Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Franklin
Reba Grace Franklin, 84, of Marion, passed away March 26, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church, Marion Order of Eastern Star Chapter 135 and Bethlehem White Shrine No. 20.

Surviving are two sons, W.A. Franklin, Jr., of Murray and Allen Franklin of Paducah; a brother, Z.C. Oliver of Gary, Ind.; several nieces and nephews and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. Franklin, Sr., and a sister. Her parents were Lela and G.C. Oliver.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., March 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial will be in Frances Cemetery.

Young
William H. "Sam" Young, 68, of Fredonia, passed away March 26, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital. He was owner and operator of Young Implement in Fredonia, a board of director of Fredonia Valley Bank, a member of the American Legion, Fredonia Lions Club and past president of Kentucky Farm Equipment Dealers Association. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fredonia.

Surviving are his wife, Jonell Jackson Young; a son, S.J. Young of Vine Grove; a daughter, Ginger Young of Spring, Texas; a sister, Frances Trigg of Lexington; and two grandchildren.

Young's parents were William Milton and Margaret Howerton Young Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., March 30 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Buddy Pope and Rev. Mike Morris officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Lyon County.

Hunt
Tommie Hunt, 90, of Marion, passed away March 19, 2001 at Salem Springlake Care Center. He was retired from the City of Marion, was a member and deacon of Second Baptist Church, a member of Bigham Masonic Lodge No. 256.

Survivors include three daughters, Connie Bostick, Bonnie Robertson and Beverly Brantley, all of Marion; three sons, Harold Hunt of Marion, Thomas Michael Hunt of Paducah and Cletis Hunt of Marion; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Louise Hunt.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., March 22 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. Tim Baker officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Relay for Life, 504 North Main Street, Marion, KY 42064.

Workman
Graveside services for Dorothy Edna Workman, 75, of Marion, were held March 21, 2001 at Lola Cemetery with Rev. A.C. Hodge officiating.

Workman passed away March 18 at her home.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Workman of Marion and Betty Miles of Fuquay, N.C.; a son, Robert D. Workman of San Antonio, Texas; two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe Gilland and Juddie Lynn Gilland.

Lewis
Oliver W. Lewis, 84, of Marion, passed away March 16, 2001 at his home. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a Kentucky Colonel.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Helen Johnson Lewis of Marion; two sons, Bobby Joe Lewis of Marion and Larry Lewis of Sturgis; two daughters, Olivia Hillyard of Marion and Judi Thompson of Ledbetter; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held March 19 at Mapleview Cemetery with Rev. Jack Ferguson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Relay for Life, 504 North Main Street, Marion, KY 42064.

Watson
Tidie Watson, 93, of Marion, passed away March 20, 2001 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a member of Tolu United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Truitt of Evansville, Mary Belle Smead of Paw Paw, Mich., and Laureen Maynard of Salem; two sons, Vernon Watson of Marion and William Guy Watson of Hopkinsville; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and four step great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Watson; a granddaughter, Ruth Lawson; and a granddaughter, Sharon Maynard.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., March 23 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating.

Buchanan
Funeral services for William Rue Buchanan, 2, of Marion, were held March 19, 2001 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem. Rev. Robert Phillips officiated.

Buchanan passed away March 16, 2001 at Livingston Hospital.

Buchanan is survived by his parents, Richard Dean and Mona Lisa McFarland Buchanan of Marion; his grandparents, Jimmy and Lois McFarland of Marion, Gary and Shirley Buchanan of Marion, and Judy and Neil Hodge of Salem; an aunt and uncle, Renia and Carlos Garrett of Carrsville; an uncle, J.K. McFarlan of Benton; an aunt, Carrie Buchanan of Marion; great-grandparents, Ellen Marie Buchanan of Marion, Melba Wilson of Marion and Carmie Watts of Possum Trot.

He was preceded in death by three grandparents and an uncle.

Collins
Shirley Collins, 65, of Marion, passed away March 16, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital.

Collins was retired from Crittenden Health Systems and was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Marion.

Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Andrew Collins; two daughters, Becky Nalley and Barbara Brantley, both of Sturgis; four sons, James M. Collins of Henderson and Bob Collins, Bill Collins and Ben Collins, all of Sturgis; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 18 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Sturgis with Father Dan Kreutzer officiating. Burial was in St. Ambrose Cemetery in Sturgis.

Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis was in charge of arrangements.

Tinsley
Douglas Vernon Tinsley, 53, of Salem, passed away March 14, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of the Kentucky National Guard.

Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Huff of Evansville; a step son, Jimmy Avery of Marion; a brother, Jim Tinsley of Smithland; two sisters, Shirley Watson of Oakland City, Ind., and Barbara Thatch of Salem; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Tinsley; and his parents, Trice and Ruth Bragdon Tinsley.

Funeral services were held March 17 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.

Baldauf
Deloris Jean Baldauf, 68, of Babson Park, Fla., passed away March 16, 2001 at her home.

She was a homemaker and former business manager at Vanguard School. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as president. She was a 40-year member of the Lake Wales Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, was in the choir and handbell director.

Surviving are her husband, Robert E. "Bob" Baldauf of Babson Park, Fla., formerly of Marion; a daughter, Bonnie Parker of Auburndale, Fla.; three sons Robert M. Baldauf of Holland, Mass., John J. Baldauf of Summersville, S.C., and Andy Baldauf of Babson Park; a brother, Vernon Jett of Garden Grove, Mo.; two sisters, Elise LaVal of St. Thomas and Virgin Islands and Ruby Acord of Dixon, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 20 at Lake Wales Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lake Wales Lutheran School.
