Thomas N. Tucker, 86, of Marion, passed away Aug. 24, 2001 at Lourdes Hospital.
He was a graduate of Marion High School and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. After returning home, he joined the funeral business which his father established in 1904, and operated Tucker Funeral Home until 1981 when it was sold and became Gilbert Funeral Home. During the 1900s, he served the district funeral directors in several capacities.
He will be remembered as one of the Crittenden County historians who enjoyed reminiscing. He was one of the oldest members of Marion United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel, and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Tucker Frazer. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Tucker.
Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Stevens
Gene L. Stevens, 79, of Louisville, formerly of Salem, passed away Aug. 24, 2001 at his home.
He retired after a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the American Legion.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Moulden of Louisville; Carol Incledon of Hopewell Junction, NY; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Stevens; and his parents, J.L. Stevens and Effie W. Wolford Stevens.
Graveside services were held Aug. 27 at Salem Cemetery with Rev. Mike Snyder officiating.
Travis
Fred A. Travis, 83, of Marion, passed away Aug. 27, 2001 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
He was a World War II veteran, where he served 5 1/2 years in the South Pacific in the 149th Infantry of the U.S. Army. He also served in the National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Leva Travis; a son, Eddie R. Travis of Nashville; a daughter, Annetta Spencer of Clarksville, Tenn.; two sisters, Brinnie Andrews of Marion and Vernie Asher of Benton; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Aug. 30 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. Walzie Hosick officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Nix
Dickie Nix, 58, of Princeton, passed away Aug. 27, 2001 at his home. He was a retired pipe fitter at Westlake Corporation.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and member and deacon at Lewistown Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Aug. 30 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton. Rev. Joe Dripps will officiate. Burial will be in Scarberry Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Clayton Nix; two sons, Ronnie Nix of Fredonia and Donnie Nix of Princeton; a daughter, Natalie Stovall of Greenville; two brothers, Duane Nix of Rohnert Park, Calif., and Jerry Nix of Coos Bay, Oregon; a sister, Barbara Brodersen of Oxnard, Calif; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents were Troy Nix and Mildred Wood Brown.
Phillips
Funeral services for Roger Wayne Phillips, 77, of Ledbetter, will be held at 11 a.m., Aug. 30, 2001 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Wring and Rev. David Brasher will officiate. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery.
Phillips passed away Aug. 27 at Western Baptist Hospital.
He was a member of North Livingston Hampton Baptist Church, a six-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was retired from ISP in Calvert City.
Surviving are his wife, Mayme Phillips; a daughter, Kendra Phillips of Ledbetter; a sister, Carolyn Brasher of Benton; a brother, Rodney Phillips of Reidland; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents were Roger and Jewell Daily Phillips.
Todd
Donna Marie Todd, 40, of Dycusburg, passed away Aug. 27, 2001 in a traffic accident on Ky. 70 near Frances. She attended Dycusburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, George "T.J." Todd of Dycusburg; her mother, Darlene Gulledge of Marion; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Gulledge.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Aug. 30 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Boling officiating. Burial will be in Dycusburg Cemetery.
Hughes
Fred Eugene Hughes, 78, of Carrsville, passed away Aug. 20, 2001 at Lourdes Hospital. He was a member of Carrsville Pentecostal Church and Carrsville Masonic Lodge No. 812. He was retired from SKW in Calvert City.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Hughes; three daughters, Carolyn Greer of Hampton, Charlotte Williams of Carrsville and Pattie Hopwood of Symsonia; a son, Freddie Hughes II of Carrsville; a brother, James Hughes of Carrsville; a sister, Juanita McDowell of Joy; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Belle Adams Hughes; and a sister, Leona Hurley.
Funeral services were held Aug. 21 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Mac Dossett and Rev. Tony Payne officiating. Burial was in Carrsville Cemetery.
Campbell
Funeral services for William Martin "Jack" Campbell, 87, of Marion, were held Aug. 18, 2001 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Ed Clement, Rev. Tim Baker and Rev. Jerry Thurman officiated. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Campbell passed away Aug. 16 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Seven Springs General Baptist Church, was retired from U.S. Steel, worked at Lafayette Heights Spar Mines and Camp Breckenridge and was a disabled World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rowena Thurman Campbell; a daughter, Peggy Ritch of Marion; a son, William Ed Campbell of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Ola Mae Holder of Marion; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ada Belle Campbell; a granddaughter, Christa Ritch; and a sister, Mary Belle Holder.
Feltner
Emma Lee Ramage Lovett Feltner, 66, of Paducah, passed away Aug. 16, 2001 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Erin Ramage of Panama City, Fla.; two daughters, Carolyn King of Paducah and Dianne Gissell of Gilbertsville; her mother, Mae Dickerson Ramage of Burna; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. James Lovett; her second husband, Marshall Feltner; and her father, Ross Ramage.
Graveside services were held Aug. 17 at Old Salem Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
