Mildred Hillyard, 85, of Marion, passed away Oct. 24, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.
Surviving are her daughter, Dorothy Paul of Newburgh, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded n death by her husband, Herschel Hillyard.
Funeral services were held Oct. 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Maurice Melton officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Shewmaker
Mary Geneva Shewmaker, 86, of Marion, passed away Oct. 15, 2001 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur Shewmaker of Lake Station, Ind., and Eddie Shewmaker of Marion; four daughters, Carolyn Milan of Pensacola, Fla., Rugena Young, Marilyn Shewmaker and Nancy McKinney, all of Marion; a sister, Gussie Fogle of Evansville; two brothers, George Gipson and Robert Gipson, both of Marion; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Shewmaker; her parents, Gus and Nannie Gipson; a daughter, Brenda Shewmaker; three sons, Joe Shewmaker, Skip Shewmaker and Mark Shewmaker; four grandchildren, Michael and Joel Shewmaker and Donnie and Josh McKinney; three brothers; and a sister.
Funeral services were held at Gilbert Funeral Home Oct. 17 with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Lamb
Leeper Lamb, 88, of Eddyville, passed away Oct. 28, 2001 at his home. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are four sons, Charles Lamb of Nashville, Robert Lamb of Brentwood, Tenn., Jerry Lamb and Mike Lamb, both of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; seven daughters, Dorothy Bingham of Kuttawa, Virginia Rickman of Bowling Green, Evelyn Powers of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Marolyn Gibson of Louisville, Barbara Stephenson of Bowling Green, Linda Jo Lamb of Nashville and Sharon Pratt of Brentwood; a brother, Edward Lamb of Phoenix; a sister, Dora Fisher of Dixon, Tenn.; 22 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle Stone Lamb; three brothers; a sister; and his parents, M.L. and Tela Gill Lamb.
Graveside services were held Oct. 30 at New Bethel Cemetery in Lyon County. Rev. Dan McMullen and Rev. Norman Coleman officiated.

Redmond
Ralph Redmond, 70, of Smithland, passed away Oct. 20, 2001 at Livingston Hospital. No funeral arrangements have been made. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Redmond of Smithland; three sons, Daniel Redmond, David Redmond and Douglas Redmond, all of Tennessee; three daughters, Debbie Redmond, Diann Redmond and Dixie Redmond, all of Tennessee; three stepsons, Bobby Mills of Smithland and Jeff Mills of North Carolina; two stepdaughters, Lana McDonald of Princeton and Genean Ladd of Alabama; two sisters, Betty Longworth and Joett Wilson, both of Tennessee; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Redmond and Ray Redmond. His parents were John and Nellie Estep Redmond.
Cummings
Michael J. Cummings, 50, of Marion, passed away Sept. 25, 2001 at his home. He was a disabled carpenter from Local 944 in San Bernadino, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Cummings of Marion; a daughter, Melissa Cummings of Diamond Bar, Calif.; three sons, Willy Cummings and Steven Cummings of Marion and Michael Cummings, Jr., of Morganfield; his parents, Jerry and Gloria Cummings of Marion; two brothers, Roger A. Cummings of Apple Valley, Calif., and Jonathan Cummings of Stuart, Fla.
His grandparents were Willy and Susie Cummings of Evansville.
Graveside services were held at Slovers Cemetery in Dixon with Elder Jonathan Cummings officiating. Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mattingly
William G. Mattingly, 79, of Carrsville, passed away Oct. 19, 2001 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
He was a member of Hurricane Church, Salem Masonic Lodge No. 81 and Marion Eastern Star Chapter No. 135.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Mattingly of Carrsville; four brothers, Gilbert Mattingly of Whitesville, Delbert Mattingly of Owensboro, Robert Mattingly of Henderson and David Mattingly of Maryville, Tenn.; and a sister, Catherine Hunter of Pontiac, Ill.
Funeral services were held Oct. 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Dodson and Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating.

King
Ina Lois King, 87, of Frances, passed away Oct. 18, 2001 at NHC Nursing Home in Dawson Springs.
She is survived by five sons, Billy Joe Millikan of Marion, Robert Millikan of Marion, Harold King of Burns Harbor, Ind., Jim King of Smithland and Timmy King of Marion; two daughters, Julie Brantley of Marion and Faye Harris of Fredonia; five sisters, Clara Belle Green of Green Bay, Wisc., Mary Butery of Newby, Mo., Lea Winnegar of Peidmont, Mo., Sally Tabor of Marion and Ann Ingle of Waterloo, Ill.; three brothers, Ed Millikan of Speedwell, Tenn., Orlin Millikan and A.J. Millikan, both of Marion; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse King, and a brother, William Millikan of Indiana. Her parents were Carroll Millikan and Iva Mae Jones Millikan.
Funeral services were held Oct. 21 at Frances Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Odom officiating. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Harvey
Berna Driver Harvey, 83, of Rolla, Mo., passed away Oct. 12, 2001 in Rolla. A memorial service was held Oct. 19 at Null and Son Funeral Home.
Harvey was born in Marion. Her parents were Hugh Warren and Nona Reid Driver, who preceded her in death. Harvey was program director at the University of Missouri-Rolla and worked with the Student Union Board until her retirement in 1984.
Surviving are her husband, Ned Harvey of Rolla; a daughter, Mary Bennett of Lexington; two sons, Hugh Harvey of Whitefish Bay, Wisc., and Buz Harvey of Rolla; and three grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Driver.

Stewart
Joseph Leon Stewart, 69, of Salem, formerly of Lowell, Ind., passed away Oct. 18, 2001 at Livingston Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Stewart of Salem; a daughter, Sandra Haberlin of Salem; a sister, Alice Stephenson of Florida; a brother, Noble Stewart, Jr., of Whiting, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
His parents were Noble Stewart, Sr., and Pearl Reed Stewart.
Graveside services will be held Oct. 26 at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, Ind. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
James
Pauline Russell James, 83, of Marion, passed away Oct. 21, 2001 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a retired secretary at Welborn Baptist Hospital in Evansville.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Marion Boone officiating. Burial was in Dunn Springs Cemetery.
