Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Crider
Martha Nell Crider, 79, of Marion, passed away Feb. 21, 2000 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Mexico Baptist Church and the Crittenden Hospital Auxiliary.

Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Malcom of Crayne, a son, Kerry Crider of Calvert City; two brothers, Ralph Conyer of Evansville and J. Robert Conyer of Evansville; three grandchildren, LeAnn Hutchings, Kayle Malcom and Jason Crider; three great-grandchildren, Kayla E. Malcom, John L. Malcom and Haley B. Crider.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chat Crider.

Funeral services were held Feb. 23 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Groff officiating. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mexico Baptist Church, 128 Mexico Road, Marion, KY 42064 or to Crittenden Hospital Auxiliary, U.S. 60 West, Marion, KY 42064.

Zimmerman
Graveside services for Oron Zimmerman Sr., 82, of Marion, were held Feb. 17, 2000 at Holder Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Howton officiating.

Zimmerman passed away Feb. 16, 2000 at his home.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Zimmerman; three daughters, Phyllis Freeman of Jacksonville, Ill; Jeanice Hays of Farmington, N.M., and Karla Edwards of Blue Springs, Mo.; three sons, Oron Zimmerman Jr., of Toquerville, Utah, Conrad Zimmerman of Forest City, Ill., and Jeffery Zimmerman of Henderson; one step-daughter, Susan Holder of Marion; two stepsons, Bill Smith of Marion and Terry Smith of Fredonia; two brothers, Robert Zimmerman of Manitou, Ill., and Nelson Zimmerman of Pennsylvania; one sister, Opal Williams of Pekin, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two wives, four sisters and one brother. His parents were Moses and Nellie Zimmerman.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Lourdes Hospice, 2855 Jackson Street, Paducah, KY 42001.

Knight
Funeral services for Carl Knight, 80, of Kuttawa, were held Feb. 21 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Lyon County with Rev. Eugene Wyatt officiating.

Knight passed away Feb. 19, 2000 at Caldwell County Hospital.

Knight was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Martha Elizabeth Polk Knight; a son, Harold Knight of Lyon County; a daughter, Sue Peek of Crittenden County; a brother, Lonnie Knight of Crittenden County; four sisters, Inez Linzy of Marion, Bonnie Davis of Lyon County, Lois Dycus of St. Louis and Learleen Phillips of California; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. His parents were Charles Henry and Reba May Woodall Knight.

Monahan
Jane Newcom Monahan, 73, of Morgantown, West Va., passed away Feb. 19, 2000. A memorial service was held Feb. 23 and private family graveside services were held at East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown, West Va.

Monahan was a graduate of Marion High School and the Bowling Green Business University and held a bachelor's of science in elementary education from the University of Oklahoma. She was a real estate associate with Pat Stewart Agency for several years in Morgantown.

She was also a long-time member of the Ingleside Book Club in Morgantown, the former university faculty wives association and an active member of the Pines Women's Golf Association.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill Monahan; two sons, W. Gregory Monahan of LaGrande, Ore., Joseph T. Monahan of West Virginia; two grandchildren, Andrew Gregory and Catherine Rutledge Monahan, both of LaGrande, Ore.; and a sister, Ann Cooper of Marion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center of West Virginia University, P.O. Box 9300, Morgantown, WV 26506-9300.

Ramage
Floyd Ramage, 89, of Marion, passed away Feb. 19, 2000 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Feb. 20 at Boyd Funeral Chapel in Salem with Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. A.C. Hodge officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Zola Croft and Freda Morrill, both of Marion; a son, Melvin Ramage of Marion; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ramage, a brother, Jesse Champion and her parents, Collin and Ivy Champion.

Whitt
George "Buddy" Whitt, 58, of Marion, passed away Feb. 17, 2000 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a member of the Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Lou Whitt of Marion; two sons, Mark Whitt of Murray and Stewart Whitt of Marion; three sisters, Barbara Dixon of Winchester, Sandra Beck of Lexington and Janice Cottrell of Nashville; a brother, Larry Whitt of Calvert City; and three grandchildren, Shera Whitt, Adam Whitt and Elizabeth Whitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Lahoma Dell Whitt.

Funeral services were held Feb. 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 130 E. Mound Park, Marion, KY 42064.

Knight
Issac Jewell Knight, 67, of Marion passed away Feb. 21, 2000 at his home.

Knight was a member of Eastview Baptist Church. He was a retiree of Alcan Aluminum.

Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Bernice Ann Knight; three daughters, Jewell Ann Knight of Owensboro, Janet Knight of Evansville and Sherri Long of Panama City, Fla.; a son, David Knight of Marion; a sister, Polly Moore of Henderson; a brother, Kenneth Knight of Henderson; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24 at Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson with the Rev. Tom Burdon officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson.

Gibson
Malcom Gibson, 89, of Providence passed away Feb. 22, 2000 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

He was a well-known livestock dealer and auctioneer. He was a partner with his late brother, Shirley Gibson, in the Gibson Brothers Livestock Company in Providence. He conducted auctions in Kentucky and surrounding states for many years. He was also well-known in the Quarter Horse industry. He trained and showed Quarter Horses and enjoyed trail riding. Gibson was a member of Slover Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Anne Conrad of Providence; a son, Mack Gibson of Providence; three grandchildren, Suzanne Kuester, John Conrad and Sarah Gibson; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24 at First Baptist Church in Providence with Rev. Billy Carter and Rev. William Bruce officiating. Burial will be in Big Hill Cemetery in Providence.

Ford
Velma Jean Ford, 66 of Marion, passed away Feb. 13, 2000 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.

She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.

Ford is survived by two sons, Steve Ford of Dallas, Texas and Greg Ford of Nashville; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Ford of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Floyd Brantley and Wilbur Brantley, both of Marion and Clarence Brantley of Roseville, Mich.; two sisters, Melba Crowell of Marion and Irene Howerton of Bellvue, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Scott Ford, Crissy Seber and Kyle Holder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Ford.

Services were held Feb. 15 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
