Evert "Bobo" Barnett, 95, of Eddyville, passed away Sept. 30, 2000 at Caldwell County Hospital.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Randy Barnett of Eddyville, Andy Barnett of Kuttawa and Rhonda Riley of Mayfield; a brother, George Barnett of Eddyville; and seven great-grandchildren.
Barnett was a retired carpenter and farmer and member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Eddyville. He also was a 58-year member of Joppa Masonic Lodge #167 in Eddyville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Timmons Barnett; two sons, James E. Barnett and George Lynn Barnett; a granddaughter, Debra Barnett; a great-granddaughter, Wendy Barnett; and by eight brothers and four sisters. His parents were Minus Louis Barnett and Della Ann Fulks Barnett.
Grimes
Dorothy Nell McCune Grimes, 86, of Ponte Verda Beach, Fla., formerly of Salem, passed away Sept. 29, 2000.
Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Jean Gonzalez of Marietta, Ga., Carolyn Gallagher of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Jewell Johnson of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; a sister, Lois Stallions Ridings of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and three nieces, Jackie Myrick, Jane Slayden and Doris Ann Henry, all of Salem.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eugene Grimes.
Hicks
William Dalton Hicks, 72, of Marion, passed away Sept. 24, 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Jean Baldwin of Evansville; four sisters, Vivian Hicks, Francis Turley and Ruth Hunter, all of Marion, and Jane Pollock of Evansville; a brother, Pete Hicks of Hot Springs, Ark.
His parents were Allie and Naomi Kirk Hicks.
Funeral services were held Sept. 28 at Boyd Funeral Home with A.C. Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.
Phillips
Phyllis Ann Phillips, 56, of Marion, passed away Sept. 24, 2000 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Frances Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her mother, Ruby Tosh of Marion; her husband, Robert A. Phillips of Marion; a daughter, Michelle Leigh of Carrsville; a sister, Sue Tosh of Kuttawa; and two brothers, W.L. Simpkins and Billy Simpkins, both of Evansville.
Funeral services were held Sept. 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Frances Cemetery.
Hicks
William Dalton Hicks, 72, of Marion, passed away Sept. 24, 2000.

Edmonds
Everett Albert Edmonds, 94, formerly of Livingston County passed away Sept. 26, 2000 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a retired Livingston County farmer and a Kentucky Highway Department worker. He was the oldest member of Dyer Hill Baptist Church where he served as deacon.
Surviving are a son, Jim Edmonds of Ledbetter; four daughters, Sue Boone of Evansville, Betty Babb of Kevil, Nancy Cooper of Ledbetter and Carolyn Jones of Springfield, Tenn.; two nieces; two nephews; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah C. Hendrick Edmonds; a brother; five sisters; four nieces; and a nephew. His parents were Albert Sidney and Anna Charlotte "Lottie" Litton Edmonds.
Funeral services will be held Sept. 28 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Beals and Rev. Walter Peck officiating. Burial will be in Edmonds Cemetery.
Horton
Funeral services for Frances Elmira Horton, 79, of Eddyville, were held Sept. 24 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. A.C. Hodge and Rev. Kenneth Watson officiated. Burial was in Lola Cemetery.
Horton passed away Sept. 22, 2000 at Caldwell County Hospital.
Survivors include four daughters, Helen Mitchell of Burna, Bonnie Watson of Girard, Ill., Floyd Ann Sunderland of Salem and Peggy Sue Crawford of Salem; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd Wright and Everett Horton; a grandson; a brother; and her parents, Robert and Lona McKendree Smith.
Phillips

Curnel
Funeral services for Ollie Curnel, 63, of Marion, were held Sept. 24, 2000 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Curnel passed away Sept. 21 at Lourdes Hospital.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeanne Farmer of Marion; three sisters, Mamie Barnes of Hampton, Pearlie Curnel and Mary Sue Curnel, both of Marion; four brothers, Lonnie Curnel of Salem, James Curnel, Doug Curnel and Donnie Curnel, all of Marion; two grandchildren, Savannah Farmer and Mark Farmer, both of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Curnel; two brothers, Jesse Curnel and Carl Ray Curnel; and an infant sister, Bertha Curnel.
Lipscomb
Former Marion Mayor Samuel A. Lipscomb Sr., 77, of Maceo, passed away Sept. 21, 2000 at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems.
He was a retired western Kentucky sales representative for Commerce Clearing House.
He attended Century Christian Church and was mayor of Marion in the 1961-1969. He was a member of Grand Lodge of Kentucky F&AM; Bigham Lodge #256; Rizpah Temple AAONMS of Madisonville; and was a Shriner Clown. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Bland Lipscomb; a son, Samuel Allen "Jay" Lipscomb Jr, of Park Ridge, Ill.; a daughter, Kathy Ranburger of Owensboro; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sept. 23 at James H. Davis Funeral Home with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Garden.
