Tom Kinslow, 64, of Princeton, passed away Dec. 30, 2001 at Caldwell County Hospital. He was a retired purchasing agent for Johnson Controls.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Princeton.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy Burchett Kinslow; a son, Morgan Kinslow of Benton; three daughters, Debbie Kinslow of Hopkinsville, Kim Kinslow of Paducah and Melissa Conner of Marion; a sister, Julia Schleff of Louisville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Jackson Kinslow; and his parents, Morgan Lee Kinslow and Anna Frances Jackson Kinslow.
Funeral services were held Jan. 2 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Mickey Quinton officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Hobbs
Nellie J. Hobbs, 66, of Tolu, passed away Dec. 27, 2001 at her home.
Graveside services were held Dec. 31 at Hurricane Cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Diane Leatherwood of Bessmer, Ala., Gloria Jean Waters of Evergreen, Ala., and Michelle Brown of Madisonville; a stepdaughter, Carla D. Tinsley of Crayne; three sons, Phillip McFerrin of Evergreen, Ala., Bobby Joe Hallman of Navarre, Fla., and James Hallman of Brookwood, Ala.; a brother, Phillip Marcum of Rockford, Ala; a stepson, Rodney Hobbs of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Hobbs and Roy Hallman; and a grandson, Logan Hobbs.
Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
George
Eva Mae George, 89, of Calvert City, formerly of Marion, passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002 at Oakview Nursing Home in Calvert City.
She was a homemaker and member of New Life Baptist Church in Paducah.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, William R. George; a brother and sister.
Her parents were A.J. Sutton and Eliza Mills Sutton.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Helen Casey of Ledbetter and Don and Cheri George of Long Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; six nephews and one niece.
Services were Sunday, Dec. 22 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville with the Rev. Michael Grimes officiating. Burial in New Bethel Cemetery in Lyon County.
Franklin
Thomas R. Franklin, 76, of Marion, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Franklin; two sons, Patrick Thomas Franklin and Curtis Ray Franklin, both of Marion; three daughters, Patricia Sue Franklin and Tammy Lewis, both of Marion, and Carla Renee Hardin of Salem; two sisters, Iva Nell Rowe of Rhode Island and Patsy Hutchcraft of Evansville, Ind.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral service was 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. David LeNeave, the Rev. Wayne Carter and the Rev. Mike Morrow officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery.
Maddux
Hazel S. Maddux, 83, of Salem, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and The Birthday Club.
Mrs. Maddux is survived by two sons, Gregory Maddux of Marion and Phil Maddux of Salem; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse P. Maddux, and one sister. Her parents were Leo P. and Lou Ella Ware Boyette.
Funeral service was Monday, Dec. 23 at Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. John East officiating. Burial in Salem Cemetery.

Joseph H. Smith Sr., 76, of Burna, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Mr. Smith is survived by four sons, Joseph H. Smith Jr. of Lula, Ga., Gary Martin of Brooksville, Fla., Joseph Kelly Smith of Burna, Steve Martin of Lowell, Tenn.; two daughters, Glenda Sloam of The Village, Barbara Smith of Posen, Ill.; two brothers, John Benny Smith of Lola and Paul G. Smith of Arkansas; two sisters, Louise Jobe of Elmhurst, Ill. and Dollie Hooten of Salem; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edith J. Smith; one brother and two sisters. His parents were Joseph and Birdie Buckler Smith.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bishop Erby Reed officiating. Burial in Salem Cemetery.
Hunt
Lula Belle Hunt, 62, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital.
A member of Hurricane Church, she is survived by several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Hunt.
Her parents were Lonnie and Mae Workman.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating. Burial in Mapleview Cemetery.
Beshears
Evalyn Beshears, 79, of Marion, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
She attended Marion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, William Beshears of Eddyville; one daughter, Tonya Brann of Windermere, Fla.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
Her parents were John and Myrtle Wright. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Beshears, a sister and brother.
Funeral service was Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Hunt
Ronnie Hunt, 51, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002 at home.
He was a member of Cave Springs General Baptist Church, Crittenden County Rescue Squad and Fire Department, Chief of Shady Grove Fire Department, Crittenden County First Responders and Boilermaker Local 40.
Survivors include his wife, Evonne Hunt of Marion; son, Shane Hunt of Marion; daughter, Kristin Belt of Marion; and two grandsons.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Phillips and the Rev. Bill Ervin officiating. Burial in Mapleview Cemetery.

Marie Threlkeld, 90, of West Chester, Pa., formerly of Marion, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 in Bellingham, Pa.
Survivors include her daughters, Alice C. Lodge of Strafford, Pa.; sister, Shirley Schramm of Marion; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
