Penn, a former Marion barber, passed away Sept. 27 at Crittenden Hospital.
Surviving are a sister, Margaret Bradford of Marion; three brothers, Darrell Penn and Orbin Penn of Marion and Fred Penn of Lake Station, Ind.; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellie and Melva Brown Penn; a brother; and a sister.
Parks
Funeral services for Ruby Lee Parks, 88, of Tiline, were held Sept. 29, 2001 at Boyd Funeral Chapel in Salem with Rev. Mike Grimes officiating. Burial was in Scotts Chapel Cemetery.
Parks, a member of the United Methodist Church, passed away Sept. 27 at Western Baptist Hospital. She and her family spent several years operating a dairy farm in the Scotts Chapel community.
Surviving are a son, Kenny Parks of Mayfield; a daughter, Patsy Kennedy of Hazel Green, Ala.; several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskel Parks; her parents, Fred and Florence Poindexter; and four sisters.

Chaffin
Glenda Stallion Chaffin, 74, of Evansville, passed away Sept. 26, 2001 at Deaconess Hospital.
Surviving are a daughter, Terri Beth Hagan of Evansville; a son, Mark Steven Chaffin of Evansville; a sister, Dorothy Finnegan of Connecticut; a brother, Dallas Stallion of Florida; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy G. Chaffin; her parents, Will and Betty Stallion of Crittenden County; six brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held Sept. 29 at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel in Evansville with Rev. Shane Scott-Hamblen officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
McCabe
Denver McCabe, 86, of Marion, passed away Sept. 25, 2001 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, was a member of the American Legion Post 0200 in Booneville, Ind., for 51 years and was a retired self-employed carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia McCabe of Marion; three daughters, Sue Allen and Oneita Fitzgerald, both of Evansville, and Wanda Boarman of Fort Branch, Ind.; a son, Kenneth McCabe of Ellington, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Judith Wilder of Chandler, Ind., and Linda Clary of Spottsville, Ky.; two stepsons, Michael Newcom of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Steven Newcom of Evansville; four half-brothers, Williard Williams of Ellington, Mo., Floyd Williams of Naturita, Colo., Paul Williams of Grand Junction, Colo., and Gene Williams of Bunker, Mo.; three half-sisters, Moleane Barenz of Springdale, Ark., Jewel Narramore of Naturita, Colo., and Oneita Sutherland of Nucla, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lula McCabe; a son, Denver McCabe, Jr.; two grandchildren; and one half brother.
Graveside services were held Sept. 28 at Repton Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Brown
Funeral services for Eugene Brown, 80, of Marion, were held Sept. 2, 2001 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Dodson and Rev. Nicky Davis officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
He was a member of Freedom General Baptist Church and Bigham Masonic Lodge No. 256.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ira Brown; three sons, Bobby Brown of Adirondack, NY, and Fred Brown and Ricky Brown, both of Marion; a daughter, Barbara Floyd of Reidland; a brother, Robert Brown of Marion; a sister, Bonnie Prowell of Marion; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Templeton
James A. Templeton, 62, of Marion, passed away Sept. 8, 2001 at his home. He was a retired master plumber and electrician, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Janice Templeton; three sons, Mike Templeton and Scott Templeton, both of Marion, and Jeff Templeton of Garland, Texas; four daughters, Judy Binkley of Marion, Fay Taylor of Morganfield, Donna Johnson of Frisco, Texas, and Beth Hedgepath of Nacona, Texas; and 18 grandchildren.
His parents were William E. and Maggie Templeton.
Funeral services were held Sept. 11 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Russ Davidson officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Winders
Funeral services for Baron Hayden Winders, 60, of Marion, were held Sept. 10, 2001 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Herbert Alexander officiated.
Burial was in Hurricane Cemetery.
Winders, a volunteer fireman and U.S. Army veteran, was retired after 32 years with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. He passed away Sept. 7 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Winders; a daughter, Branda Winders of Rindge, NH; a son, Robert Winders of Jaffery, NH; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Hayden and Elva Winders, and two brothers.
Blaine
Diane Belt Blaine, 46, of Marion, formerly of Union County, passed away Sept. 8, 2001 at her home.
Survivors include her mother, Sue Powers, and stepfather, Hazel Powers both of Morganfield; a daughter, Dusty Witherspoon of Marion; two sons, Joe Williams and Jon Williams, both of Marion; two sisters, Susan Mills of Morganfield and Sandi Embry of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Joey Belt of Marion; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sept. 12 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Dwight Jackson officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Providence.
Vinson
Nora D. Vinson, 52, of Fredonia, passed away Aug. 26, 2001 at Lourdes Hospital. Funeral services were held Aug. 29 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Mike Morris assisted by Dr. Jerrel White. Burial was in Fredonia Cemetery.
Vinson, a member of First Baptist Church, is survived by her husband, Robert Earl Vinson; her parents, James and Helga Dalton of Fredonia; two sons, Eric Vinson and Michael Vinson of Fredonia; a daughter, Rachel Briggs of Fredonia; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Scott Johnson.
Asbridge
Funeral services for Vicki Ann Asbridge, 54, of Marion, were held Aug. 26, 2001 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. John East officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery. Asbridge passed away Aug. 23 at her home.
Asbridge is survived by three sons, Pat Asbridge, Jeff Asbridge and Troy Asbridge, all of Marion; her father, Edwin Bradford of Marion; three brothers, Eddie Bradford of Arkansas, Bernie Bradford and Charles Bradford, both of Marion; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gracie Pauline Bradford.
