Joseph Boswell, 76, of Oneonta, Ala., formerly of Marion, passed away March 11, 2001 at the V.A. Hospital in Birmingham.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Boswell of Benton; a son, Jerry Boswell of Oneonta; a brother, Bill Tinsley of Bixby, Okla; two sisters, Ada Eskew of St. Peters, Mo., and Irene Huddleston of Madisonville; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 14 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Love Cemetery.
Etheridge
Willard Etheridge, 84, of Marion, passed away March 9, 2001 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
He is survived by three daughters, Loretta Eberle, Bernadine Travis and Margaretta Travis, all of Marion; a son, Clifton Etheridge of Marion; two sisters, Velma Richardson and Imogene Howerton, both of Marion; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, "Little Bill" Eberle.
Funeral services were held March 11 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. Kenny Downs officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Vaughan
George Harry Vaughan, 87, of Marion, passed away March 6, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was a member of Marion Baptist Church, a past president of Marion Town & Country Riding Club, part owner of Phillips Construction, a retired teacher at Union County Vocational School for 15 years, a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a former horse show judge.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Isabelle Phillips Vaughan of Marion; a daughter, Nancy Vaughan Churchill of Linden, Mich.; three sons, G. Phillip Vaughan of Henderson, D. Keith Vaughan of Indianapolis, and Michael W. Vaughan of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; two sisters, Martha Patmore of Marion and Allie M. Feller of Evansville; four brothers, Barnett Vaughan of Evansville, Bruce Vaughan of Phelan Cali, Kelley Vaughan of Kansas City, Mo., and Gavin Vaughan of Hobbs, NM; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and his parents, Eva and Harry Vaughan.
Funeral services were held March 10 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

McKinney
Teresa Mae McKinney, 41, of Smithland, passed away March 7, 2001 at Western Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Nathan Scott McKinney of Salem; her mother, Margery Beard Johnson of Marion; and two brothers, Brad Hamilton and Tony Slayton, both of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Ray Slayton.
Funeral services were held March 10 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Hall officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery.
Martin
Billy Reed Martin, 61, of Marion, passed away March 7, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was a member of Tyner's Chapel Church, Rizpah Shriners Temple in Madisonville and Carrsville Masonic Lodge No. 812.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Martin; two daughters, Marketta Adams of Marion and Janette Winters of Marion; two sons, Harlan Martin of Marion and Ernest Martin of Marion; three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 10 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Howton officiating. Burial was in Asbridge Cemetery.
Brantley
Funeral services for Floyd "Red" Brantley, 80, of Marion, were held Feb. 28, 2001 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Phillips, Rev. Buddy Hix and Rev. Mac Dossett officiated. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Brantley was a retired electrician for Chrysler Corporation and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
Surviving are four daughters, Donna L. Fortenberry of Mooresville, N.C., Sheila Truitt of Marion, Debbie Croft of Marion and Rita B. Philbrick of Sarasota, Fla.; five sons, Robert D. Brantley of Douglasville, Ga., Daniel L. Brantley of Vandolia, Ill., Arnold R. Brantley of Del City, Okla., Marshall Brantley and Claude K. Brantley, both of Hillsboro, Mo.; two brothers, Wilbur Brantley of Marion and Clarence Brantley of Roseville, Mich.; two sisters, Melba Crowell of Marion and Irene Howerton of Nashville; 27 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Sullenger
Paul Sullenger, 77, of Marion, passed away March 3, 2001 at his home. He was a member of Marion Baptist Church; he was a 50-year Mason; veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy; and a member of VFW Post No. 5486. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 111, president of Town and Country Riding Club and part owner of Sullenger Brothers Tucking. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Sullenger of Marion; two brothers, Douglas Sullenger of Marion and J.L. Sullenger of Hobart, Ind.; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Binkley of Valparaiso, Ind., and Wilma Lynn of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Blanche Rogers, Ruby Beard, Edith Johnson and Louise Bebout; two brothers, Foster Sullenger and Guy Sullenger; and his parents, Henry and Allie Sullenger.
Funeral services were held March 6 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. David Winders and Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Eaton
Virginia Stalion Eaton, 89, of Peoria, Ill., formerly of Marion, passed away March 4, 2001 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
She was a member of Southland Baptist Temple in Paducah.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Stalion of Groveland, Ill.; two daughters, Ella Pauline Caruth of West Peoria, Ill., and Ann Wring of Memphis; two stepdaughters, Joann Norman of Peoria and Kathy Doyle of Cheyenne, Wyom.; a stepson, Sidney Eaton of Nevada; a brother, Rance Wesmolan, Jr., of Eddyville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Crawford Stalion, and her second husband, Charles Eaton.
Funeral services were held March 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Council officiating. Burial was in Love Cemetery.
Ball
Funeral services for Vernon Oliver Ball, 58, of Chesterton, Ind., formerly of Dycusburg, were held Feb. 28, 2001 at the Eastlake Baptist Church in Crown Point, Ind. Burial was in Angelcrest Cemetery.
Ball passed away Feb. 25. He was born in Dycusburg. He was a retired steel worker, working on the Inland Steel No. 3 Pickle Line for 33 years. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Local Union No. 1010. He was a member of Eastlake Baptist Church for 35 years.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Donna; two daughters, Margie Staples of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Lisa Ball of Chesterton; four brothers, Danny Ball of Chesterton, Larry Ball of Crawfordsville, Leon Ball of Anahuae, Texas and Jimmy Ball of Portage, Ind.; two sisters, Barbara Polk of Marion and Sandra Case of Allegan, Mich; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
Glore
Earl Pete Glore, 76, of Tolu, passed away Feb. 28, 2001 at Livingston Hospital.
He is survived by two brothers, John Glore, Jr., of Tolu and James Glore of Marion; two sisters, Shirley Nesbitt of Tolu and Betty McDaniel of Chicago.
Funeral services were held March 3 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
