Allie Pratt Ball
Allie Pratt Ball, 83, of 175 N. Highland Ave., Pres-tonsburg, Ky., died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at the Prestonsburg Health Care Center.
Born April 16, 1918, in Wayne Co. W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Sam Pratt and Haney Porter Pratt. She was a member of the Lancer Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Ball.
Survivors include one daughter, Arlene West of Prestonsburg, Ky.; three grandchildren, Christopher West of Prestonsburg, Ky., Barbara Ousley of Auxier, Ky., and Elizabeth Blair of Pikeville, Ky.; five great-grandchildren, Ashli Bevins, Heather West, Adam West, Austin Coleman, and Hannah Coleman.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 14, 2002, at 2 p.m., at the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky., with Rev. Bobby Carpenter officiating.
Interment was at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky.
All arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Prestonsburg, Ky.

Earl Hall
Earl Hall, 61, of Hi Hat, Ky., died Friday, April 5, 2002, following an extended illness.
Born on May 16, 1940, in Beaver, Ky., he was the son of the late Triplett Hall and Frona Hamilton Hall. He was a member of the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church, and was a disabled coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Lee Hall.
Other survivors include two sons, Earl Dean (Stacie) Hall and Archie (Elizabeth) Hall, both of Hi Hat, Ky.; four daughters, Wilma (Randle) Howell of Teaberry, Ky., Angie (Glendale) Osborne and Frona Lynn (Wesley) Hamilton, both of Beaver, Ky., Martha Ann Hall of Hi Hat, Ky.; four brothers, Georgie Hall of McDowell, Ky., Sammy Hall of Beaver, Ky., Cledis Hall and Ruben Hall, both of Hi Hat, Ky.; four sisters, Geraldine Bentley, and Nadine Tackett, both of Beaver, Ky., Evelyn Taylor of Paintsville, Ky., and Alphie Hamilton of Teaberry, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, Jason Howell, Kelly Akers, Amanda McKinney, Victoria Osborne, Courtney Hall, Coty Hall, Katrina Isaacs, Timothy Isaacs, Darlena Hall, Shane Hall, and Eric Paige Hall; and one great-grandchild, Ethan Randle Howell.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Hall, Carlos Hall and Merlin Hall; and one sister, Irene Hall.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 8, 2002, at 12 noon, at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church, Teaberry, Ky., with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial was in the Buckingham Cemetery, Bevinsville, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Visitation was at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church.

Bud K. Hamilton Jr.
Bud K. Hamilton Jr., 47, of 208 Michigan Ave., Corunna, In., died Friday, April 12, 2002, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, In., following a sudden illness.
Born November 20, 1954, in Martin, Ky., he was the son of the late Bud K. Hamilton Sr. and Eva Jean Lawson Hamilton. He was a supervisor at Foley Foundry, Auburn, In.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Sparkman Hamilton of Corunna.
Other survivors include five sons, Brian G. Hamilton of McDowell, Ky., Craig S.D. Hamilton, Kevin D. Hamilton, Derrick S. Hamilton and Kyle D. Hamilton, all of Corunna; three brothers, Jerry Hamilton of Rome City, In., Raymond Hamilton of Corunna, In., and Jackie Hamilton of Grand Rapids, Mi.; three sisters, Ava Hamilton of Waterloo, In., Melissa Booth of Kendallville, In. and Linda Collins of Ashley, In.; two grandchildren, Mikayla P. and Hannah B. Hamilton.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at the Mt. Calvary United Baptist Church, Stroh, In., with Rev. Denny Sparkman and Rev. Willie Collins officiating.
Burial will be in the Sedan Cemetery, near Corunna, In., under the direction of Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the church.

Virgie Hicks
Virgie Hicks, age 90, of Hippo, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at Riverview Health Care Center.
She was born in Risner, Ky., on October 9, 1911, the daughter of the late Obe and Mary Jones Ousley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hicks, in February 1990.
She is survived by three daughters, Edna Mae (Wayne) Harner of Jackson, Mi., Wanda F. (Billy Ray) Hayes of Hueysville, and Loyce R. (John) Kirk of Paintsville, and Crystal River Florida; seven grandchildren, Teresa Harner Vinton, Paula Harner, Randy Harner, Shari Harner, Dr. Stan Hayes, John C. Kirk, and Kim Kirk; and ten great-grandchildren, Richie Vinton, Johnny Zakrzewski, Chinelle Rulison, Andy Rulison, Trevor Harner, Matthew Harner, Rachael Hayes, Will Hayes, Alex Kirk, and Molly Kirk; and one sister, Ethel Sparks of Peru, Indiana.
She was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church for 66 years.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 13, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, at Martin, Ky., with the Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial was in the Hicks Cemetery, at Hippo, Ky, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Pallbearers: Dr. Stan Hayes, John C. Kirk, Randy Harner, Richie Vinton, Andy Rulison, and John Zakrzewski.

