C.R. Jones, 80, of Tolu, passed away March 24, 2000 at Crittenden Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, LaVina Jones of Tolu; two sons, Keith Jones of Big Sandy, Tenn., and Chuck Jones of Springfield, Tenn.; two brothers, Robert Jones and Jimmy Jones of Paducah; four sisters, Ann Vanderboegh of Paducah, Sally Loyd of Madisonville, Donna Turyear of Paducah and Linda Armstrong of Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. and Eula Jacobs Jones.
Graveside services were held March 26 at Deer Creek Cemetery with Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating.
Martin
Neel Martin, 71, of Marion, passed away March 25, 2000 at his home. He was a retired Army sergeant first class with 22 years of service. He also retired from Pyro Mining and owned and operated Midway TV Service for nine years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Thelma Martin; a daughter, Diane Martin Bunner of Dublin, Ohio; two sons, John A. Martin of Murray and Scott J. Martin of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Underwood of Portland, Ore.; a niece, Cathy Tooley of Vancouver, Wash.; two great-nieces and two great-great nieces.
Martin was preceded in death by a son, Donald G. Martin, and his parents, Joe and Emily McCarty Martin.
Private graveside services were held March 28 at Union Cemetery with Father Carl McCarthy officiating.
Sherer
Funeral services for Thomas Connard Sherer, 75, of Tolu, were held March 20, 2000 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Porter and Rev. Ken Spurrier officiated. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Sherer passed away March 18 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Sherer of Tolu; a son, Daryl Sherer of Tolu; and five grandchildren, Derek Sherer, Brandon Sherer, T.J. Sherer, Barrett Sherer and Natosha Sherer.

Sanders
Opal Jennings Sanders, 85, of Marion, passed away March 19, 2000 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Crayne Presbyterian Church U.S.A.
Funeral services were held March 22 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Philip Falk and Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, John Sanders of Marion; three sons, Emmett Jennings of Fredonia, Glyndell Jennings of Hicks, Ill., and Robert Jennings of Mattoon; a daughter, Opal Lee Heinz of Worth, Ill.; a sister, Virginia Eaton of Peoria, Ill.; a brother, Rance Westmolan of Lyon County; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Sanders was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy F. Jennings and a son, Charles Ray Jennings.
Jewell
Clarence "Junior" Jewell Jr., 69, of Dycusburg, passed away March 15, 2000 at his home.
Jewell was a retired equipment operator at SKW Alloys in Calvert City. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean Conflict.
Jewell was a member of Dycusburg United Methodist Church, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Dycusburg Masonic Lodge No. 232 in Dycusburg.
Surviving are his mother, Bernetta Bennett Jewell of Paducah; his wife of 49 years, Virginia Travis Jewell; two sons, Billy Jewell of Caldwell County and Ed Jewell of Crittenden County; five brothers, Warron Jewell of San Pedro, Calif., Lewis Jewell, Ronnie Jewell, Kenneth Jewell and Johnny Jewell, all of Caldwell County; four sisters, Joy Pruett of New Ellenton, S.C., Jackie Tidwell of Bomer Elk, N.C., Freda Daniels of Henderson and Ann Johan of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren; one step grandchild; three great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Darel Jewell and Donald Wayne Jewell; and by his father, James Clarence Jewell.
Funeral services were held March 18 at Dycusburg United Methodist Church with Rev.
Gerald Gaddis and Rev. James Oakes officiating. Burial was in Dycusburg Cemetery.

Fryar
Katherine "Kathy" Storms Fryar, 59, of Eddyville, passed away March 17, 2000 at her home.
Fryar was the former head cook for the Lyon County Senior Citizens Center in Eddyville. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Lyon County.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Bill Fryar; a son, Stephen W. Fryar of Benton; a daughter, Paula Kay Roberts of Benton; her mother, Ruby Thomas Croft of Caldwell County; two brothers, James Croft and Robert "Bobby" Croft, both of Caldwell County; two sisters, Betty Looper and Diane Armstrong, both of Smithland; a step sister, Helen Stewart of Pembrook; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl F. Storms.
Funeral services were held March 19 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Willis McCracken, Rev. Ronnie Stinson, Rev. Kerry Bryant and Rev. Rick Reeder officiating. Burial was in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.

Splittorff
Gusta M. Splittorff, 95, of Elberfeld, Ind., passed away March 18, 2000 at Southwind Healthcare in Boonville, Ind. She was a member of Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church near Boonville.
Surviving are a daughter, Ina Marie Cunditt of Marion; a son, Adam Splittorff of Elberfeld, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Phillip Splittorff and a great-grandson, Jeremy Bryant.
Funeral services were held March 20 at Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial was in McClary Cemetery near Jockey, Ind.

Gary Wayne Watson, 51, of Tolu, passed away March 18, 2000 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a member of the V.F.W., Disabled American Veterans and the Eagles Club.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Wayne Watson of Radcliff and Matthew Taylor Watson of Tolu; a daughter, April White of Radcliff; three brothers, Harold Glore of Tolu, Ralph Tinsley of Marion and Keith Watson of Greens Ferry, Ark.; two sisters, Sandra Holloman of Marion and Janette Cashion of Chicago; and one grandchild.

Payne
Funeral services for Forrest C. Payne, 78, of Marion, were held March 20, 2000 at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating.
Payne is survived by two sisters, Mary Sicher of Dearborn, Mich., and Virginia Packenham of Tuscon, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Montie Payne and a brother, William Payne.
