Elder John C. Frazier, 80, of Price, died Friday, August 30, 2002, at the East Kentucky Veterans Center, Hazard, following an extended illness.
Born on November 20, 1921, at Gearheart, he was the son of the late Lowery C. and Bertha Moore Frazier. He was a retired teacher of the Floyd County School System; and an elder and member of Little Nancy Old Regular Baptist Church at Hi Hat.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Hall Frazier.
Other survivors include two sons, John Gregory (Debbie) Frazier of Lexington, North Carolina, and Jeffry (Yvonne) Frazier of Roanoke, Virginia; six brothers, Wallace E. (Marie) Frazier of Live Oak, Florida, James (Irene) Frazier of Ramsure, North Carolina, Glenn O. (Eula) Frazier, Roy D. (Debbie) Frazier, Breck Frazier; and Douglas (Pam) Frazier, all of Price; one sister, Roberta (Hugh) Fugate of Price; five grandchildren, Lorhn, Becca, Beth, Jodi and Lesli; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Luther Glenn Frazier.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 2, at 11 a.m., at the Little Nancy Old Regular Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Frazier Family Cemetery, at Price, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Visitation was at the Little Nancy Old Regular Baptist Church.
Everett Hampton “Buster” Richmond Jr.
Everett Hampton “Buster” Richmond Jr., age 85, of Langley, husband of Olga Bolen Richmond, passed away Friday, August 30, 2002, at the Prestonsburg Health Care, Prestonsburg.
He was born July 7, 1917, in Garrett, the son of the late Everett Hampton Richmond Sr., and Grace Wolfe Richmond. He was self-employed, a member of the Montgomery Baptist Church, at Carrie, and Zebulon Masonic Lodge, No. 273, Prestonsburg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Steven Brian Richmond of Lexington; one daughter, Linda Kay Richmond Salisbury, (Bill) of Langley; one daughter-in-law, Donna Richmond of Vienna, Ohio, and four grandchildren, William Salisbury, Jonathan Salisbury, Lance Richmond and Kaitylyn Richmond.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Joseph Richmond.
Funeral services for Everett Hampton Richmond Jr., were conducted Sunday, September 1, at 2 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the clergymen, Archie Everage, Ricky Smith and Thomas Caudill, officiating.
Burial was in the Johnson Cemetery, Hueysville, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Bill May, Joe Hofefich, Michael Hofefich, Jeff Hofefich, Tim Caudill, William Salisbury, Johnathan Salisbury, Bill Turner, and Herman Vanderpool.

Minerva Vance
Minerva Vance, 83, of Beaver, died Thursday, August 29, 2002, at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
Born April 28, 1919, in Laurel Springs, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Martha Garell Osborne. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy of Ligon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Vance.
Survivors include two sons, William Dewey Vance of McDowell, and Michael Ray Vance of Beaver; six daughters, Lorraine Hall of McDowell, Ruth Grottle of Lebanon, Ohio, Earnesteene Kendrick of Warren, Michigan, Patricia Gail Slone of Beaver, Gerema Kinney of Westland, Michigan, and Greta Lynn Fife of Dayton, Tennessee; 28 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Gene Vance; one daughter, Lucille Vance; two brothers, John Dewey Osborne and William Davis Osborne; two sisters, Plear Matthews and Roetta Crouse; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 1, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Bill Slone, Glenn Ball, Ralph Hall, and Jimmy Hall officiating.
Burial was in the Vance Cemetery at Beaver, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
Bryant Lee Garrett
Bryant Lee Garrett, 40, of Imperial Avenue, Lexington, died Saturday, August 31, 2002, at his residence.
Born in Prestonsburg, he was the son of Ima Jean McCoy Garrett, of Lexington, and the late Chester Garrett. He was a former employee of Hunter Manufacturing Company.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Brandon Hicks Garrett of Prestonsburg; four sisters, Charlene Ousley, and Paulette White, both of Prestonsburg, Linda Curnutt of London, and Tammy Garrett of Lexington; 11 nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Garrett, and a sister, Glenda Ousley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Wednes-day, September 4, at the W.R. Milward Mortuary, 159 North Broadway, Lexington, with Brother David McCracken officiating.
Burial will be at 3 p.m., in the Ousley-Garrett Cemetery in Prestonsburg.
Casketbearers will be Bob Johnson, Michael Ousley, Jimmy Dye, Zachary McCoy, A.J. McCoy, and T.J. McCoy.
Eda Miranda Hill Goble
Eda Miranda Hill Goble, age 81, of Prestonsburg, formerly of Garrett, widow of George Amos Goble, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2002, at her residence.
She was born June 8, 1921, in Martin County, the daughter of the late Bernard Hill and Ida Margaret Harless Hill.
Survivors include one son, Montaine Goble, (Dorothy), of Ypsilanti, Michigan; five daughters, Yvonne Dingus (Paul), and Betty Jean Allen (Walter), both of Columbus, Ohio, Laura Margaret Duff (Roger) of Timberville, Virginia, Judy F. Goble (Micheal) of Prestonsburg, and Brenda Lee Turner (Lee) of Garrett; one brother, Byrd Hill (Norma) of Paintsville; a sister-in-law, Minzie Hill; three sisters, Nanny Burchett (Ed) of Lexington, Hester Goble (Abel) of Prestonsburg, Dorothy Rowe (Walter) of Dayton, Ohio; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 3, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the clergyman, Joe Hill, officiating.
Burial was in the Goble Cemetery, Prestonsburg, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.

