Funeral services for Forest L. Babbs, 88, of Sturgis, were held Nov. 4 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis. Rev. Robert Phillips officiated. Burial was in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Clay.
Babbs passed away Nov. 2, 2000 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson.
Babbs was a retired farmer and veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Gray of Smith Mills; four stepsons, Harlan Belt of Marion, Wilborn Belt of Sturgis, Jerry Belt of Riverton, Ill., and Ricky Belt of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Dorothy Moses of Baton Rouge, La., Ethel Babbs of Sturgis and Jewell Miller of Sturgis; three brothers, Henry Babbs of Pacific, Mo., John Babbs of Gary, Ind., and Curtis Babbs of Henderson; 11 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren.
King
Betty Mae King, 56, of Marion, passed away Nov. 4, 2000 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
Survivors include her ex-husband, Bruce Howard of Marion; three daughters, Vanessa Howard, Trudy Howard and Tammy Howard, all of Marion; a son, Tony Howard of Chicago; a brother, Earl McCarty of Tennessee; a sister, Melba McCarty of Chicago; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 6 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery.
Cooper
Funeral services for Macie Corn Cooper, 91, of Salem, were held Nov. 6 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Maxie Hanson officiated. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Cooper passed away Nov. 3, 2000 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Kirk; four grandchildren, Dale Kirk of Kevil, Larry Kirk of Tiline, Mitzi Stoner of Springfield, Ill., and Melissa Tabor of Marion; three nieces, Linda Vala and Wanda Corn of Springfield, Ill., and Gale Easterly of Litchfield, Ill.; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Cooper; a daughter, Bonnie Sue Jones; two brothers; and a great-granddaughter.
Davenport
Lonnie Marie Davenport, 93, of Grand Rivers, passed away Nov. 3, 2000 at Superior Care Nursing Home in Paducah. Funeral services were held Nov. 6 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Hunt officiating. Burial was in Lola Cemetery.
Survivors include a foster son, Arthur Collins of Paducah; two grandsons, Tony Davenport and Eddie Davenport, both of Paducah; two sisters, Lois Bebout and Tommie Grimes, both of Salem; nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Davenport was preceded in death by her husband, O.H. Davenport; a son, Encil Davenport; two sisters; a brother and her parents, Arthur and Minnie Singleton.
Gadomski
Patricia Ann Gilmore Gadomski, 53, of Marion, passed away Nov. 6, 2000 at Livingston Hospital. She was a member of Marion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Roman Gadomski of Philadelphia, Pa.; a daughter, Patricia Rempp, also of Philadelphia; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Nov. 8 at Marion United Methodist Church led by Rev. Wayne Garvey.
Stalion
Norbit "Rat" Stalion, 79, of Marion, passed away Oct. 17, 2000 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Glendale General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Mae Stalion of Marion; a brother, Dick Stalion of Leesburg, Fla.; two sisters, Glenda Chaffin of Evansville and Dorothy Finnegan of Connecticut.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers. His parents were Will and Betty Stalion.
Funeral services were held Oct. 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. David Davis and Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating. Burial was in Love Cemetery.
Vallandingham
Funeral services for Robert Vallandingham, 63, of Smithland, were held Oct. 31 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Reeves and Rev. Bennie Chandler officiated. Burial was in McMurray Chapel Cemetery.
Vallandingham passed away Oct. 28, 2000 at Livingston Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Elva Vallandingham of Smithland; three sons, Ron Vallandingham and Don Vallandingham of New Albany, Ind., and Derek Vallandingham of Smithland; two sisters, Betty Fields and Beverly Osbon, both of of New Albany, Ind.; his mother, Leanah Vallandingham of New Albany, Ind.; and three grandchildren.
Russell
Arleigh Russell, 95, of Marion, passed away Oct. 27, 2000 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. He was a member of Palestine Lodge No. 357 in Detroit and an honorary member of Bigham Lodge No. 256 in Marion and a 32nd degree Mason.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Russell of Marion; three sons, Bill Fox, Doug Fox and Jimmy Fox, all of Marion; two daughters, Lois Hicks of Marion; Elizabeth Campbell of Kissimee, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Clarke and Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Ahlborn
Arthur A. Ahlborn, 74, of Lake Orion, Mich., passed away Oct. 11, 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Gene Ahlborn; three sons, Michael Ahlborn of Auburn Hills, Mich., David Ahlborn of Lake Orion, Mich., Larry Ahlborn of Oxford, Mich., and Ted Ahlborn, also of Oxford; and five grandchildren.
Ahlborn was raised in Salem, and retired from Sunburg-Farar Company in Michigan. He was a member of Lake Orion Masonic Lodge #46, Shriner's, N.R.A., and American Legion Post 162, Luzerne, Mich. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II.
Funeral services were held Oct. 14 at Lake Orion Chapel, Sparks Griffin Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Orion Veterans Memorial Fund, or the Shriner's Burnt and Crippled Children's Fund.
Whitham
Gladys Irene Whitham, 95, of Salem, Ill., passed away Oct. 15, 2000 at the Public Hospital of the Town of Salem.
She was born in Crittenden County, the daughter of James Bristow and Flossie Farmer Hughes.
Whitham was a homemaker and member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Salem, Ill., and she was a member of the Eastern Star and Senior Citizens.
Funeral services were held Oct. 18 at Rankin Funeral Home in Salem, Ill. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Crittenden County.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty W. Gordon of Salem, Ill.; two sisters, Virginia A. Easley of Salem, Ky., and Mary J. Alvis of the Fords Ferry community; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Bradley Whitham; her parents; and a brother, Noble Hughes.
