Elder Buck Tuttle
Elder Buck Tuttle, 61, of Abbott Creek, Prestonsburg, Ky., died Thursday, March 21, 2002, following an extended illness.
Born on September 21, 1940, at Wayland, Ky., he was the son of the late Henry Tuttle and Daisy King Tuttle Freeze. He was a retired welder. He had been a member and Elder of Bethel Old Regular Baptist Church, Maytown, Ky., for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Birdie Sue Tackett Tuttle.
Survivors include two sons, Randy (Beverly) Tuttle of Willard, Ohio, and Danny (Jennifer) Tuttle of Berea, Ky.; three brothers, Ellis Tuttle and Holly Tuttle, both of Willard, Ohio, and Wayne Tuttle of Plymouth, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jared, Ashlee, and Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Orville Shorty Tuttle, Berton Tuttle and Carl Ray Tuttle.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 24, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Old Beaver Old Regular Baptist Church, Minnie, Ky., with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Burial was in the Morgan Hall Cemetery, McDowell, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Visitation was Friday at the funeral home, and Saturday, at the Old Beaver Old Regular Baptist Church.

Eliza J. Johnson
Eliza J. Johnson, 86, of Rittman, Ohio, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at the Apostolic Christian Home.
She was born on August 3, 1915, in Marshall County, Ky., the daughter of Garfield and Nancy (Honeycutt) Collins, and lived in Weeksbury, Ky., before moving to Rittman in 1995.
She was a former dietician at McDowell Hospital in McDowell, Ky., and was a member of the Joppa Regular Baptist Church in Melvin, Ky., for more than 60 years.
Her husband, Charlie Johnson, died in 1986. A son, Billy Dean Johnson and a grandson, Billy C. Johnson, also died previously.
Surviving are daughters, Judy (David) McDonald, Jeanette Selbee, Bonnie Thacker, and Mary Howell all of Rittman, and Betty (Garland) Tackett of Marshallville; a son, Charles Johnson of Rittman; 14 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maggie Hall, and Diana Spivery, both of Britton, Mi.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, March 26, at 3 p.m., at Buckingham Cemetery in Floyd County, Ky.
Gillman Funeral Home, Rittman, was in charge of arrangements.

Rofolo Newsome
Rofolo Newsome, age 66, of Harold, Ky., husband of Lorene Isaacs Newsome, passed away Monday, March 25, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Ky.
He was born October 20, 1935, in Grethel, Ky., the son of the late Robert Newsome and Effie Hall Newsome. Mr. Newsome was a retired coal miner, and attended the Old Regular Baptist Church.
In addtion to his wife, he is survived by one son, Darrell Newsome of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; two daughters, Jackie Scarberry of Harold, Ky., and Gwen Cecil of Georgetown, Ky.; three brothers, Morris Newsome of Harold, Ky., Icess Newsome and Greeley Newsome, both of Grethel, Ky.; three sisters, Josephine Frasure and Joyce Hicks, both of Grethel, Ky., and Genevieve Ball of Lorain, Oh., and five grandchildren, Jordan Scarberry, Ali Cecil, Whitney Newsome, Chasey Newsome, and Baylee Newsome.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, R.S. Newsome.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 28, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Newsome Family Cemetery, Grethel, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation is at the funeral home.

Adith Morris
Adith Morris, 83, of Hippo, Ky., died Friday, March 22, 2002.
Born on September 14, 1918, in Pike County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Dennis Little and Dona Tackett Little. She was a retired cook for Allen Central High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Morris.
Survivors include three sons, Shirrell Morris of Johnson County, Ky., James A. Morris of Wayland, Ky., and Patrick Dwayne Morris of Estill, Ky.; one daughter, Vivian Ousley of South Point, Ohio; one sister, Jeanette Thacker of Huntington, Ind.; seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Eva Morris; five brothers, Malcolm Little, Elbert Little, Eshmael Little, Bernard Little, and Thomas Critman; and six sisters, Elsie Layne, Lori Slone Layne, Mamie Sturgill, Zanie Hicks, Gracie Hall and one infant sister; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 24, 2002, at 2 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Earl Slone and Barry Tiller officiating.
Burial was in the Martin Cemetery, Eastern, Ky., under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the funeral home.

