Rose M. Osborne, died on Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky., following an extended illness.
Born on January 30, in Floyd County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Northern and Nora Hall Little.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Wheelwright United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Osborne.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by one son, Gerald Osborne, of Bypro, Ky.; one daughter, Sandy Daniels, of Bypro, Ky.; two sisters, Mary Wagner, of Wheelwright, Ky., and Pam Krejci, of Nicholas-ville, Ky.; and three grandchildren, BreAnna Rae, Allison Danielle, and Brett Aaron.
She is preceded in death by two relatives, Willa Mae Little and Alpha Jean Workman.
Funeral services for Rose M. Osborne were conducted on Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at the Wheelwright United Methodist Church. Minister Bobby Isaac presided.
Burial was in the Osborne Family Cemetery, Melvin, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Edna Mae Bailey
Edna Mae Bailey, age 82, of Prater Fork, Hueysville, Ky., widow of Lacy Bailey, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2002, at her residence.
She was born June 10, 1920, in Hippo, Ky., the daughter of the late Robert “Bob” Adkins and Gracie Ratliff Adkins. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Old Regular Baptist Church, Langley, Ky.
Survivors include one daughter, Effie Lois Bond of Hueysville, Ky.; two grandchildren, Angie Diann Scott and Derek Vincent Click; one step-grandson, Peter Bond; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Click, Corey Click, Chelsea Click, Logan Scott, and MacKinzie Scott; and two step-great-grandchildren, Christopher Bond and Michael Bond.
Funeral services for Edna Mae Bailey were conducted Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with the Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial was in the Bob Adkins Family Cemetery, Hueysville, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Derek Click, Corey Click, Brandon Click, Logan Scott, Ralph Scott Jr., and Mike Bond.
John B. Craft
John B. Craft, age 87, of Hueysville, Ky., passed away Friday, July 5, 2002, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, Ky.
He was born July 9, 1914, in Hueysville, Ky., the son of the late C.C. Craft and Luna Hayes Craft. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Hueysville Church of Christ.
Survivors include one brother, Glen H. Craft of Louisville, Ky., and one sister, Gracie Whitt of Wurtland, Ky.
Funeral services for John B. Craft were conducted Sunday, July 7, 2002, at 4 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with Clergyman Chester Varney officiating.
Burial was in the Hayes Cemetery, Hueysville, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation was after 11 a.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Flem Wesley (Bud) Burchett
Flem Wesley (Bud) Burchett, 73, of Maple Heights, Ohio, formerly of Prestonsburg, died June 5 following a battle with lung cancer.
Born Oct. 16, 1928, to John S. and Virginia (Harvel) Burchett at Endicott, Bud grew up in the Cow Creek area. Bud married
Joann Kendrick on January 2, 1948, and they had two children, Donald Ray and Norma Sue.
Bud began to work for Ford Motor Co. in 1956, and worked for 41 years, retiring in November of 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia (Harvel) Burchett; son, Donald Ray; and sisters Pauline and Josephine.
Bud is survived by Joann, his wife of 54 years; daughter, Norma Sue (Bart) Adkins, of Ohio; grandchidren, Bart Jr. (Kathy), Amy (Jim) Matthews, and Debbie (Bob) Collins, all of Ohio. There are three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Damon, and Eric Adkins. He is also survived by siblings, Walter, Millard, Jack, and Lucille, of Indiana; and Pearl, of Ohio.
Services were held June 10, at Kindrich McHugh Funeral Home in Solon and Bud was laid to rest at Restland Cemetery in Bainbridge Twp., Ohio
Keniss Ervin Tackett
Keniss Ervin Tackett, age 59, of Harold, Kentucky, died on June 30, 2002, following a sudden illness. Born on September 14, 1942, in Pike County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Grady and Virginia Younce Tackett.
He was a retired CSX employee.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Wyatt Tackett. Also surviving are one son, Timothy Tackett, and one daughter, Patricia Hunter, both of Harold, Kentucky. Other survivors include: three brothers, Ernie Tackett, of Port Deposit, Maryland, Michael Tackett, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Harold Tackett, of Elkton, Maryland; one sister, Evalene Barr, of Rising Sun, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Dalton Jacob Tackett and Bradyn Keith Hunter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Tackett and Charles Tackett.
Many relatives and friends mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Keniss Ervin Tackett will be held today, Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky, with Joe Slone officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stevens Cemetery, Toler Creek, Harold, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
Visitation is at the funeral home.
Ruby Hill
Ruby Hill, age 58, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at her residence. Born January 31, 1944, in Pikeville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Daniels and Ocie Thacker Daniels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Hill.
Survivors include one son, Larry Adkins (Tammy), of Ferryville, WI.; three daughters, Lavergne Adkins, of Fox Lake, IL., Lisa Rena Saul (Steven), of Buffalo Grove, IL., and Lois Banaszkiewicz, of Geno, WI.; two brothers, Larry Daniels and James C. Daniels, both of Stanville, Kentucky; one sister, Lorraine Anderson, of Pikeville, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Daniels Family Cemetery, Stanville, Kentucky, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.

Ellen Ousley
Ellen Ousley, age 81, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, died on Monday, July 1, 2002, at the Annapolis Hospital, Wayne, Michigan. Born on November 22, 1920, in Risner, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Rebecca Allen Ousley.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Cold Springs Regular Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Sue Music, Ypsilanti, MI.; two sisters, Rosie Reffitt, Martin, Ky., and Eva Prater, Vinton, OH.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The widow of Theo Ousley, she was also preceded in death by one son, Gene Randel Ousley; one brother, Andrew Jackson Ousley; and one sister, Sally Brown.
Funeral services for Ellen Ousley will be conducted on Friday, July 5, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellis Reffitt Cemetery, Martin, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.
Betty Jo Shepherd Craft
Betty Jo Shepherd Craft, 66 years of age, of Prestonsburg, Ky., was born on February 20, 1936, in Floyd County, Ky., the daughter of the late Lee and Sybel Blackburn Garrett.She was a homemaker.
She departed this life following an extended illness on Thursday, June 27, 2002, at her residence.
She is survived by one son and two daughters, Irvin Shepherd Jr., of David, Ky., Linda Grace Campbell of Prestonsburg, Ky., and Sybel Lois Shepherd of Blue River, Ky.
She was preceded in death by two sons and one brother, Denver Lee Shepherd, Arthur Jeffrey Shepherd, and Chester Garrett.
She is survived by one brother, Charles Garrett of California; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 30, 2002, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Ellis Stephens officiating.
Burial will be in the Shepherd Cemetery, David, Ky., under direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
