Funeral services for Malcolm Boone, 80, of Fredonia, passed away June 29, 2000 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Mary Belle Beavers Boone of Fredonia; two sons, James Malcolm "Mac" Boone of Fredonia and Don Boone, also of Fredonia; two daughters, Saundra Miller of Kuttawa and Janice Patterson of Nashville; a brother, J.E. Boone of Princeton; a sister, Dorothy Wheeler of Fredonia; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Bradsaw. His parents were James Edward and Myrtie Jones Boone.
Funeral services were held July 1 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with Dr. Jerrel White and Rev. Jeff Boone officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
Short
Marie B. Short, 87, of Evansville, passed away June 28, 2000 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. She was a retired linen room supervisor at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Survivors include a son, Ronnel Tabor of Evansville; a daughter, Paulette Parson of Evansville; three sisters, Imogene Brown, Louise Duncan and Opal Lee Martin, all of Hobart, Ind.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Tabor, and her second husband, Alvin Short.
Funeral services were held July 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. David Schultz officiating. Burial was in Asbridge Cemetery.
Riley
Funeral services for Leigh Ann Riley, 22, of Salem, were held June 30 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem. Rev. John East and Rev. James Dwiggins officiated. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Riley passed away June 27, 2000 in a car accident on U.S. 60 in Burna.
Survivors include her parents, Mike and Marilyn Riley of Salem; two brothers, Kyle Riley and Kurt Riley, both at home; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Head of Burna; and a great-grandmother, Elizabeth Riley of Burna.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vernon Riley Jr., and Louis Riley Croft.
Martin
Mary June Martin, 80, of Marion, passed away June 26 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
Funeral services will be held June 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. David LeNeave officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery. An Eastern Star service was held at Gilbert Funeral Home by Marion Eastern Star Chapter #135.
Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Dority of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Junior Martin of Marion; a sister, Bessie Hunt of Marion; a brother, Eddie Byford of Evansville; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Ed Martin, and her parents, Bessie and Lee Boyd.
Bragdon
Funeral services for Rudy Morris Bragdon, 69, of Cave In Rock, Ill., will be held July 29 at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave in Rock. Rev. Larry Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Bragdon passed away June 26, 2000 at Hardin County Hospital.
Bragdon was a member of Potters Church in Cave In Rock and was pilot of the Cave In Rock ferry for several years.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Bragdon of Cave In Rock; four sons, Jeff Bragdon of Evansville, Ind., David Bragdon of Cave In Rock, Mark Bragdon of Piedmont, Mo., and Bobby Bragdon of Rosiclare, Ill.; a daughter, Carla Duncan of Cave In Rock; three sisters, Edith Brittain of Cave In Rock, Billie Long of Rosiclare and Dorothy Smith of Marion, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Kirk
Perleen Kirk, 79, of Salem, passed away June 26, 2000 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
Survivors include her husband, W.A. Kirk of Salem; three sisters, Luvena Bozeman of Marion and Erleen Kitchens and Juanita Johnson, both of Salem; two brothers, Bill Asbridge and Jr. Asbridge, both of Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents were Arthur and Nina Asbridge.
Funeral services were held June 28 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Rice officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Poston
Funeral services for Velour Poston, 47, of Marion, were held June 28 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. David LeNeave officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Poston passed away June 25, 2000 at Crittenden Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian McClure Poston of Marion; three daughters, Catina Poston, Lisa Poston and Melissa Adamson, all of Marion; a son, David Poston of Marion; two brothers, Bill Poston and Bob Poston, both of Cumberland; three sisters, Judy Banks, Gail Maggard and Carolyn Sue Irvin, all of Cumberland; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Edith Poston, and a brother, Ricky Poston.
Driver
Alice Driver, 78, of Kuttawa, passed away June 22, 2000 at Hilltop Nursing Home in Kuttawa. Funeral services were held June 24 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Wade Kennedy officiating. Burial was in Glenn's Chapel Cemetery in Lyon County.
Driver was a homemaker and member of Hebron Baptist Church in Lyon County.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Roy "Sam" Driver; three sons, Roy Driver of Benton, James Driver of Marion and Larnie Driver of Fredonia; seven daughters, Frances Ross, Connie Browning, Carolyn Travis and Mary Peek, all of Kuttawa, Lydia Lantrip of Princeton, Edna Driver of Calvert City and Debra Smith of Tamarac, Fla.; a sister, Gertie Hileman of Eddyville; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Fraliex, James E. Fraliex and Herbert Hoover Fraliex; two sisters, Rella Mae Driver and Nellie Lynch; her parents, James Calvin and Jane Adaline "Ethel" Peek Fraliex; and six half sisters.
Shive
Bradley "Brad" Shive, 36, of Sebree, passed away June 21, 2000 at his home.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Shive of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Brittany Shive of Sturgis; a brother, Greg Shive of Jackson, Mo.; his grandmother, Martha Ann Harper of Marion; and his fiancee, Shelly Woodward of Sebree.
Funeral services were held June 23 at St. William Catholic Church with Father Andy Ausenbaugh officiating. Burial was in St. William Cemetery.
Lanham
Ada Lanham, 84, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Marion, passed away June 18 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center. She was a proof operator for Bank of Indiana.
Surviving are three sons, Charles W. Lanham of Oak Brook, Ill., Robert N. Lanham of Severville, Tenn., and Anthony C. Lanham of LaPorter, Ind.; two daughters, Dorothy Stallion-Bowman of Mercer County and Shirley Crawford of Duncanville, Texas; a brother, Earl P. Eskew of Marion; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Lanham. Her parents were Andrew Peyton and Harriett Elizabeth Kanady Eskew.
Funeral services were held June 21 at Ransdell Funeral Home in Harrodsburg with David Hartman officiating. Graveside services were held June 21 in Mapleview Cemetery.
