Stanley H. Brady, 83, of Maysville, passed away Sept. 14, 2006, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
Mr. Brady was a retired assistant police chief for the Maysville Police Department, serving from 1953 to 1974. Following his retirement, he worked for Dravo Lime for 20 years. He was a 40-year member of the Masonic Lodge, a 35-year member of the DeKalb Lodge and state treasurer of the FOP for 10 years. Mr. Brady was a veteran of the U. S. Army during WWII, serving under Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the Southern Philippines, Luzoni and New Guinea. He received two Bronze Stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
Born May 29, 1923, in Mason County, he was the son of the late Stanley W. and Edith McGee Brady.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Helphenstine Brady; one son, George (Beverly) Brady of Tollesboro; four daughters, Sandy Tuel Thurman of Lewisville, Texas, and Connie (Ron) Mullikin, Angela (Ernie) Soister and Jennifer (Tommy) Royse, all of Maysville; one sister, Helen Trumbo of Tollesboro; eight grandchildren, Jason Mullikin, Shawn Soister, Kyle Soister and Logan Royse, all of Maysville, Eric Soister of Flemingsburg, Staci Morris of Leonard, Texas, Lathe Brady of Versailles and Jessica Hazlett of Seaman, Ohio; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Elizabeth Harney and Emma Brady; two brothers, Henry K. Brady and Walter M. Brady; one grandson, Nathan Perry Brady; and his mother-in-law, Mary E. Helphenstine.
Funeral services were conducted Sept. 18 at Brell & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Mason Harrod and Pastor Michael Canada officiating. Burial was in the Maysville Cemetery with full military rights provided by Maysville VFW post 2734.
Jean R. Crawford
Jean R. Crawford, 77, of Flemingsburg, passed away June 6, 2006, at Fleming County Hospital.
Mrs. Crawford was a retired head cashier who worked for Fleming Mason R.E.C.C. for over 44 years. She was a member of the Locust United Methodist Church and Charlton Ashton Rebekah Lodge No. 112.
Born on Sept. 19, 1928, in Fleming County, she was the daughter of the late Thelma Gullett and Warren Rogers.
Surviving are her husband, Gilby Crawford; one stepdaughter, Becky (Bill) Perkins of Flemingsburg; one grandson, Andrew Perkins of Flemingsburg; her namesake, Rae Jean Jessee of Fleming County; a half sister, Clara McKee of Colorado; and several cousins.
Funeral services were conducted June 9 at Denton-Workman Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Wasson and Bro. Parkey Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Fleming County Cemetery.
Edgar H. Davenport
Edgar H. Davenport, 84, of Milford, Ohio, passed away June 8, 2006.
Mr. Davenport served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater as a member of the 411th Gun Battalion Association in World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Geraldine Thomas Davenport; one son, Ricky (Debbie) Davenport of Nicholasville; one daughter, Sharon (Michael) Conley of Union Township, Ohio; one brother, Neal Davenport of Flemingsburg; and three grandchildren, Sarah Hodges, Susan Conley and Rebecca Davenport.
Preceding him in death were Aice, Kenneth and Rebecca Davenport.
Funeral services were conducted June 12 at the Craver-Riggs Funeral Home in Milford, Ohio.
Graveside services were held in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories Cemetery in Maysville. Memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice or Glen Este Church of Christ.
William Roy Fuller
William Roy Fuller, 86, of Cynthiana, passed away June 9, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Fuller was a retired farmer and owner of Fuller Dairy and Supply in Flemingsburg.
Born Feb. 28, 1920, he was the son of the late George Hanson and Ida Franklin Fuller.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Jenkins Fuller; two sons, Larry K. (Joyce) Fuller of Harrison County and William D. (Caroline) Fuller of Texas; three daughters, Gayle (Jeryl) Whitson of Harrison County, Martha (David) Wilkirson of Lexington and Beverly (Tom) Lathem of Bracken County; one brother, Earl Fuller of Cynthiana; three sisters, Pearl Stewart of Covington and Ethel Ecklar and Louise Faulkner, both of Cynthiana; 14 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted June 12 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold Kiser and Rev. Larry L. Jones officiating. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
