Revella “Ree” Stewart, age 82, of McDowell, Ky., husband of the late Christine “Black” Stewart, passed away Friday, May 10, 2002, in the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, Ky.
He was born January 14, 1920, in Ligon, Ky., the son of the late Ben Franklin Stewart and Vina Moore Stewart. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the United Mine Workers Association, and the Drift Pentecostal Church, Drift, Ky.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Delmas Stewart of McDowell, Ky., Revella Dean Stewart of Jacksonville, Fl., and Benjie Ellis Stewart of Prestonsburg, Ky.; two sisters, Bernice Gibson and Vivian Cartmell, both of McDowell, Ky., seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Revella “Ree” Stewart were conducted Monday, May 13, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with Clergymen Ted Shannon, and Arnold Turner Jr. officiating.
Burial followed in the Lucy Hall Cemetery, McDowell, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Gary Roberts, Derek May, Truman Blair, Ricky Stewart, Wally Cook, and Nathan Wright.
Jessie Fitzpatrick Brewer
Jessie Fitzpatrick Brewer, of Alhambra, California, formerly of Prestonsburg, Ky., passed away May 4, 2002, in Alhambra, where she had lived since 1948.
Her husband, Ben I. Brewer, preceded her in death.
She was the daughter of the late Penn and Maggie Fitzpatrick.
She is survived by one sister, Peggy Marshall, of Titusville, Florida.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Ike Fitzpatrick and Sam H. Fitzpatrick; and four sisters, Stella Spurlock, Garnet Spurlock, Dot Marshall, and Bess West.
Heather Brooke Tackett
Heather Brooke Tackett, 19 years of age, died Sunday, May 12.
She was born on July 22, 1982, in Pikeville, Ky., the daughter of Tommy and Kim Mullins Tackett of Weeksbury, Ky.
She was a student at the Hazard Community College, where she was a sophomore. She was the granddaughter of Betty Hall Mullins of Weeksbury, Ky., and the late Junior Mullins, and the late Ed and Myrtle Johnson Tackett.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Justin Tommy Tackett. She is survived by two brothers, Jordan Casey Tackett and Toby Cameron Tackett, both of Weeksbury, Ky. There is a host of many relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 16, 2002, at 12 noon at the Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church at Melvin, Ky., with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Matthew Tackett Cemetery, Melvin, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
William Arthur Jones
William Arthur Jones, age 87, of Lakeland, Fl., formerly of Craynor, Ky., husband of Mae Avenell Wright Jones, passed away Friday, May 10, 2002, in Florida.
He was born December 20, 1914, in Craynor, Ky., the son of the late Kelly Jones and Martha Hall Jones. He was a retired teacher and realtor. He graduated from Pikeville College, attended Morehead State University, graduated from University of Michigan Real Estate School, taught and coached at Betsy Layne High School from 1937 until 1943 and was a member of the American Baptist Church in Lakeland, Florida.
Survivors include his wife; one son, William A. Jones II, of Lakeland, Fla.; four daughters, Margaret Mae Stumbo of Snellville, Ga., Barbara Ann Slone of Prestonsburg, Ky., Cheryl Lynn Holdridge of Ypsilanti, Mi., and Patricia Lee Packard of Orlando, Fl.; three brothers, Ernest Jones of Albion, Mi., Edward Jones of Opp, Al., and Anthony Jones of Duluth, Ga.; one sister, Nannie Martin of Ypsilanti, Mi., 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Siltania Howard and Anna Sue Wade.
Funeral services for William Arthur Jones will be conducted Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with Clergyman Vernon Slone officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Ky.
Visitation is at the funeral home.
Goldie Mosley
Goldie Mosley, age 82, of Wayland, Ky., wife of the late Edward Mosley, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2002, in the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital, McDowell, Ky.
She was born April 2, 1920, in Boons Camp, Ky., the daughter of the late James Mollette and Bertha Spears Mollette. She was a member of the Zion Deliverance Church, Wayland, Ky., and a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Lee Morris Mosley of Wayland, Ky., Larry Mosley and Randall Mosley, both of Blaine, Ky.; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Mulkey of Groveport, Oh., and Eileen Bumgarner of Lockbourne, Oh.; two brothers, Henry Mollette of Blaine, Ky., and James Estill Mollette of McDowell, Ky.; three sisters, Lillie Ward of Chillicothe, Oh., Louearta Turner of Wheelwright, Ky., and Loretta Perry of Hi Hat, Ky.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Danny Mosley; and one brother, James Jacob Mollette.
