Woodrow "Woody" Alderdice, 88, of Marion, passed away March 1, 2001 at Salem Springlake Nursing Home. He was the former owner of Marion Western Auto, former mayor of Marion; a member of the board of directors at The Peoples Bank in Marion; and a member of Marion Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille Alderdice; a son, Jim Alderdice of Milan, Tenn.; a daughter, Donna Lingo of Crestwood; two sisters, Sue McReynolds and Jewel Vandever of Mayfield; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Boulton Alderdice.
Funeral services were held March 4 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Randell Jernigan officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Threlkeld
Annie Lee Threlkeld, 85, of Hampton, passed away March 5, 2001 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Hampton Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Phillip W. Threlkeld of Ledbetter and Mitchell L. Threlkeld of Princeton; two daughters, Angie J. Chittenden of Hampton and Patricia A. Hooks of Martin, Tenn.; a sister, Mary J. Ramage of Hampton; a brother, Robert B. Mitchell of Paducah; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne L. Threlkeld; a brother, Clinton Mitchell; and her parents, George and Mabel Riddle Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., March 8 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Jimmy Wring and Rev. Mike Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery.
LaRue
Paul LaRue, 85, of Louisville, passed away March 4, 2001 at Baptist East Hospital. He was a retired heavy truck sales manager for Summers-Herrmann Ford Trucks and a native of Crittenden County.
LaRue received the Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart while serving in World War II and Korea in the U.S. Army. He participated in the D-Day invasion and served in all major campaigns in Europe. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 1170 in Middletown, Ky., and St. John's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Joy Lerch LaRue of Louisville; a daughter, Betty Joy LaRue Coffman of Louisville; a son, Eddy Gene LaRue of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held March 8 at Pearson's Funeral Home in Louisville with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Little
Pearl A. Little, 89, of Marion, passed away Feb. 25, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a retired secretary at the Office of Attorney General for the state of Illinois; a past Worthy Matron Old Glory Chapter No. 799 Order of Eastern Star of Ill.; and member of Marion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Roy Little of Marion; a sister, Macie Damron of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Her parents were Lemma and Tom Little.
Funeral services were held Feb. 27 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating. Burial was in Lola Cemetery.
Dawson
Funeral services for Dessie L. Dawson, 89, of Marion, formerly of Macon, Ga., were held Feb. 26, 2001 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Keith officiating. Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Love Cemetery .
Dawson was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Ann Shewmaker of Marion; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Dixon
Carrie Lee Dixon, 89, of Tolu, most recently of Illinois, passed away Feb. 23, 2001 at East Georgia Medical Center in Statesboro, Ga.
She was employed as a cook at several restaurants in Illinois through her adult life, and moved to Statesboro, Ill., in 1997 to live with her daughter. She was a member of Barnett Chapel Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Anita May of Statesboro, Ga.; a brother, Jimmy Stone of Marion; two stepdaughters, Marlene Dixon of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mary Baldwin of Hackerstown, NJ; two stepsons, Charles Dixon of Kempton, Pa., and Richard Dixon of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 25 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Winders officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Clarke
Marca Lee Clark, 72, of Salem, passed away Feb. 26, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John W. Clarke of Salem; two sons, Jeff Clarke of Reidland and Chris Clarke of Marion; two daughters, Tandy Higgins of Bowling Green and Lori Sowell of Salem; and seven grandchildren.
Her parents were Willie Franklin and Lillian Peck Boswell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., March 1 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. John East, Rev. Jim Dwiggins and Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gloria A. Duke, 75, of Marion, formerly of Nashville, passed away Feb. 26, 2001 at Crittenden Hospital.
Survivors include a sister, Jacquline H. Pine of Cookeville, Tenn.; a nephew, John Hobbs of Nolensville, Tenn.; two great- nephews and a great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. and Mary Prince Duke.
Private graveside services were held Feb. 28 at Mapleview Cemetery with Rev. John Conn officiating.

William T. Chadwick, Sr., 87, of Taylor, Mich., passed away Feb. 14, 2001 at Henry Ford-Wyandotte Hospital in Wyandotte, Mich.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Chadwick of Taylor, Mich.; a son, William T. Chadwick, Jr., of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; a daughter, Joan M. Pank of Harrison, Mich.; a sister, Mildred Cullum of Humbolt, Tenn.; a brother, Otho "Joe" Chadwick of Erin, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 18 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Cortis Hill officiating. Burial was in Crayne Cemetery.
Fox
Edna Ray Fox, 86, of Marion, passed away Feb. 15, 2001 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star and White Shrine.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy Fox of St. Louis and Roy Fox of Owensboro; a sister, Joy Hodge of Moline, Ill.; a brother, Perry James of Marion; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Jasper Fox.
Funeral services were held Feb. 17 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Ferguson and Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Interment was in Mapleview Cemetery.
