Darvin Gibson, 53, of Kite, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, following an extended illness.
Born on October 11, 1946, in Kite, he was the son of Willis and Allie Hall Gibson of Kite. He was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Gibson.
Other survivors include five sons, Earl Sizemore, Roy Sizemore, Billy Sizemore, Bobby Sizemore, Jonathan Wooten, all of Perry County; three daughters, Kathleen Triplett, Nola Deaton of Chavies, Mary Summer of Perry County; two brothers, Marvin Gibson of Brunswick, Ohio, Randy Gibson of Pinetop; four sisters, Anna Layne of Cave Run, Emilee Keeton of Nancy, Novella Ford of Nicholasville, Lois Gibson of Kite; and 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 30, 10 a.m., at the Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church, at Kite, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Strange Cemetery, at Kite, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Ralph D. Spencer
Ralph D. Spencer, 85, of Eastern, Ky., husband of Eugenia “Jean” Marie Homer Spencer, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2001, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, Ky.
Born April 20, 1916, at Floyd County, Ky., he was the son of the late A.L. and Kate Turner Spencer. He was a retired meter operator for Columbia Gas Company, and was a member of the First Assembly of God, Martin, Ky.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Ralph O. Spencer of Pikeville, Ky.; one daughter, Gloria Allen of Freeport, Oh.; two brothers, French Spencer of Vermillion, Oh., and Alex Spencer of Van Lear, Ky.; two sisters, Nancy Bailey of Langley, Ky., Agnes Dilling of Southgate, Ky.; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Hewen Spencer, and one sister, Marie Hayes.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Sunday, July 1, 2001, 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with Lori Vannucci officiating.
Burial will follow in the Spencer Family Cemetery, at Eastern, Ky., under the care of Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Visitation is after 6:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Carolyn Sue Carroll
Carolyn Sue Carroll, 49, of Printer, Ky., died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at her residence, following a sudden illness.
Born on January 1, 1952, at Martin, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Sammy and Ella Miller Robinson. She was a disabled Ward Clerk for Our Lady of the Way Hospital, Martin, Ky., and a member of Trinity Chapel at Martin, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne Carroll.
Survivors include four brothers, Sam Randall Robinson of Prestonsburg, Ky., Kenneth Robinson of Martin, Ky., Paul Donald Robinson, of Topmost, Ky., and Gary Wayne Robinson, of Printer, Ky; one sister, Shelby Shrewsberry of Printer, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 29, 2001, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Denver Meade and Ellis Stevens officiating.
Burial will be in the Meade Cemetery, Printer, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Visitation is at the funeral home.
Milton Trusty Jr.
Milton Trusty Jr., 76, of Garrett, Ky., died Saturday, August 25, 2001, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Born on September 11, 1924, in Hellier, Pike County, Ky., he was the son of the late Richard Trusty and Rissie Deskins Trusty.
He was a disabled coal miner, a member of James W. Alley Masonic Lodge at Wayland, a Shriner, and a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by his wife, Olga Hicks Trusty.
Other survivors include one son, John Richard Trusty of East Point, Ky.; one daughter, Deborah Rumble of Florence, Ky.; one brother, Gary Trusty of Kingsport, Tenn.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 27, 2001, at 11 a.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Glennis Warrens and Raymond Lawson officiating.
Burial was in the Allen Cemetery, Eastern, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Nathan Bates, John David Trusty, David Sloan, Beto Garcia, Ray Deffrey, and Ron Bates.
Honorary pallbearers: Mike Fitzpatrick, Buck Martin, Ron Lawson, Tom Lemaster, Frankie Francis, Winchester Francis, Jimmy Wise, and Dr. Ira Potter.

Dorothy M. “Dot” Tiner
Dorothy M. “Dot” Tiner, age 77, of Printer, Ky., formerly of South Carolina, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2001, at the Riverview Nursing Home, Prestonsburg, Ky.
She was born November 3, 1923, in Bamberg, S.C., the daughter of the late William P. McMillan and Alberta Kearse McMillan. She was a registered nurse and operating room supervisor at McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Survivors include one daughter, Sally Utsey and her husband, Frank, of Lakeland Fl.; three sisters, Carolyn M. Worrix of Allen, Ky., June Kearse of Fairfax, S.C., Margaret Hiers of Ehrhardt S.C.; one granddaughter, Lori Heather Gay and her husband, Scott, of Ponte Vedra, Fl.; and a special friend, Maryland Conn Jr., of Martin, Ky.
Funeral services for Dorothy Tiner were conducted Sunday, October 28, 2001, at 2:00 p.m., at the Christ United Methodist Church, Allen, Ky., with Clergymen Ken LeMaster and Arnold Turner Jr., officiating.
Burial followed in the Bamberg Memory Garden, Bamberg, S.C., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Visitation was Saturday, at the funeral home, and after 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at the church.
Pallbearers: Wayne Worrix, Scott Gay, Robert Peek, Randy Stumbo, and Arthur Dingus.
Scott George Frasure
Scott George Frasure, 77, of Abbott, Prestonsburg, Ky., died Monday, October 29, 2001, following an extended illness.
Born on January 29, 1924, at Myrtle, Ky., he was the son of the late R.E. Frasure and Clara Stanley Frasure. He was a retired truck driver and U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Neeley Frasure.
Other survivors include three sons, Billy E. Frasure of Abbott, Prestonsburg, Ky., Scott Douglas Frasure of Bonanza, Ky., Gary Frasure of Lexington, Ky.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer Frasure, Earl Frasure, Hershel Frasure, Herbert Frasure; and one sister, Helen Laverne Frasure.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 1, 2001, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Dave Garrett and Don Neeley officiating.
Burial will be in the Frasure Family Cemetery, Abbott, Prestonsburg, Ky.
Pallbearers are Scott D. Frasure, Billy E. Frasure, Gary L. Frasure, Gerald V. Frasure, Christopher D. Frasure, Billy O’Bryan Frasure, Manis Prater, and Dustin Allen Crisp.

Betty Jean Kidd Hall
Betty Jean Kidd Hall, 47, of Elliott County, formerly of Craynor, Ky., died Sunday, October 28, 2001, following an extended illness.
Born on November 9, 1953, at Harold, Ky., she was the daughter of Edward Kidd of Harold, Ky., and the late Doris Ousnamer Kidd.
She is survived by her husband, Sie Hall.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church at Sandy Hook, Ky.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Tackett of Craynor, Ky., Dinah Jo Akers of Grethel, Ky.; four brothers, John Kidd, George Kidd, Charles Kidd, and Harold Kidd, all of Harold, Ky.; three sisters, Carol Reynolds of Craynor, Ky., Leah Adams and Brenda Hall, both of Harold, Ky.; and four grandchildren, Ambrianna Tackett, Scott Dustin Tackett, Silas Benjamin Akers and Sarah Elisbeth Akers.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Randy Joe Kidd.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 30, 2001, at 11 a.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Enterprise Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial was in the Family Cemetery, Craynor, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
