Jerry Belt, 73, of Marion, passed away June 21, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Hurricane Church.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Naomi Belt; two sons, William Roy Belt and Jerry Ray Belt, both of Marion; three brothers, Ed Belt, Claude Belt and Percy Roy Belt, all of Marion; two sisters, Katherine Newcom of Benton and Bernice Woodall of Evansville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and his parents, Roy L. and Bernice Belt.
Funeral services were held June 23 at Hurricane Church with Rev. Charles Brantley, Rev. Herbert Alexander and Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating. Burial was in Hurricane Cemetery.

Tinsley
Funeral services for Denise Tinsley, 35, of Marion, were held June 22, 2001 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Nicky Davis officiating. Tinsley passed away June 19 as a result of an automobile accident in Ohio County.
Tinsley is survived by her husband, Wesley "Pat" Tinsley; a son, Caleb Tinsley, at home; her parents, William "Bill" and Carolyn Sue Sunderland of Marion; two brothers, David Glenn Sunderland and Roger Darrell Sunderland, both of Marion.

Boswell
Charles Boswell, 75, of Tiline passed away June 15, 2001 at Hilltop Nursing Home.
He was a member of Mint Springs Baptist Church. Boswell served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946 on the USNTS, Great Lakes, Ill.; USNATB, Ft. Pierce, Fla.; USS Union; and USNTS, Newport R.I. He also served with the 1850th AACS Mobile Communications Squadron out of Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.
Medals he was awarded include the point system, Victory Ribbon, American Area Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, a good conduct medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
Survivors include four daughters, Debbie Hunter of Calvert City, Arlene Schockey of Loveland, Colo., Nelda Johnson and Sheryl Boone, both of Grand Rivers; a son, Del Boswell of Paducah; a sister, Louise Engler of Lake Station, Ind.; two brothers, Tom Boswell of Lake Station and Robert Boswell of Hobart, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Della and Etna Greenlee Boswell; two brothers and a sister.
Services were held June 18 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Lowrance and Rev. David LeNeave officiating. Burial was in Leeper Cemetery in Tiline.
Butler
Joseph Earl Butler, 78, of Henderson, passed away June 15, 2001 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henderson where he served as deacon emeritus. Butler served as a technical sergeant in the 83rd infantry division in World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for Bravery.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Butler; two daughters, Linda Flahardy and Joyce Pruitt both of Henderson; a son, Kenneth Butler of Allentown, Pa.; a brother, Carmen Butler of Marion; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held June 18 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Alan Chamness and Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson.

Beard
Wilbur Lincoln Beard, 84, of St. Charles, Ill., formerly of Marion, passed away June 14, 2001 at his home.
He retired in 1981 after 41 1/2 years from Burgess-Norton in Geneva, Ill., as a tool and die night shift foreman.
Beard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Genevieve Brace Beard; four daughters, Alice Jean Weikert of Lawrenceville, Ill., Donna Lee Hodges of New Albany, Miss., Cheryl Ann Stone of Ozark, Mo., and Deanna Lyn Beard of Rankin, Ill.; a sister, Dorothy Helen Barrett of Green Valley, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-granddaughter.

Dalton
William Robert "Bob" Dalton, 73, of Tolu passed away June 18, 2001 at Crittenden Health Systems.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Dalton; a daughter Ronda Dalton Gibson of Kevil; and a brother, John Dalton of Marion.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bennett Dalton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 21, at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating. Burial will be in White's Chapel Cemetery.
Holt
Funeral services for Grace Holt, 85, of Eddyville, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 23, at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Johnnie Davis officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Lyon County.
She passed away June 18, 2001 at River's Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa.
Holt was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Paul of Pineville, La., and Joyce Dorroh of Eddyville; six sisters, Bessie George of Caldwell County, Eddith Vaught of North Carolina, Alma Patterson of Killeen, Texas, Emma Oats of Jonesville, Va., Mildred Blakley of Sturgis and Jettie Scott of Castleberry Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Enoch Henry Scott and Sadie Virginia Stone Scott; her husband, V.T. Holt; five brothers; two half-brothers; three sisters; and two great-grandchildren.
Easley
Sue Rhea Easley, 92, of Huntsville, Texas, formerly of Marion, passed away June 9, 2001 in Huntsville.
She was a member of Marion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Lyell E. Easley of Birmingham and John M. Easley of Tallahassee, Fla.; three daughters, Nancy Prescott of Punta Gorda, Fla., Eloise Leonard of Huntsville, and Greta Poole of Canton, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyell Easley; and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., June 15 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Les Chapman, Sis. Lucy Tedrick and Chris Cook officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.

McKinney
James Walter McKinney, 63, of Providence, passed away June 9, 2001 at his home. McKinney was a former City of Marion employee, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of V.F.W. Post 5484.
Survivors include his mother, Dora McKinney of Princeton; three sisters, Peggy Cox of Angleton, Texas, Ruby Driver of Carrsville, and Janice Gibbs of Evansville; a brother, Danny McKinney of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held June 14 (today) at Melton Funeral Home in Providence with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.
