Harley Hunt, 89, of Sparta, Ill., formerly of Marion, passed away Dec. 16, 1999 in Sparta.
Surviving are a son, Johnny Hunt of Percy, Ill.; two brothers, Hayden Hunt of Eureka, Mo., and Ted Hunt of Marion; two sisters, Billie Guess of Marion and Marium Marvel of Morganfield; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby M. Hunt.
Funeral services were held Dec. 18 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hunt officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Davis
Claude Earl Davis, 64, of Marion, passed away Dec. 16, 1999 at Dawson Springs.
Graveside services were held Dec. 19 at Cave Hill Cemetery with Rev. Arthur Austin Jr., officiating.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Cook of Marion; three brothers, Millard Davis of Eddyville, Thornton Davis of Springlake, Ill., and Iril Davis of Des Plains, Ill.; and a nephew, Gary Matz of Kuttawa.
Owen
Services for June Owen, 64, of Burna were held April 15 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ed Clement officiating. Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery.
Owen passed away April 13, 1999 at Lourdes Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Coy Owen, Jr. of Burna; a daughter, Candace Champion of Burna; two sons, Coy Owen and David Owen, both of Burna; her mother, Mabel Johnson; two sisters, Wanda Goldsberry of Grown Point, Ind. and Vilane Stegall of Smithland; a brother, Harry Harry Johnson of Briensburg; and four grandchildren.
Owen was preceded in death by her father, James Jennings.
Sutton
Wilma Sutton, 92, of Marion passed away April 15, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital.
She attended Crayne United Presbyterian Church.
Sutton is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Bernice Jennings and Emmett Jennings of Fredonia; two grandsons, Kevin Jennings of New Orleans, La. and David Jennings of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Evah Lee Travis of Crayne; and two great-grandchildren.
Sutton was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Sutton.
Funeral services were held April 17 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Revs. Roy Little and Tommy Hodge officiating. Burial was in Crayne Cemetery.
Westfall
Services for Lillie Bozeman Kirk Westfall, 87, of Marion were held April 18, 1999 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Revs. Russ Davidson and Jack Ferguson officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemtery.
Westfall attended Marion First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Cloyd Westfall of Marion; a daughter, Sue Wring of Marion; a sister, Zula Kirk of Salem; three grandchildren, Glenda Barnes and Sandy Wring, both of Marion and Kirk Wring of Portage, Ind.; two step-sons, Willard Westfall of Texas and Millard Westfall of California; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Westfall was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Kirk; three brothers; a sister; a step-daughter; and her parents, Guss and Bessie Bozeman.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Union Baptist Church building fund.
Bass
Alfred C. Bass, 75, of Marion passed away April 16, 1999 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Dawson Springs.
Bass is survived by two daughters, Christial Guess of Marion and Carolyn Bass of Evansville, Ind.; a son, Alfred Carroll Bass of Newburgh, Ind.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 19 at Loveless Chapel with Revs. Herbert Hope and Mickey Quinton officiating. Burial was in Loveless Chapel Cemetery.
Barnhill
Services for Shirley Eugene Barnhill, 58, of Marion were held April 17, 1999 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Revs. Robert Phillips and Brian Flahardy officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.
Barnhill was a member of the Marion Police Department.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Barnhill of Marion; three sons, Nicholas Barnhill of Marion, Joey Barnhill and Bobby Barnhill, both of Florida; his mother, Jessie Barnhill of Benson, Ill.; a sister, Barbara Jones of Fulton, Tenn.; and a brother, J.R. Barnhill of Peoria, Ill.
Stokes
Phyllis E. Stokes, 53, of Evansville, formerly of Marion, passed away Dec. 9, 1999 at St. Mary's Medical Center from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Stokes was choir director at Mater Dei High School and many churches in and around Evansville. She was a member of Centenary Methodist Church.
A graduate of Central High School, Stokes was a 1975 graduate of the University of Evansville, where she earned a Master's degree in 1980.
Surviving are her husband of 34 years, John Stokes; a daughter, Ellen Holland of Evansville; two sons, Michael Stokes of Evansville and Robert Stokes of Bicknell; her mother, Gracie Louise Waldrop Tucker of Marion; a sister, Winona Baehl of Chrisney; a brother, Larry Tucker of Madisonville; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Douthitt Tucker in 1987.
Funeral services were held Dec. 13 at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel with the Rev. William Copel officiating. Burial was in Tucker Cemetery in Kirksey, Ky.
Nall
Florence Phillips Nall, 97, formerly of Marion passed away Dec. 20, 1999 at Hermitage Nursing Home.
She was a member of Marion United Methodist Church. Nall graduated from Mississippi University for Women and received a master's degree from Vanderbilt University. She taught at Murray State University in the 1930s.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Hayden of Owensboro and Peggy Ballard of Mayfield; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Nall was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Nall.
Services were held Dec. 23 at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro.