Betty Gibson
Betty Gibson, age 60, of Martin, Ky., wife of the late James Henry Gibson, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2002, at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital, Pikeville, Ky.
She was born December 17, 1941, in Pike County, Ky., the daughter of the late Alex Mullins and Alpha Price Mullins.
Survivors include one son, Stephen Mullins of Harold, Ky.; two daughters, Althea Hunt of Stanville, Ky., and Kate Conn of Vanceburg, Ky.; four brothers, Chalmer Mullins and Columbus Mullins, both of Pikeville, Ky., Jeff Mullins and Will Mullins, both of Rowan County, Ky.; three sisters, Lora Mullins and Opal Adkins, both of Meadow Bridge, W.Va., Lizzie Lolley of Oakman, Al.; five grandchildren, Todd Blevins, Garrett Conn, Ryan Hunt, Kayla Blevins, and Andrea Hunt.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Keith Mullins, and two brothers, Wilburn Mullins and Lincoln Mullins.
Funeral services for Betty Gibson were conducted Sunday, March 24, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Stone Coal Freewill Baptist Church, Pikeville, Ky., with the clergymen, Dwight Buckley and James Harmon, officiating.
Burial followed in the Mullins Cemetery, Pikeville, Ky., under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Ky.
Visitation was at the church.

Mollie M. Tackett
Mollie M. Tackett, 86, of Minford, Ohio, formerly of Weeksbury, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at the Elbrooke Pavillion, Minford, Ohio.
She was the widow of E. Everett Tackett of Weeksbury, and the daughter of the late Willie and Evalee (Osborne) Mullins.
Mollie was born June 28, 1915, in Myra, Ky. She was a member of the Wheelwright Chapter of the Eastern Star, and was of the Regular Baptist faith.
Mollie is survived by one son, Everett E. Tackett of Winterhaven, Fla.; four daughters and their husbands, Mary Astor and William Middleton of Berea, Ky., Regina T. and Amos Salisbury of Stockdale, Ohio, Phyllis D. and Glen Coldiron of Middletown, Ohio, and Beth and Rick McCoy of Richmond, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace Newman of Virgie, Ky.; a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Mullins and Alvin Mullins; two sisters, Liza Newsome and Myra McCoy, and a half sister, Draxie Mullins.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at the Hall-Jones Funeral Home, Virgie, Ky., and bural was in the Henry Tackett Cemetery, Melvin, Ky.

Donald B. Ball
Donald B. Ball, age 77, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of Prestonsburg, Ky., passed away Saturday, March 23, 2002, at the V.A. Hospital in Lexington, Ky., after an extended illness.
He was born April 27, 1924, in Prestonsburg, Ky., a son of the late Richard and Alice (Vaughn) Ball. He was a veteran, having served in W.W. II, and owner of Ball’s Restaurant in Prestonsburg, Ky. for many years. He retired from Hardees Restaurant Chain, where he worked in management.
He was married to Fannie (Wallen) Ball who preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son and one daughter, James Richard Ball of Ind., and Donna Ball Collins of Prestonsburg, Ky.; two brothers, Print Ball of Prestonsburg, Ky., and Richard Ball Jr., of Ypsilanti, Mich.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 25, at 11 a.m., from the Burke Funeral Home Chapel in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Burial was in the Mayo Cemetery at Prestonsburg, Ky.
All arrangements were under the direction of Burke Funeral Home.

Larry Lee Schuster, Jr.
Services for SSG Larry Lee Schuster Jr., 37, were Friday March 15 at the Runge Mortuary Chapel with cremation to follow. Larry passed away Monday, March 11, in his home in LeClaire, Iowa.
SSG Schuster served in the U.S. Army for 15 years. He served in Desert Storm and received a Bronze Star. He later served in the Hawaii National Guard as an aircraft technical inspector before stationing in the Iowa National Guard as a supply sergeant and PSCO. He was an active member of the Koa-Puno Motorcycle Club of Oahu, Hawaii.
He was born October 10, 1964 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is preceded in death by his father, Larry Lee Schuster, Sr., and grandfather, John Schuster, and survived by his mother, Sidnee Ahn Schuster, Honolulu, Hawaii; wife Annette Peterson; son, Samuel Schuster; step-children, Alan Clarke, Shaun Jackson, Christa Jackson; grandmother, Mildred Schuster, Ohio; sister Kelly (Kim) Henson, Johnstown, Ohio.
