Clyde Earl Thomas, 82, passed away June 26, 2006, at his residence on Ewing Road in Ewing.
After graduating from Fleming County High School in 1942, Mr. Thomas served three years in the United States Marines, serving in the Pacific. He was a member of the Ewing Baptist Church and served as chairman of the board of the Western Fleming County Water District.
Born March 20, 1924, he was the son of Walter Wesley and Lillian Ramey Thomas of Ewing.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Josephine (Jo) Holbrook Thomas; one daughter, Deborah Thomas of Morehead; one son, Mark (Melinda) Thomas of Eliz-aville; three grandchildren, Gena Barbee of Morehead, Chaeli (Steven) Glass of Nashville, Tenn., and Eli Wesley Thomas of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Frances Myers of Eugene, Ore; and four great-grandchildren, Dalton, Jerica, Michaela and Quentin Barbee;
His stepchildren include Jacqueline (Robert) Schwartz of Nicholasville; Larry Grannis (Julia Karnes) of Lexington; Susan (Kendall) Hart of Lexington; Dennis (Jackie) Grannis-Phoenix of Warren, Maine; Jill (Jim) Baker of Bland, Va.; and Kelly (Melinda) Grannis of Flemingsburg. His stepgrandchildren are Kris and Kyle Dryden, Reynolds and Travis Hart, Jack Henry and Finn Phoenix, Seth and Adam Baker, and Shane and Sebastian Grannis.
Survivors also include Wally (Tammy) Thomas of Ewing, Kevin (Roberta) Thomas of Middletown, Ohio, Greg (Ruth) Thomas of McKee, Dorothy (Walter) Hammond, Brenda (Mac) Childers, Gayle (Bunk) Myers-Keggan, Laura Mae (Graydon) Forman and Sonny Bailey, as well as 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding him in death were one son, Robert Wesley (Wess) Thomas; and four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were conducted June 29 at the Ewing Christian Church. Price Brothers Funeral Home is serving the family.

Linda Sue Adkins
Linda Sue Adkins, 57, of East Water Street in Flemingsburg, passed away June 28, 2006.
Born Aug. 11, 1948, she was the daughter of John and Laverne Ellis.
Surviving are her boyfriend of 25 years, Pete McKee; three daughters, Lisa Adkins of Flemingsburg, Joyce Potts of Bethel and Patricia Williamson of West Union, Ohio; two sons, Mason Adkins of Flemingsburg and William Adkins of Manchester, Ohio; three sisters, Carol Hill, Kandy Kirby and Gloria Tenley, all of Cincinnati; and one brother, James Kirby of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted July 1 at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Snider officiating. Burial was in the Goddard Cemetery.
Robert Dale Jackson
Robert Dale Jackson, 55, of Maysville, passed away June 30, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Jackson was an employee of Browning Manufacturing where he worked for 30 years. He has also worked for the Maysville Fire Department as a first responder and the Mason County Board of Education as a substitute school bus driver. He was the president of the Buffalo Trace Firefighters Association, an affiliate of the Mason County Chiefs Association, a member of the Mason County Search and Rescue Team, a first responder for the Dover Fire Department where he was fire chief for 15 years and still served as honorary fire chief, a Level I state fire instructor, safety officer for the Washington Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Mason County Red Cross Disaster Relief Team, a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Maysville and a Kentucky Colonel.
Born Dec. 17, 1950, in Fleming County, he was the son of the late Robert Howe Jackson and Ruby Colville Jackson Hill.
Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Saundra Fryman Jackson; six daughters, Carol (David) Craycraft, Michelle (Timmy) Saunders and Kristal Gilbert Laasko, all of Maysville, Devin Jackson Thomas of Ripley, Ashley (Dustin) Wilson of Lewis County and Katelyn L. Jackson, at home; one son, Austin B. Jackson, also at home; a special friend, Staci G. Chamberlain; three brothers, Donnie (Lily) Jackson of Peru, Ind., James (Becky) Jackson of Athen, Texas, and Gary (Bernice) Jackson of Maysville; four sisters, Lucy (Kenny) Boling of Perio, Ill., Barbara Jean (Hartly) Hunt of Ewing, Linda Golf of Williamsport, Penn., and Mary Ann (James) Morgan of Maysville; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was one sister, Sandra Jackson.
Funeral services were conducted at Brell and Son Funeral Home on July 4 with Bro. Jim Rawlings and Bro. Tony Cox officiating. Burial was in Charleston Bottoms Cemetery.
Beatrice Doyle Ritchie
Beatrice Doyle Ritchie, 68, passed away June 30, 2006, at the Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mt. Olivet.
Born in Fleming County on Aug. 28, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Nola Kaiser Doyle.
Mrs. Ritchie was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Stirl Ritchie; two sons, Mike (Nena) Ritchie of Lexington and Jerry Ritchie of Harrison County; five brothers, Theodore Doyle of Winchester and Luther Doyle Jr., Hobert Doyle, Ronald Doyle and Marion Doyle, all of Fleming County; one sister, Stella Boling of Fleming County; a grandson, Nathan Michael Ritchie and a stepgranddaughter, Dhianna Burks.
Funeral services were conducted July 3 at Ware Funeral Home by Bro. Wayne Tolson with burial in the Wallingford Cemetery.