Funeral services for Goldie Mosley were conducted, Monday, May 13, 2002, at 12:00 noon, at the Zion Deliverance Church, Wayland, Ky., with the clergyman, Eugene Haney, officiating.
Burial followed in the Mosley Family Cemetery, Blaine, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Visitation was at the church.

Bobby G. Stanley
Bobby G. Stanley, 67, of 512 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio, died Friday, May 10, 2002, at the Bellevue Hospital in Bellevue, Ohio.
Born October 7, 1934, in Harold, Ky., the son of the late Morg Stanley and Rebecca (Riley) Stanley. He was employed at the Ford Motor Co. plant in Sandusky, Ohio, for 36 years, serving as a union representative for many of those years, and retired November 1, 1999. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 1216, and the Church of Christ on McPherson Highway in Clyde, Ohio. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, doing yard work, and was an avid grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Gen (Mitchell) Stanley.
Other survivors include two sons, Morgan Stanley of Clyde, Ohio, and Barry Stanley of Ypsilanti, Mich.; one daughter, Carrie Thomas of Ypsilanti, Mi.; three brothers, Donald Stanley of Clyde, Oh., Paul Stanley of Harold, Ky., and Herb Stanley of Winchester, Ky.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bill Stanley.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 14, at noon, at the Church of Christ, 1793 W. McPherson Hwy., with Russell D. Pannell, of the Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial was in the McPherson Cemetery, Clyde, Ohio, under the direction of Foos-Klein Funeral Home, 318 Soute Main St., Clyde, Ohio.
Visitation was at the funeral home.

Mary Elizabeth (Blackburn) Charles
Mary Elizabeth (Blackburn) Charles, age 67, of Auxier, Ky., passed away Thursday, May 9, 2002, at her residence, after an illness of two years.
She was born September 8, 1934, in Williamson, W.Va., a daughter of the late Leonard and Hetti (Baldwin) Blackburn. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Prestonsburg, Ky.
She was married
to Herbert Charles who survives her.
Other survivors include one son and two daughters, Jim Charles of Zebulon, Ky., Beverly Setser of Little Paint Cr., Ky., and Jheri Endicott of Cow Creek, Prestonsburg, Ky.; one brother and one sister, Curtis Blackburn of Columbus, Ohio, and Katherine Morrison of Zebulon, Ky.; also surviving are four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 12, 2002, at 1:30 p.m., from the Burke Funeral Home Chapel, Prestons-burg, Ky., with Evangelist Bennie Blankenship officiating.
Burial will follow in the Wells Cemetery in Auxier, Ky.
All arrangements are under the direction of Burke Funeral Home.
Visitation is at the funeral home.
Walter Hall
Walter Hall, 76, of Betsy Layne, Ky., passed away May 2, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born January 28, 1926, at Harold, Ky., the only son of Richard and Era Conn Hall. He had one sister, Betty Hall Porter, who lives in Prestonsburg, Ky.
As a teenager, Walter volunteered for service in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was involved in action in China, Okinawa and various points of the South Pacific. Following an honorable discharge after the war ended, he returned to Kentucky where he went into the furniture and grocery business with his father in Stanville. His father was already battling illness and died within three years, leaving him to operate the businesses alone. For a time he owned furniture businesses in Martin and Stanville and later established Hall Marine and Mobile Home Sales in Stanville and Prestonsburg. He retired in 1981.
Walter is survived by his wife, Aileen Sellards Hall of Betsy Layne, and by two daughters, Nancy Niles of Tampa, Fla., and Rhonda Kretzer of Betsy Layne, Ky. He also leaves five grandchildren, David Walter Spradlin of Fayetteville, Ark.; Jonathan Lee Spradlin of Fort Meade, Fla.; Leigh Ann Blackburn of Lexington, Ky., Candice Blackburn of Pikeville, Ky., and Kelly Blackburn of Betsy Layne, Ky.; and two great-grandchildren, Brian Wade and Carson Walter Spradlin of Fort Meade, Fla.
Funeral services were held at Hall Funeral Home in Martin Ky., Sunday, May 5, at 1 p.m., with Clergymen Robert C. Jones and Doug Lewis officiating, with interment at Davidson Memorial Gardens in Ivel.
Visitation was at Hall Funeral Home in Martin beginning at 6:00 p.m., Friday, and from noon Saturday.
Pallbearers: David Walter Spradlin, Jonathan Spradlin, John Richard Porter, Ronnie Wallen, Shawn Wallen, Tom Bow, Brian Nelson, Breck Hammond, Chris Potter and John Martin Porter.
