Luther Earl Lee Smith, 85, of Cherry Grove Road, Flemingsburg, passed away Nov. 27, 2005, at his home.
Mr. Smith was a landowner and farmer.
Born in Bath County on Sept. 3, 1920, he was the son of the late John Will and Pearl Lee Tulley Smith.
Surviving are five nieces, Betty (Forrest) Cooper, Gladys (Danny) Wagel and Wanda (Harold) Tucker, all of Maysville, Caroline (Ed) Dearing of New Caney, Texas and Jo Ann (Bobby) Gill of Dover; and three nephews, Jesse (Brenda) Smith of Sherburne, Larry (Linda) Smith of Carlisle and Ronnie Ray Smith of Maysville.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Nellie Howard and Josie Smith; one brother, Oscar Byron Smith; and two nephews, John Albert Smith and Terry Smith.
Funeral services were conducted Nov. 30 at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Cox officiating. Burial was in Longview Cemetery in Bethel.
Harding Thomas
Harding Thomas, 85, of Maysville, passed away Nov. 30, 2005, at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the widower of Norma Dickson Thomas who died in 1998.
Mr. Thomas retired after 19 years at Emerson Power Transmission. Prior to EPT, he worked for Wald Manu-facturing Company for 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Born in Fleming County on July 10, 1920, he was the son of the late W.N. and Elsie Hinton Thomas.
Surviving are his son, Elsworth (Patty) Thomas Jr. of Maysville; three granddaughters, Sherry T. (Paul) Earhart of Maysville, Cynthia K. (Shane) Rogers of Hebron and Kimberly Ann (Eric) Dykes of Louisville; and three great-grandchildren, Megan and Amanda Earhart and Nicholas Rogers.
Preceding him in death were five brothers, Hinton, Herb, James, Howard and Adrian Thomas.
Funeral services were conducted Dec. 2 at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Allen and the Rev. Ray Ripatoe officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope.
Emma Jean Bryant
Emma Jean Bryant, 73, of Flemingsburg, passed away Dec. 27, 2005, at Fleming County Hospital.
Mrs. Bryant formerly worked at the Bluegrass Army Depot and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Born in Paducah on Oct. 6, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Lillian May Wilson Sanders.
Surviving are two daughters, Pam Bryant of Flemingsburg and Tracy Perkinson of Madison, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted Dec. 31 at Fleming County Cemetery with Brother Brooks Karrick officiating. Military rites were conducted by the American Legion Post and V.F.W. Post of Flemingsburg. Boone-Nickell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Donald Gregg Harrison
Donald Gregg Harrison, a native of Meridian, Miss. and a resident of Jesup, Ga., passed away in Hillsboro, Ky., on Dec. 19, 2005.
Surviving are his wife Debbie C. Harrison; two sons, John Rex Harrison and Travis Ray Harrison, all of Jesup; his mother, Anne Harrison Petty of Atmore, Ala.; and his father Don R. Harrison of Fairhope, Ala.
Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Anne Harrison Petty Scholarship Fund, University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL 36688 or a charity of choice.
