Ms. Linda Kay Stepp, 48, Pioneer Trace Nursing Home, passed away Nov. 30, 2006 at Fleming County Hospital.
She was born Oct. 6, 1958 in Mingo County, W.Va. Her parents are Dewey and Anna Meddings Stepp.
Survivors are two sons, Jason and Carl Coons of Cleveland, Ohio; and friends, Charles Craig of Maysville and Eddie and Jacklyn Jones of Lewisburg.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home in Flemingsburg.
Burial was in the Fleming County Cemetery.
Zelik
Jennie Mitchell Zelik, 81, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2.
Jennie was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Nepton, the daughter of Cyla and Ethel Mitchell. She was an avid Bridge player. All who knew her enjoyed her spirit of gentle kindness.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Yvette) Zelik, Jennifer Wellinghoff,, Danial Zelik, Randall (Tamae) Zelik, and Janine (Timothy) McQuillan; a sister, Mae Ruth Jones; grandchildren Amy, Steve, Jr., Gregory, Jeanine, Christopher, Lyndsey, Casey, Jonathon, Kelli and Sean; and great-grandchildren Brock, Blake, Braydon, Taylor, Grayson, Katie, and Cielion.
Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, Dec. 6, at St. Leonard’s Main Street Chapel, Centervill;e, Ohio. Burial was in the Elizaville Cemetery with Price Brothers in charge of local arrangements.
Noel B. Smoot
Noel B. Smoot, 80, of Manchester, Ohio, formerly of Aberdeen, died Saturday, Nov. 18 at Adams County Hospital in West Union, Ohio. He was born June 26, 1926 in Ringos Mills and was the son of the late Sinclair and Glenna Christine (Barber) Smoot.
He is survived by three daughters: Linda Jenkins and Nola K. Dugan (Bill) Berry all of Aberdeen and Patricia Gilbert-Simpson of Lexington; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and sp
ecial friend, Margaret Dunn of Maysville.
Mr. Smoot retired from Browning Manufacturing Company in Maysville after 35 years of service. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1124 and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1564 both in Maysville. He attended Wesleyan Church in Maysville.
Mr. Smoot requested his body be cremated.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro at a later date. Rev. James Fleming will officiate.
Arrangements are by Lafferty Funeral Home, Inc. in West Union.
Clyda Mae Crawford Bretz
Clyda Mae Crawford Bretz, 96, widow of Arthur Bretz & Mason Crawford, died Sunday, October 19 at St. Joseph Hospital-East.
She was born February 12, 1910 in Nicholas Co. to the late Bruce and Laura Cameron Crawford and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of God.
Survivors include 3 sons, Gilby Crawford, Flemingsburg, Tommy Crawford& Darrell Faulconer, Carlisle, 3 daughters, Hattie Prather & Darlene Massaro, Lexington & Peggy Sharon, Carlisle, a step-daughter, Ruby Letcher, Carlisle, 22 grandchildren, and several great & great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Eula Mitchell, 2 step-sons, Herman & Chester Bretz and a daughter-in-law, Jean Crawford.
