Anna F. Bartley, 81, of Marion, passed away Oct. 27, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Hurricane Church.
Suriving are two daughters, Jackie Warden of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Geraldine Wynn of Fredonia; four sons, Bennett Hodge of Chicago, James Hodge, Ted Hodge and Garald "Coffeebean" Hodge, all of Marion; two brothers, Rev. David Winders and Rev. Donnie Winders, all of Marion; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; on stepgrandchild; and seven stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Hodge; and her parents, William Jackson and Maude Lenora Winders.
Funeral services were Oct. 28 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. David Winders and Rev. Donnie Winders officiting. Burial was in Dunn Springs Cemetery.
Simpkins
GRAND RIVERS, Ky. William Carter Simpkins, 74, passed away Oct. 28, 2002 at Salem Springlake Care Center. He was a retired captain for Ingram Barge Company.
Funeral services were Oct. 31 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Barnes officiating. Burial was in Pinckneyville Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Arizona Jean Simpkins of Grand Rivers; a brother, Doyle Simpkins of Redfield, Ark.; four sisters, Juanita Hosick of Salem, Virgina Shewcraft of St. Louis, Dorotha McChesney of Poplar Grove, Ark., and Mona Barnes of Marion.
His parents were Bill Simpkins and Aileen Lee Simpkins.
Klein
BURNA, Ky. Violet Lillian Klein, 91, passed away Oct. 27, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Burna since 1973.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen Marshall of Burna; seven grandchildre; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Durland and Bertha White Durland; her husband, Emmanuel Klein; a daughter, Udina Mae Pitts; a brother, Sylvania B. Durland; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were Oct. 30 at Boyd Funeral Home ith Brother Phillip Yancey officiating. Burial was in Loveless Chapel Cemetery.
York
PROVIDENCE, Ky. Kenneth Lindy York, 75, formerly of Marion, passed away Oct. 26, 2002 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
He was owner and operator of York Drilling Service of Providence. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Billie York; two sisters, Pauline Writtenberry of Marion and Rose Hoyne of Gainesville, Fla.; two brothers, Robert York and Leroy York, both of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Della York; a brother, Shelby York; and a sister, Charlene Hobbs.
Funeral services were Oct. 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Mack Gibson officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Curnel
Sarah Ellen Curnel, 78, of Marion, passed away Oct. 28, 2002 at her home. Funeral services were Oct. 31 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Surviving are three sons, William "Junior" Curnel and Paul Curnel, both of Salem, and John Russell Curnel of Marion; two daughters, Phyllis "Patty" DeOre of Marion and Hazel Vassure of Joy; four sisters, Murial Belt of Salem, Pearl Wagner of Paducah, Gracie King of Arkansas and Arla Givens of Carrsville; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Curnel; a son, Eddie Curnel; a daughter, Rugina McClure; and a grandson, William L. Curnel.
Bennett
EDDYVILLE, Ky. Eddie H. Bennett, 59, passed away Oct. 26, 2002 at his home. He was a retired car salesman for Princeton Buick, Pontiac and GMC. He was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church in Crittenden County.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Horning Bennett of Eddyville; two stepdaughters, Tresa Blackburn of Princeton and Donna Jo Dinsmore of Eddyville; two stepsons, Michael Bush of Princeton and Roy Bush of Houston, Texas; two brothers, David Bennett of Calvert City and Keith Bennett of Bishopsville, S.C.; two sisters, Debra Orenduff of Marion and Betty Jo Manley of Oneida; and five stepgrandchildren.
His parents were Harold and Edwina Beard Bennett.
Funeral services were Oct. 29 at Lakeland Funeral Home with Rev. Shoney Oliver and Rev. Eugene Wyatt officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Kinnis
PADUCAH, Ky. Funeral services for Clifford "Eddie" Kinnis, 42, formerly of Marion, will be held Oct. 26 at Seven Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Howton officiating. Burial will be in Asbridge Cemetery.
Kinnis passed away Oct. 22, 2002 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Terry Rose Kinnis of Paducah; a son, Dion Hoskins of Paducah; two daughters, Tammy Jones of Paducah and Jamie Elliott of Calvert City; three sisters, Shirley Alexander of Possum Trot, Brenda Zollinger of St. Claire, Mo., and Nancy Marshall of Eddyville; two brothers, Dale Kinnis of Eddyville and Demitrious Kinnis of Frances; several nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Reba Kinnis; and a daughter, Toni Hoskins Harris.
Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Harrison
JACKSON, Mich. Marion Harrison, 80, formerly of Marion, passed away Oct. 21, 2002 at her home. She was a member of Mexico Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Desmond Harrison of Jackson; two sons, Ron Harrison of Fredonia and Phillip Ray Harrison of Jackson; a brother, Clarence Higgins of Fredonia; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Oct. 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Groff officiating. Burial will be in Mexico Cemetery.

Schmucker
SALEM, Ky. Graveside services for Fern Schmucker, 39, were held Oct. 23 at the Amish Cemetery in Salem with Eli Miller officiating.
Schmucker passed away Oct. 20, 2002 at her home.
Surviving are her husband, Ray Schmucker of Salem; her parents, Lester and Katie Miller Yoder of Salem; six sons, Blaine Lee Schmucker, Matthew Ray Schmucker, Timothy Lynn Schmucker, Luke Allen Schmucker, Seth Adam Schmucker and Caleb Aaron Schmucker, all of Salem; four daughters, Kristy Marie Schmucker, Lori LeAnn Schmucker, Rita Jo Schmucker and Jenny Rae Schmucker, all of Salem; five brothers, Wesley Yoder of Monticello, Ky., Stan Yoder of White Pigeon, Mich., Steve Yoder, Lester Yoder and Henry Yoder, all of Garnett, Kansas; five sisters, Faye Bontrager of Haven, Kansas, Vera Yoder of Garnett, Kansas, Marilyn Esh of Mifflinburg, Penn., Lisa Miller of Berlin, Ohio and Rita Stoltzfus of Lewisburg, Penn.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Lee Yoder.
