Lorene L. Flora, 92, of East Main Street in Flemingsburg, passed away June 15, 2006. She was the widow of Paul Flora who died in 1963.
Born in Rowan County on April 23, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Amanda Wagoner Littleton.
Surviving are one daughter, Paulette (Donnie) Kerns of Flemingsburg; two sons, Eddie (Linda) Flora of Ithaca, Mich., and Bill Ware of Fortville, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a daughter, Mary Sue Flora.
Funeral services were conducted June 17 at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Rev. Chris Beckham officiating. Burial was in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel.
Colgan
Mrs. Pauline J. Colgan, 79, a resident of Pioneer Trace Nursing Home died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006.
Mrs. Colgan was an accountant and a member of the Unity Baptist Church.
She was born in Akron, Ohio on Sept. 10, 1927, to the late Ike and Belle Mullins Royse.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Maurice Colgan of Flemingsburg; one daughter, Carolyn Wagner of Marion, Ohio; three sisters, Marie Riley of Flemingsburg, June Mower of St. Louis, Mo., and Carol Good of California; two brothers, Chester Royse of Cincinnati, and Bobby Royse of Fairmont, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sterling and Glenn Royse.
Services were Monday at the Unity Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Walton officiating.
Burial followed in the Fleming County Cemetery.
Carpenter
Edgar Carpenter, 89, of Foxport, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at Fleming County Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Naomia Frances Wagner Carpenter; a daughter, Mona (Bill) Beckett of Fleming County; and two sons, Eric (Aileene) Carpenter of Fleming County and Melvin (Brenda) Carpenter of Mason County.
Gardner
Archie Carl Gardner, 76, died Dec. 8, 2006 at his residence in Wallingford.
He was born March 22, 1930, the son of the late Chester and Mary Kate Hickerson Gardner.
Mr. Gardner was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Gem Carpenter Gardner; two sons, Jerry (Elaine) Gardner and Morris (Sherry) Gardner, both of Fleming County; and a daughter, Donna Gardner of Flemingsburg. He is also survived by a sister, Dora Ellen (Phillip) Sparks of Fleming County; grandchildren, Michael Gardner, Kristy Gardner and Allison Gardner; great-grandchild, Amayah Gardner; and sister-in-law, Geneva Gardner of Connorsville, Ga.
Services for Mr. Gardner were at 1 p.m., Tuesday Dec. 12, at Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg officiated by Bro. James Hickerson and Bro. Vernon Gross.
Interment was be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
