Michael Davis Ritchie, 35, of Pendleton County and formerly of Robertson County, passed away May 29, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Ritchie was a Pecco Trucking employee.
Born in Mason County on Sept. 2, 1970, he was the son of Mary Louise Wilson Ritchie of Bracken County and the late Roy S. Ritchie.
Also surviving are his fiancé, Sharon Partin of Pendleton County; three sons, Michael Ritchie and Jacob Ritchie, both of Falmouth, and Robert Ritchie of Fleming County; four brothers, Dwayne A. (Carla) Ritchie and Earl Ritchie, both of Robertson County, and Roger D. Ritchie and Roy (Vickie) Ritchie, both of Bracken County; two sisters, Kimberly Thompson of Maysville and Beverly (Jack) McEldowney of Vanceburg; three nieces, Tracey Thompson, Shasta Ritchie and Rebekka Ritchie; two nephews, Chris McEldowney and Kelly Thompson; and a great- niece, Lauren McEldowney.
Also preceding him in death was a halfbrother, Roy S. Ritchie.
Funeral services were conducted June 1 at the Robertson County Funeral Home by Bro. Dee Whitaker. Burial was in the Kentontown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael Ritchie Memorial Fund in care of Pendleton Savings and Loan, 1057 Ridgeway Ave., Falmouth, KY 41040.
Barbara H. Walton
Barbara H. Walton of Elizaville Road, Flemingsburg, passed away May 31, 2006, at Fleming County Hospital following a long illness.
Born on Feb. 4, 1937, in Winchester, Mrs. Walton was a native of Bath County. She attended Centre College and graduated with honors from Morehead State University. She was a teacher at Ewing Elementary and Fleming County High School. A co-founder and co-owner of Pioneer Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Flemingsburg, she also served as the social services director and retired as administrator of the facility.
Surviving are her husband of over 50 years, William T. Walton; a son, District Judge Todd Walton and daughter-in-law Robin James Walton; three grandsons, Jason T. Walton, Travis C. Walton and J. Matthew Walton; two brothers, John J. (Nancy) Hutchinson of Owingsville and Dr. Robert C. Hutchinson of Sarasota, Fla.; and a niece, Julia Elizabeth Hutchinson of Owingsville.
Preceding her in death were a son, Leslie S. Walton; and her parents, James M. Hutchinson and Lillie Shrout Hutchinson.
Funeral services were conducted June 3 at Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Burial was in the Hillsboro Cemetery with Rev. Norman Wasson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Flemingsburg Christian Church or the Owingsville Christian Church.
B. Franklin Hall
B. Franklin Hall, 83, formerly of Flemingsburg, passed away as a result of congestive heart failure on Feb. 15, 2006, in West Chester, Pa., where he was living with his daughter, Scarlett.
Dr. Hall received his medical degree from the University of Louisville in 1951. Following his internship, he was a family practitioner in Paris for several years before receiving his Masters degree from the University of Michigan in 1960 in public health administration. He then began his specialty in public health and preventive medicine and worked as a health officer for 27 years on city, county and state levels. He retired in 1982 from his position as first deputy commissioner of health for Westchester County Health Department in White Plains, N.Y. He moved to Boynton Beach, Fla. and lived there until September 2005 when he moved in with his daughter. He spent his retirement years volunteering, writing a novel, traveling around the world and ballroom dancing.
He was the youngest son of Dr. and Mrs. John F. Hall and the brother of Dr. John Lovell Hall and Glennon Hall, all deceased.
He is survived by his two daughters, Elaine Page and Scarlett; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews including Johnny Hall, Nancybelle Farley, Phyllis Hurd and Connie Williams.
His wife Elaine died in 2003.
A memorial service will be held at the Fleming County Cemetery at 11 a.m. on June 10.
William Bruce Buckler
William Bruce Buckler, 29 of Carlisle, passed away May 28, 2006.
Born April 3, 1977 in Harrison County, he was the son of Matthew Dean Buckler of Paris and Darlene Bach Walker of Carlisle.
Also surviving are his stepfather, Wiley Walker of Carlisle; a maternal grandmother, Mary Bach of Carlisle; a paternal grandmother, Jewell Davis, of Carlisle; two sisters, Kim Buckler of Cynthiana and Renee Snapp of Carlisle; one brother, Willie Walker of Carlisle; two nephews, James Riley and John-David Mola; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death were a grandfather, William Bruce Buckler; a stepgrandfather, Wayne Davis; a grandfather, Jess Bach; an uncle, Jess T. Bach Jr.; and a stepmother, Billie Buckler.
Funeral services were conducted May 31 at the Clark Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Earwood officiating; burial was in the Carlisle Cemetery.
