C. Belt.
Curnel
George Thomas Curnel, 74, of Marion, passed away Nov. 3, 2000 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Glendale Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Lou Maynard Curnel of Marion; a daughter, Christene C. Hodge of Marion; a son, George Larry Curnel of Marion; six sisters, Muriel Belt of Salem, Sarah Curnel of Marion, Arla Givens of Carrsville, Mina McDaniel of Marion, Pearl Wagoner of Paducah and Gracie Belt of Rose Bud, Ark.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Boyd Funeral Home Nov. 6 with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating.
