CAVE IN ROCK, Ill. Funeral services for Harry W. Dutton, 83, were held Oct. 9, 2002 at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave In Rock. Burial was in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Dutton passed away Oct. 7 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, Ill. Dutton was a member of Harrisburg American Legion Post, Ridgeway VFW Post and Boilermakers Union No. 363.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie Hamp Dutton of Rosiclare, Ill.; a daughter, Grace Ann Volkening of Eldorado; a stepdaughter, Donna Lewis of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a sister, Erma Kary of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother, Billy Wright of Booneville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tom Dutton.
Bradford
CROFTON, Md. William David "Dee" Bradford, 75, passed away Oct. 1, 2002 at his home. He was born in Crayne, served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Wisconsin during World War II and attended Western Kentucky University and the University of Georgia. He retired as an executive from Chrysler Corporation where he had worked 35 years and later retired as an executive from Mid-Atlantic Toyota after 10 years. He was a member of Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church.
Bradford is survived by his wife, Anna Bradford; two sons, David Bradford of Charlotte, N.C., and Steven Bradford of Annapolis, Md.; a sister, Lois Fox of Chicago; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 8424 Veterans Hwy., Millersville, MD 21108 or to Crofton Junior Golf, Crofton Country Club, 1691 Crofton Pwky., Crofton, MD 21114.
McKinney
SALEM, Ky. Pauline Croft McKinney, 90, passed away Oct. 6, 2002. Graveside services were held Oct. 8 at Pleasant Grove General Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Herbert Alexander officiated.
McKinney was life-long member of Pleasant Grove General Baptist Church which her family helped to establish many years ago.
Surviving are five sons, Jimmie McKinney of Marion, Doug McKinney of Joy, Gary McKinney and Donnie McKinney of Henderson and Larry McKinney of Marion, Ill.; four sisters, Mary Sills, Wilma Jean Ramage Belt and Edna Croft, all of Salem, and Virginia May of Mishawaka, Ind.; a brother, Richard Davis Croft of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McKinney; two grandsons, Donnie Paul McKinney and Josh McKinney; a sister, Corine Bebout; and five brothers, Stanley Croft, Doug Croft, Jay Croft, Williard Croft and Cecil Croft. Her parents were Alonzo and Mae Croft of Salem.
Tosh
CHANDLER, Ind. Dorothy Q. Tosh, 85, passed away Sept. 25, 2002 at her daughter's home in Newburgh, Ind.
Tosh was a 59-year member of Bethel Temple, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked at the Evansville State Hospital and retired in 1979 from the psychiatric unit at Welborn Baptist Hospital.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Byers of Newburgh, Ind., Bessie Rose West of Indianapolis, Ind., and Laurel Mason of Newburgh; a brother, Rabon Travis of Fredonia; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ray Tosh, and a son, John Charles, in 1980.
Funeral services were held Sept. 2 at Boone Funeral Chapel with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Temple.
Hughes
PRINCETON, Ky. John D. Hughes, 67, passed away Oct. 4 at Princeton Health Care Manor. He was a retired construction worker.
Funeral services were held Oct. 9, 2002 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with burial in White Sulphur Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Surviving are two sons, Johnny Hughes of Princeton and Tommy Vied of Marion; two daughters, Kathy Merrill and Sandy Hughes, both of Princeton, Ind.; two brothers, Ray Hughes of Fullerton, Calif., and Wayne Hughes of Valparaiso, Ind.; three sisters, Marie Kirk of Marion, Vickie Payne of Carmel, Ind., and Ann Tolley of Godfrey, Ill.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Sue Hughes. His parents were Walter and Rose Thomas Hughes.
Gilland
SALEM, Ky. Funeral services for Willie Paul Gilland, 74, were held Oct. 6 at New Union General Baptist Church with Bro. David Davis, Bro. Greg West and Bro. Donnie Howton officiating. Burial was in New Union General Baptist Church Cemetery. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Gilland passed away Oct. 3, 2002 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a member of New Union General Baptist Church and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 81 in Salem.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Gilland of Salem; a daughter, Paula Patton of Marion; a son, Wesley Gilland of Smithland; a brother, J.D. Gilland of Salem; six sisters, Coreen Crimmett and Pauline Damron, both of Salem, Dorothy Crawford of Lola, Roberta May of Chicago, Rowena McKendrie of Benton and Wanda James of Shephardsville; three grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Gilland Shaffer; a sister, Sue Hensley; and his parents, Russell Gilland and Rena Croft Gilland.
Riley
Funeral services for Richard Arnold Riley, 48, of Marion, will be held at 1 p.m., Oct. 10 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Sister Lucy Tedrick and Rev. Mike Franklin will officiate. Burial will be in Rowland Cemetery of Marion.
Riley passed away Oct. 6, 2002 at his home. He was a member of Enter Apprince Bingham Lodge No. 256.
Surviving are his mother, Sarah Riley of Marion; and three sisters, Debbie Riley of Marion, Kathy Brandon of Georgetown and Sandra Dickerson of Smithland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Myron Riley.
Smith
SALEM, Ky. Ocie Ophelia Smith, 82, passed away Oct. 2, 2002 at Livingston Hospital. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Surviving are six sons, Charles Glore, Bill Smith and Ray Smith of Levias, D.L. Glore of Lola and Ronnie Glore and Bennett Smith of Marion; three daughters, Dora Belt of Clarksville, Sue Barnes of Salem and Grace Holman of Levias; a sister, Ethel Cope of Mayfield; 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Cecil and Bertha Miller; two husbands, Charlie Glore and Aaron Smith; a son, Eddie Glore; and a grandson, Charles Eugene Glore III.
Funeral services were held Oct. 5 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. A.C. Hodge, Bro. Robert Phillips and Bro. Mike Morrow officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.
Easterling
Larry E. Easterling, 60, of Marion, passed away Oct. 2, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy McConnell of Marion and Kimberly Pendley of Spring Grove, Ill.; two sons, Dale Easterling of Antioch, Tenn., and Rick Easterling of Island Lake, Ill.; a sister, Gladys Farris of Southhaven, Miss.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Faye Easterling.
Funeral services were held Oct. 4 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Dr. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial was in Rock Springs Cemetery in Wheatcroft.
