Lola Beard, 88, of Marion, passed away May 17, 2001 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Doris Beard of Marion; four grandchildren, Jeanne Bowen of London, England, Joanie Thomas of Benton, Tommy Beard and Donette Perryman, both of Marion; two half brothers, Frank Catilla of Salem and Don Catilla of Paducah; a half sister, Dorothy Tabor of Salem; and her stepmother, Clara Gleason of Tiline.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford Beard, and a son, Bob Beard.
Funeral services were held May 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery.
Moore
Callie Ann Moore, 79, of Fredonia, passed away May 15, 2001 at her home.
Surviving are a daughter, Jody Cypert of Fredonia; a son, Bill Utt of Lenexa, Kansas; two sisters, Naomi Pettigrew of Lee Summit, Mo., and Bessie Brown of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 18 at Mapleview Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Love
Charles A. Love, 70, formerly of Marion, passed away May 10, 2001 in Waco, Texas. Services were held May 13 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, with a graveside service May 16 at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion. Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Love was born in Crittenden County and worked at Frank Conger's Service Station at the corner of Main and Bellville streets in the late 1940s. Following service in Korea with the U.S. Army, Love was associated with Winn's Stores in San Antonio for 29 years. He and his wife managed the Lake Air Apartments in Waco from 1983-1998.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Waco Gem and Mineral Club, where he served on its board of trustees. He was of the Baptist faith, and was baptized at Deer Creek Baptist Church near Sheridan.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Bonnell York Love of Waco; a daughter, Kristine Casey of Lorena, Texas; a grandson; and several cousins in Salem, Sheridan and Providence.
Cosby
Harvey Alfred Cosby, 71, of Burna, passed away May 8, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital.
Survivors include two brothers, Franklin Cosby of Smithland and Hubert Cosby of Burna; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ethel Quertermous Cosby, and a brother, Wilson Cosby.
Funeral services were held May 11 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Stagner officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.
Stout
Funeral services for Sarah Hunt Stout, 71, of Marion, were held May 11, 2001 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Dr. Darrell Clarke officiated. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Stout was a member of Marion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Glenwood Stout of Marion a daughter, Pamela K. Orr of Marion; a son, Steven L. Gilland of Eddyville; a sister, Melba Wilson of Marion; a brother, Marvin Hunt of Marion; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Cruce
Gustava B. Cruce, 92, of the Mexico community, passed away May 8, 2001 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Mexico Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Michael Cruce of Chiefland, Fla.; a brother, Austin Brasher of Mexico; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Sean Michael Cruce.
Funeral services were held at Gilbert Funeral Home May 12 with Rev. Rodney Groff officiating. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery.
Rushing
Joseph Rushing, 76, of Eddyville, passed away May 10, 2001 at Caldwell County Hospital.
Funeral services were held May 12 at Liberty Baptist Church in Lyon County with Rev. Johnny Davis officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery.
Rushing was retired from the maintenance department of Hall's Motor Service in Hodgkins, Ill., and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Gray Rushing; a son, Donald W. Rushing of Bridgeview, Ill.; three daughters, Sandra Darnell of Sauk Village, Ill., Roseanna Gross of Romeoville, Ill., and Vernetta Carten of Lockport, Ill.; four brothers, Dennis Rushing of Louisville, Marshall Rushing, Spurlin Rushing and Howard Rushing, all of Fredonia; a sister, Etha Fraliex of Fredonia; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Rushing; two sisters, Eva Mae Jones and Era Lou Wright; and his parents, Joseph A. Rushing and Allie Doreen Holloman Rushing.
Reno
Jess Winton Reno, 89, of Marion, passed away May 15, 2001 at Livingston Hospital.
He is survived by a daughter, Shirley Guess of Marion; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ruth Reno; and a daughter, Elinor Kidd. His parents were Zale Reno and Susan Owens Reno.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Boyd Funeral Chapel May 17 with Rev. Mike Morrow officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Louis, Mo.

Pace
Don Mac Pace, 68, of Cocoa, Fla., formerly of Salem, passed away May 5, 2001 in Vidalia, Ga., while visiting friends.
Pace served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957 and later was a college professor at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, Ga. He taught at Murray State University and at Livingston Central High School.
Surviving are a brother, Elvis Glenn Pace of Cocoa, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, E. Wayne Pace, and his parents, Marvin and Cena Chandler Pace.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., May 10 at Boyd Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Melton, Rev. Norman Phillips and Rev. Maxie Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Hardesty
Funeral services for Joseph "Joe" Harold Hardesty, 71, formerly of Marion, were held May 5 at the First Baptist Church of McKensie, Tenn. Burial was in Carroll Memorial Garden in McKensie.
Hardesty, a retired plant supervisor for General Motors Co., of Lansing, Mich., passed away May 2, 2001 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Adams Hardesty of McKensie; three stepsons, Randall Adams of Lansing, Don Adams of Arkansas and Lynn Adams of McKensie; and two sisters, Jean Manchette of Evansville, Ind., and Millie Palmer of Clearwater, Fla.
