Billy Joe Click, 72, of Betsy Layne, Ky., died Friday, March 29, 2002.
Born on December 5, 1929, in Catlettsburg, Ky., he was the son of the late Samuel Joseph Click and Mary Hurd Click. He was a retired custodian for Campbell Motors, and a member of the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Goble Click.
Other survivors include one son, Craig Click of Betsy Layne, Ky.; two daughters, Hattie Marie Click and Patty Cecil, both of Betsy Layne, Ky.; one brother, Robert H. Click of Betsy Layne, Ky.; one sister, Leona Ruth Dotson of Oak Hill, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jeremy Craig Click, Cody Allen Click, and Tiffany Jean Marie Billiter.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Dean Click.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 1, 2002, at 1 p.m., at the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church, Betsy Layne, Ky., with Tracy Patton and Tim McCoy officiating.
Burial was in the Old Ferguson Cemetery, Harold, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Visitation was at the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Vernon Reynolds, Brandon Click, Randall Click, Scott Bailey, Gomer Hall, Jeremy Click, and Cody Click.
Honorary pallbearers: Clifford Hall, Mark McCoy, David Goble, James Allen, Larry Cecil, and Craig Click.
Virginia D. Hines
Virginia D. Hines, 81, of Prestonsburg, Ky., died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, following an extended illness.
Born on August 13, 1920, at Lackey, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Bee and Bessie DeRossett Daniels. She was a retired florist and a member of the Irene Cole Memorial Baptist Church, Prestonsburg, Ky.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary Leslie of Prestonsburg, Ky., Nell Ruth Leslie Slone of Martin, Ky.; nine grandchildren, Kim, Jim, Pam, Lora, David, Karen, Mark, Joe Dale, and Sherri Lynn, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Judith Gale Leslie Shepherd; one sister, Ruth Hazlett; and one brother, Clay Daniels.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 29, 2002, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Rev. Arnold Turner officiating.
Burial will be in the Family Cemetery, Abbott Mountain, Prestonsburg, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Visitation is at the funeral home.
Frank Mayo Leslie
Frank Mayo Leslie, 81, of Cow Creek, Prestonsburg, Ky., died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, following an extended illness.
Born on July 17, 1920, in Emma, Ky., he was the son of Lewis Crittenden Leslie and Clara Mae Gunnell Leslie. He was a member of the Railroad Brotherhood; a member of the Cow Creek Freewill Baptist Church; a member of the Odd Fellows; Honorary member of VFW, and a Floyd County Rescue Squad member.
He was retired from C&O Railway, and an former Floyd County High Sheriff.
He is survived by his wife, Hester Woods Leslie.
Other survivors include five sons, Jerry Mayo Leslie of Chapmanville, W. Va., Bennett Lee Leslie, Darrell Keith Leslie, and John Paul Leslie, all of Prestonsburg, Ky., one special son, David Woods of Prestonsburg, Ky.; one brother, Ralph Leslie of Emma, Ky.; one sister, Bonnie Walters of Emma, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, Angela (Edwin) Burton, Brandon (Heather) Leslie, Rebecca (Bill) Vance, Jonathan Leslie, Blake Leslie, Shea (Chris) Lafferty, Amber Leslie, Amanda Leslie, Allison Leslie, and Kandra Leslie; and three great-grandchildren, Nathan Burton, Will Vance, and Kristian Leslie.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 30, 2002, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Rev. David Garrett officiating.
Burial will be in the Leslie Cemetery, Emma, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the funeral home.
Military rites were conducted by the Auxier D.A.V. Chapter No. 18.

Evelyn Faye Slone
Evelyn Faye Slone, age 84, of Martin, Ky., widow of William P. Slone, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2002, at the Riverview Health Care Center, Prestonsburg, Ky.
She was born June 2, 1917, in Louisa, Ky., the daughter of the late Robert Henson and Effie Curnutte Henson.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Judd of Drift, Ky.; one sister, Tellie Copley of Louisa, Ky.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 30, 2002, at 1:00 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with the clergyman, Randy Osborne, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.

Bill H. Hutchison
Bill H. Hutchison, 61, of Prestonsburg, Ky., passed away Thursday, March 28, 2002, at his residence, after an illness of four years.
He was born April 30, 1940, in Olive Hill, Ky., a son of James Anderson and Madge (Kitchen) Hutchison, who survive, and reside at Fallsburg, Ky.
He was married
to Ruby (Johnson) Hutchison who survives.
He was a member of Imanuel Baptist Church, a member of Thomas C. Cecil Masonic Lodge at Pikeville, Ky., and a construction worker in reclamation.
Other survivors include one son, Chris Hutchison of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Sherrie Stevens of Pikeville, Ky.; three step-sons and one step-daughter, Tim Collins of Paintsville, Ky., Mark Collins, and Scott Collins both of Prestonsburg, Ky.; and Tammy Blackburn of Prestonsburg, Ky.; one brother, James Dale Hutchison of Paris, Ky.; one sister, Bonnie S. Harden of Milford, Ohio; one grandchild; and 12 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m., from the Burke Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg, Ky., with Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mayo Cemetery at Prestonsburg, Ky.
All arrangements are under the direction of Burke Funeral Home.
Visitation is at the funeral home.
Randall Gene Hollifield
Randall Gene Hollifield, 31, died Sunday, March 24, 2002.
He was born March 15, 1971, the son of Randall Hollifield and Evelyn Hall Taylor, who survive him.
Other survivors include his stepmother, Anita Hollifield; and his stepfather, Gerald Taylor; two brothers, Samuel Neil Hollifield and Chase Hall; and one sister, Andrea Taylor.
The body was cremated and entombment was in the Hollifield Family Cemetery, Floyd County, Kentucky, with Clay Hanks officiating.
Mary Blanche Martin
Mary Blanche Martin, 85, of Bedford, Ky., passed away Monday, March 25, 2002, in Hanover, In.
Born on February 5, 1917, in Trimble County, Ky., she was the daughter of O.R. and Ella Perkinson Hill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, and Trimble County Historical Society.
Survivors inclue one son, James H. Martin of Madison, In.; one daughter, Linda M. Caudill of Hanover, In.; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, McClellan Martin, and one sister, Martha F. Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford, Ky., with Dr. Harold Henson officiating.
Interment will be in the Bedford I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Wednesday.
Beulah Scott
Beulah Scott, 85, of Albion, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Battle Creek.
She was born September 8, 1916, in Breathitt County, Ky., the daughter of Edward and Bertie (Clemens) Howard.
Beulah married
Everett Scott on June 11, 1932; he preceded her in death, 12 years ago.
For many years she was employed by Farley Farms, and enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church in Albion, and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening and cooking.
Survivors include eight daughters, Maddleen Wales of Albion, Donna Lawton of Battle Creek, Deloris Ousley, Emily Newsome, Linda Krum and Watheda Hall, all of Marshall, Deborah Luke of Parma, and Patricia Balunas of Jackson; one brother, Aaron Howard of Garrett, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were four brothers.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 21, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Grace Freewill Baptist Church, Albion, with Reverend Earl Martin officiating.
Interment followed in Lyon Lake Cemetery.
Visitation was at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, Albion.
