Wanda Lucas, 73, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away June 3, 2001 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services were held June 6 at Muscatine Funeral Home.
Lucas is survived by her husband, Eugene Lucas, of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews of Marion, Paducah and Muscatine.
Shewcraft
Oda Lee Patton Shewcraft, 92, of Marion, passed away May 29, 2001 at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems as a result of an automobile accident May 27 in Owensboro.
She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Mexico Baptist Church. She was retired from the food service department of the Crittenden County School System and was a member of the Owensboro Chapter of Widowed Persons Service and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Surviving are two sons, Keith Shewcraft of Marion and Carlton Shewcraft of Royalton, Ill; five daughters, Betty Lou Hodges of Marion, and Edna Lee Macon, Dorothy Dean Young, Minnie Nell Martin and Carolyn DeSpain, all of Owensboro; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Frances Shewcraft; her parents, James Lafayette Patton and Sarah Minnie Brasher Patton; a sister, Neomi Ruth Patton; three brothers, Rollin Bryce Patton, Paul Ogle Patton and James Clifton Patton.
Funeral services were held June 3 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Shelby Shewcraft, Rev. Delbert Richardson and Rev. Rodney Groff officiating. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery.
Denton
Elbert Austin "Shorty" Denton, 75, of Salem, passed away May 31, 2001 at Lourdes Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Aleda Pearcy Denton of Salem; a daughter, Kareen Denton of San Antonio, Texas; a son, Alan Denton of Memphis; and a sister, Alberta Konsler of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Giebel A. Denton and Thelma Eblen Denton, and a brother.
Funeral services were held June 3 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. George Phillips officiating. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Lynn
Wilma Mae Lynn, 92, of Marion, passed away June 4, 2001 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Bill Lynn and Fred Lynn of Marion and Charles Lynn of Sedalia, Mo.; three daughters, Robbie Fritts of Morganfield, Dorothy Wade of Paducah and Lois Anderson of Danville; two brothers, Doug Sullenger of Marion and J.L. Sullenger of Hobart, Ind.; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Binkley of Hobart, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Lynn; a granddaughter; four sisters; three brothers; and her parents, Henry and Allie Highfil Sullenger.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., June 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Clarke and Rev. Jack Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Love Cemetery.

Woodall
Hilda M. Woodall, 82, of Marion, passed away May 28, 2001 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Mexico Baptist Church and Frances Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, Allen Woodall of Marion; a son, Jerry Woodall of Lexington; a sister, Gladys Faulkner of Salem; a brother, Billy Baird of Marion; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Effie and Virgil Baird.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., May 31 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Rodney Groff and Rev. Archie Brock will officiate. Burial will be in Mexico Cemetery.

Funeral services for Truman Highfil, 91, of Marion, were held May 28 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Archie Brock and Rev. Rodney Groff officiating. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery.
Highfil, a member of Mexico Baptist Church and former Crittenden County magistrate, passed away May 25, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Sue Crider of Marion; a brother, Jimmy Highfil of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
Alvis
Mary H. Alvis, 89, of Marion, passed away May 25, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Marion United Methodist Church, where a Women's Circle was named in her honor. She was also a member of the Crittenden Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Ronald G. Alvis of Frankfort, formerly of Marion; a brother, Ronald F. "Tink" Hicklin of Marion; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 27 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Ardell "Happy" Lowery, 79, of Tolu, passed away May 25, 2001 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She is survived by her husband, Ollie "Pete" Lowery of Tolu; two brothers, Walt Hillstrand of Chicago and Calvin Hillstrand of Ocala, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held May 27 at Mapleview Cemetery with Rev. Herbert Alexander and Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating.

Kitowski
Funeral services for Mildred Hillyard Kitowski, 80, of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of Marion, were held May 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Frank McCallum officiated. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Kitowski, a member of Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, passed away May 23, 2001 at Canterbury Place in Valparaiso.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Doppelfeld of Lafayette, Ind., and Janis Melton of Valparaiso; a sister, Edith Mae Rushing of Chicago; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Walter, Hubert, Earl, Herbert, Lawrence and Ray Hillyard; and four sisters, Lola, Lurah, Ora and Birthel Hillyard.

Delores R. Rogers, 70, of Marion, passed away May 20, 2001 at Lourdes Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Olin Rogers of Fredonia; a son, Herbert Podenski of Lake Station, Ind.; a stepson, James Rogers of Knox, Ind.; two brothers, Harley Hehr and Elton Hehr, both of Indiana; several nieces and nephews; four grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 23 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Walls officiating. Burial was in Frances Cemetery.
Clark
Graveside services for Emma E. Clark, 95, of Burna, were held May 21, 2001 at Duley Bluff Cemetery with Rev. Larry Starnes officiating.
Clark passed away May 18 at Salem Springlake Care Center. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Surviving are four stepdaughters, Alice Walker, Katherine Day and Grace Sorrell, all of Hampton, and Ruby Peek of Burna; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pearcy Clark.