George D. Tackett
George D. Tackett, 62, of Beaver, died Wednesday, August 28, 2002, at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born on December 26, 1939, at Beaver, he was the son of the late Thomas and Fannie Hall Tackett. He was a disabled coal miner and a veteran of the Army.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Flanary Tackett of Beaver.
Other survivors include one son, Scott Tackett and wife, Tammy, of Craynor; two brothers, Clifford Tackett and Hatler Tackett, both of Beaver; three sisters, Carolyn Newsome of Beaver, Lacie Teems and Mary Belle Hall, both of Ellijay, Georgia, and two grandchildren, Amby and Dustin Tackett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Marsha Tackett; five brothers, Thomas Tackett Jr., Andy Jack Tackett, Amos Tackett, Willie Tackett and Henry Tackett; and four sisters, Barbara Caudill, Vernia Paige, Roberta Tackett and Wanda Tackett.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 31, at 11 a.m., at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel, under direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Genevie Daniels
Genevie Daniels, age 71, of Stephens Branch, Martin, wife of Arnold Daniels, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2002, at her residence in Martin.
She was born July 16, 1931, in McDowell, the daughter of the late King Jones and Molly Tackett Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Little Rosa Church of the New Salem Association of the Old Regular Baptist Church for 35 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Arnold Dean Daniels of Eastern; two daughters, Linda Sue Caudill of Estill, and Brenda Gail Huffman of Prestonsburg; five grandchildren, Sarah Genevie Jent, Teresa Ann Ramey, Danielle Dawn Slone, Logan Darrell Shepherd, and Kristen Nicole Daniels; and six great-grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Paige, Victoria Lyn Jent, Justin Lee Jent, Cody Blake Ramey, Casey Brandon Ramey, and Kayleigh Dawn Slone.
Funeral services for Genevie Daniels will be conducted Friday, August 30, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, with the Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery, Martin, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.

Charles Edward Hall Sr.
Charles Edward Hall Sr., 60, of Huntington, Indiana, formerly of Floyd County, died Monday, August 26, 2002, at Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, following an extended illness.
Born on July 8, 1942, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Ballard and Clercy Hall. He was a disabled factory worker, and a member of the Church of Christ in Huntington, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hall.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Hall Jr. and wife, Jill, and Bobby Joe Hall and wife, Charlene, both of Huntington, Indiana; two daughters, Charlene Sue Poe and husband, Steven, of Huntington, Indiana; and Cheryl Smith and husband, Randall, of Van Buren, Indiana; one brother, Ted Hall of Huntington, Indiana; five sisters, Susanna Johnson of Huntington, Indiana, Ora Tackett and Ersey Williams, both of Bevinsville, Mary Branham of McDowell, and Maggie Slone of Helmer, Indiana, and 10 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur Hall, Will Hall, Banks Hall, and Donald Hall; and two sisters, Madgie Hall and Margie Hall.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 29, 11 a.m., at the Little Rock Old Regular Baptist Church in Bevinsville, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial was in the Burke Cemetery, Bevinsville, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Visitation was at the church.
