Jason Kendall Ray, age 21, of Concord, N.C., passed away Monday, March 26, 2007.
Mr. Ray was a student at UNC at Chapel Hill, N. C.
He was born Oct. 7, 1983, in Charlotte, N.C. His parents are Emmitt and Charlotte Crain Ray. Charlotte’s parents were the late Nick and Pauline Crain.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Mary T. Ray of Clewiston, Fla.; and three brothers, Tim Porter of Lexington, John Porter of Concord and Allen Ray of Denver, Colo.
Services were Saturday at the First Assembly Worship Center.
Graveside rites were 1 p.m., Tuesday at the Elizaville Cemetery.

Mrs. Walters
Mrs. Frances Ann Walters, 65, of Flemingsburg, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the Fleming County Hospital.
Mrs. Walters was a purchasing agent for a military contractor.
She was born in Leavenworth, Kan., June 13, 1941, a daughter of the late Hugh Francis and Clarine R. Reagan.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest C. Walters; a daughter, Kathryn Walters of Long Beach, Calif.; a son, Vincent Walters of Cyprus, Calif.; two sisters, Carol Sola of Fontana, Calif. and Sharon Stinley of Longbeach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Henson.
Services were Monday at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Beckham officiating.
Mr. Dorsey
Noel Louis Dorsey, 81, died Friday, March 23, 2007, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born in Fleming County, Nov. 4, 1925, to the late Alban and Lela Gordon Robertson Dorsey.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Pardo Dorsey.
Also surviving are two daughters, Marian (James) Willard of Lexington, and Jean (Given) Harper of Normal, Ill.; a son, Lyle (Ann) Dorsey of Flemingsburg; grandchildren, Katherine and Nicholas Willard, Russell and Laura Dorsey and Noelle and Andrew Harper.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Russell, Leroy, Alban Jr. and Eugene Dorsey; and sisters, Frances Dorsey, Mildred Dorsey, Elizabeth Denton and Margaret Sunderman.
Mr. Dorsey was a retired farmer, he also had worked on the tobacco market in Maysville and at Spencer Electric in Flemingsburg. He was a United States World War II veteran and an active member in the Flemingsburg Christian Church where he had served as an elder for 19 years, chairman of the property and worship committees, and Sunday school superintendent.
He was devoted to his family, his church and had a deep love for nature and the land he farmed.
Services were 11 a.m., Monday at the Flemingsburg Christian Church. The Rev. Norman Wasson and Rev. Carl Hamm will officiate.

Mrs. Helphenstine
Redia F. Helphenstine, 80, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday morning at Fleming County Hospital.
She was the widow of Jesse D. Helphenstine.
Mrs. Helphenstine was born Nov. 21, 1936 in Fleming County, the daughter of the late Jessie R. and Mary Smalley Gulley.
Survivors include a special niece, Peggy (Don) Miller of Flemingsburg; two sisters, Alene Sellers of Flemingsburg and Nina Hopper of Flemingsburg; four brothers, Tracy Gulley of Oklahoma, Tommy Gulley of Flemingsburg, Paul Gulley of Muncie, Ind., and Billy Gulley of Flemingsburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceeded n death by sisters Elma Muse, Naomi Beckett, Edna B. Rice, Mayme Swim, Flora Rice, and Fredia Hilterbrand and a brother, Elmer Gulley.
Services were Tuesday at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Hickerson officiating.
Burial followed in the Wallingford Cemetery.