Della B. Daniels Snavely
Della B. Daniels Snavely, age 89, of Prestonsburg, Ky., widow of Joe Snavely, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2002, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, Ky.
She was born May 28, 1912, at Emma, Ky., the daughter of the late Jim Bentley and Sally DeRossett Bentley Smith.
She was a homemaker and former employee of the May Lodge and the Mountain Manor Nursing Home, Prestonsburg, Ky. She was also a member of the Community Freewill Baptist Church at Goble-Roberts, in Floyd County, Ky.
She is survived by three sons, Elon Daniels Jr. of Elwood, Ind., George Daniels of Clearwater, Fla., and Larry Daniels of Little Paint, Ky.; five daughters, Marie Anderson of Springfield, Oh., Joann Gibson of West Van Lear, Ky., Mary Bilotta of Cable, Oh., Betty Bartley of Lakeland, Fla., and Draxie Dillion of Prestonsburg, Ky.; two sisters, Gertrude Harris of Prestonsburg, Ky., and Buretta Hicks of Plymouth, Oh., 47 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elon Daniels; her second husband, John Bellamy; one son, Wade Daniels, and one daughter, Myrtle Louise Daniels.
Funeral services for Mrs. Snavely were conducted Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with Paul Coleman officiating.
Burial was in the Preston Cemetery at Ulysses, in Lawrence County, Ky., under the professional care of Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Randy Click, Tom Click, Gary Daniels, Chris Daniels, Darrell Sparks, and Winston Dillion.

Dussie Ansel
Dussie Ansel, 85, of Wabash, In., died Friday, February 22, 2002, at the Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, In.
Born March 15, 1916, in Kite, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Henry Perry and Lillie Bates Perry.
Mrs. Ansel was married in 1943 in Wheelwright, Ky., to Bud D. Ansel. He passed away on September 22, 1948. She was a member of the Wabash Freewill Baptist Church on Erie Street, and was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Eileen) Click, of Wabash, In.; six sons, Carl (Corine) Ansel, Ray (Janet) Jacobs, Dennis R. Ansel, J.R. (Barb) Ansel, Charles D. Chaffins, and Walter (Carla) Ansel, all of Wabash, In.; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Loraine) Watkins, and Mrs. Mitch (Ethel) Howard, both of Wabash, In., and Mrs. Carl (Shirley) Johnson, of Dema, Ky.; 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 25, 2002, at 10:30 a.m., at the Wabash Freewill Baptist Church, Erie Street, Wabash, In., with Rev. Bill Bowling and Rev. Tim Webb officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash, In., under the direction of Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel.

Russell Clark
Russell Clark, age 70, of Grethel, Ky., passed away, Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 13, 1932, at Grethel, the son of the late John Calvin and Goldie Hall Clark. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and was a retired restaurant owner and merchant.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Simpkins Clark, and sons, Brad and wife, Donna, of Fort Mill, S.C., and Jeff of Florence, Ky.; brothers, Reevis of Sebring, Fla., Kenneth of Clyde, Ohio, and Palmer of Columbus, Ohio; and sister, Barbara Clark Newman of Grethel, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., on Saturday, April 13, at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with burial to follow at the Clark Family Cemetery in Grethel.
Visitation will be Friday, from 1 p.m., with a church service starting at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Newell Hayes
Newell Hayes, 82, of Hindman, Ky., died Monday, April 8, 2002, following an extended illness.
Born on March 7, 1920, in Knott County, he was the son of J.D. Hayes and Martha Sizemore. He was a carpenter and a DAV member of Chapter 128 of Garrett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Holliday; his father, J.D. Hayes, and his mother, Martha Sizemore; one son, James Larry, and two daughters, Katherine Riddle and Wanda Barker.
Survivors include sons, Phillip and Betty Warren of Texas; Paul and Ursula Hayes of Hindman, Ky.; Jerry and Tammy Amburgey of Amburgey; daughters, Irma Dene Johnson of Amburgey; Connie Sue and Billy Mullins of Amburgey, Audrey Mae and Kirby Jeske of Wisconsin.; Patsy Ann and Winford Slone of Garner; and Robertta Jewell Hayes of Amburgey; a brother, Harmon Hayes of South Carolina; sisters, Clella Barker of Ohio; Nedra Judy of Georgia; Elsie Black of Florida; and Madeline Hall of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 12, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Hindman United Baptist Church, with Cova Perkins, Jim Watkins and Bill Kirby officiating.
Burial will be in the Carr Fork Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Visitation will be at the Hindman United Baptist Church.
